    Hi! Currently on the process of setting up a chromecast to a BeoVision 7 tv & speaker. We were able to plug it into one of the sockets (dtv?) and was able to set it up successfully except for the audio missing. Completely new to this tv since it was given to us by a friend and we’re not completely sure what we did wrong and how to fix the problem.

      Hi. I am very sorry but I am not aware of any way reliably use streaming devices such as Amazon Firestick, Sky Q, Chromecast, Apple TV, etc. with older TVs that don't have HDMI sockets fitted. Adapters or converters don't usually work well, as the protection software in the streaming device can turn off the signal unless a TV with an HDMI socket is detected.

    Hi Steve, I upgraded my B&O setup and purchaseD a DVD2.
    I linked it to my Beovision 10 with a HDMI kabel.
    The DVD starts playing, but I have to adjust the date and time and the BEO4 remote doesn't work on that screen.
    Does the DVD1 and DVD2 only pairs the BEO4 when using a SCART kabel (my DVD1 was connected with scart, and the BEO4 worked then, but I didnt had to adjust the date and time) SCART is analog and HDMI digital, so I prefere that.
    I connected a jackcable to the Beovision 10 and DVD2 (Puc?) But thats for a non B&O setup and not ment for TV to DVD, but TV to IR- eye?
    How do I get the BEO4 working on the DVD2?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  10 месяцев назад +1

      The old DVD1 and DVD2 players only really work on a compatible TV via a SCART cable, as they get their control through this cable. Best to keep them for a retro system now if you have an older TV, as their performance isn't great by modern standards.

      @@soundsheavenly I was a fraid of that. With the HDMI kabel I see the moviebplaying with digital quality, but the remote doesnt work and there are no buttons on the DVD2! (DVD1 there are, but no HDMI) amd I got the DVD2 for its beautifull design. If I understand correct I only have 2 options: 1) Scart and 2) HDMI with the external B&O infrared remote eye, the the BEO4 works and HDMI quality? Hows the quality with a Beovision 10 and Sqart connected DVD2?

    • @E36andE46vlog

      I say on B&O world: has to use both Hdmi for pic. scart for control and link TV. Can I vieuw true HDMI and connect true scart? I wonder how the option would work with HDMI and 1 of the 4 IR external eyes for the BEO4.

    I am seriously starting to warm up to the idea of treating myself to a Bang and Olufsen set. Thing is, I already have an MX7000 tube telly which I use for old game consoles. Is there any way to keep this telly around if I buy a modern TV? I worry my the remote would try to control both sets at the same time.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +2

      If you go for a newer B&O TV that uses a Bluetooth remote then there is no worry of accidentally controlling both TVs at once - by using a "dual mode" BeoRemote One with Bluetooth and IR, you could switch between controlling the old and the new TV when you want...

    Steve, I have a DVD2 and a HRD2 which appears I might be able to use with my Beoplay V1 television.
    The guide says there is an AV socket, rather than being a more familiar Scart socket it has a round AV socket which says you can connect analogue equipment, but “additional adaptor might be required”. Now is this a simple Scart to Round 9-pin AV cable or is there a need for a magic box?
    If this is just a cable, that looks doable, but the deal breaker would the instructions to ‘play’ not be transmitted to my B&O analogue kit via this cable, the effort would be wasted. As I don't think there is an remote sensor on either analogue product.
    Can you shed any light?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +1

      Hi, I apologise but the DVD2 and HDR2 were really only useful with period B&O TVs of the same era, they aren't really suited for connection to modern TVs and the picture quality would be poor. For this reason, I don't offer cables for these products to link to newer TVs, I recommend using a modern Blu-ray or hard disk player instead for best results.

I have a HDMI converter to SCART connected (Makida is the make), for the input, I tried the various SCART connectors at the back of the TV . I tried with A.TAPE V.TAPE etc. I get image with those. I also purchased the square one "MINI" this one has 3x coloured output red, yellow and white but I didn't understand what to do with this one, if I needed cables or what not. I don't see anywhere at the back of the TV where I would be able to connect 3 cables or what sort of cable. On the old Beoworld forum they tried to help me but didn't understand everything. Anyway long shot I know . Thanks

    I have a double sided question, can you split s/pdif(optical) or is that not recommended? And if i were to do that as is one cable the the 50's and one to an 18, would I need to double up on the 18's(as in use the toslink in and then out) if they are already in series connected via a pl cable?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  5 лет назад +1

      Good question! Optical signals are basically a flashing light instead of an electrical signal, so you should avoid splitting optical signals - this would distort the light output and reduce the sound quality. However, you can send an optical signal into one speaker that has In and Out sockets (eg. Beolab 18) and on to other speakers without losing any signal quality. As with Powerlink, when you daisy-chain optical signals in this way, all speakers will play the same stereo sound instead of surround sound.
