My last re-evaluation (2018) was performed by a P.A. It was the first civilian "doctor" the V.A. had ever sent me to. I was the ONLY patient there the entire time I was there. He looked like he was about 19 years old and there was no M.D. present. His "evaluation" resulted in the loss of 10% of my rating. Evidently, as long as it benefits them, and not the veteran, they WILL consider P.A. evaluations legitimate. I was warned by DAV not to appeal because I would risk losing what little percentage I receive. I can't afford to see a civilian doctor for a second opinion and was told the V.A. wouldn't even look at a non-V.A. doctor's evidence anyway. This video is the first I've ever heard that P.A. evaluations are not considered legitimate by V.A. or I would have appealed it then. Thank you for your efforts to inform the veterans. It's nice to see that someone is here to help us. I wish I had found your channel decades ago. Unfortunately, I only found you last week.

there is no such thing as self diagnosing for VA purposes... you can opine on your condition based on how you say you feel and what is happening with yourself physically and mentally... Diagnosis must be made my MD PA NP
