Scenario: widow files for DIC (86)and is denied for service connection. Widow reapplies (95) VA denies for service connection but begins to pay survivor pension. The widow thens collects social security (2013) and then survivors pension is stopped and social security is garnished by VA (2015). During the garnishment a claim was filed for DIC again (2023) and now approved for service connected death. What year will the effective date be?….

I filed for Agent Orange disability right around 1967 after discharge from service. It was before the registry was enacted. I was denied a service connection disability because I was told no one knew what symptoms pertained to AO exposure. I filed an appeal and was later told that I had to be 100% disabled to claim AO exposure. I filed a claim before or after the Pact Act. I can’t remember exactly when. It was an appeal that had to do with the denial back around 1967. I found that I can’t find that denial in my service records or health records. Why can’t I locate this claim and denial? Do I need help and assistance? I am 80% disabled but I’m being paid at 100% rate for other service connected disabilities totaling more than 100%

Also call VA and cuss the first person and then the supervisor. And take 2 drinks and call back to back.

You have to call them every day at least 5 times a day at least. Take a drink or 2 before you call. You will silently get their attention.😂🤑

I'm glad I stuck around to the end of your video. The reason being was your last supportive statement regarding buddies and buddy letters. Since I was not seen by our ships infirmary after a brutal on board beating, under threats of death to both myself and my rescuer, there was no medical records. My best buddy onboard was my only source, he was down in our berthing area when the rescuer shoulder carried me down, head and neck bruises all over. Perhaps the fact that my buddy, he is now a retired doctor, might have had something to do with the credibility of my case, it was sufficient to grant me 100% PTSD. I also had 100% COPD. My final outcome was 100% P&T. The VA assigned psychiatrist wrote up my continual issues with aggressive people and how I must handle it or turn into a blubbering blob - seriously. Note: The attacker mysteriously disappeared from the ship at our next port-o-call ... nobody knew why he was spirited away....well nobody but three of us. BUDDY STATEMENTS ARE VITAL in the absence of medical evidence. Make sure they're credible! Best wishes to all applicants. Why does the V A never consider asbestos exposure from being a heating system specialist in the Air Force from removing the steam pipes and the insulation on them and replacing them with non asbestos insulated steam pipes? Even though my lungs show that I have been diagnosed with nodules in my lungs, the V A student doctors keep trying to tell me that the only branch in the military that maintained boiler/steam plants is the navy and they won't even listen to me. Just because I was discharged in 1982 they keep saying to me the pact act doesn't cover that.

I am plum cornfused. If you cant submit HLR past 1year after the the denial, and you can't submit a Supplemental claim because a CUE claim may not account for any new information, what is the mechanism used to initiate the CUE claim?

My plantar was denied 2013. I resubmitted my claim 2024 and got approved for 10%. I used the same documents from 2013 that got me approved for 2023 claim. I filed CUE on my own to changed last July to changed effective date to 2013, I got the decision back- DENIED. I followed your advice from your previous videos

Back then they never told veterans that they could file for VA Benetfits, this was perhaps intentional not to give information concerning VA Benetfits!!!

Question? I’m considering marrying a retired officer. I am curious to know he was divorced years ago but I we were to get married will I get any benefits? If so, which ones? He’s retired already and I’m 10 years younger so he wants me to retire too which would mean if I do I would not qualify for my own retirement. Is this a smart decision to join him I.
