My senior nco staff witnessed me break down at the nco club at the armory when we came back from AT and was just relaxing and having a good time. I held all that in for almost 2 years and the situation made me let my guard down and cried myself a river. That was the first step to recovery
If someone was discharge honorably with medical conditions due to water contamination because his face will breakout camp Lenunne he got that DD form means he still has benefits right ? He even qualify n got a VA mortgage voucher does he gets a pension when he retires ?
My c-file medical records has complaints of in service bilateral shoulder pain. I didn't know about VA disability benefits so never filed. After I got out of the service the shoulder pain got progressively worse and unbearable. While working my civil service job my left shoulder just got so bad I couldn't even move it without horrendous pain. Since my shoulder was aggravated on the job by law i had the right to file an owcp claim. My claim was accepted and I received impingement syndrome surgery and was paid a 15% impairment rating schedule award from OWCP. After the surgery and recuperation my right shoulder had the same problems as my left so I had 2 surgeries on my right using my private insurance. Now currently both shoulders have impingement syndrome and rotator cuff tears per MRI along with becip tendon damage. I'm sick of going doctors and live with pain. I don't know if I can file for VA disability benefits now because of the schedule award payments i received 23 years ago. I don't understand about the double dipping law's regarding owcp and VA claims. I could use some help but don't know where to start. I have 2-3 MRIs along with doctors notes and diagnosis showing continuous symptomatology in both shoulders from after service to current. I did read on a postal employee union paper that you can file a owcp claim on a service connected limb but you cannot receive benefits owcp disability and va disability concurrently.
What if you have multiple honorable discharges and your last discharge was a BCD, can I still apply for disability benefits for the honorable discharges? I was allowed to use my 911 GI-bill based upon the honorable classification of my previous enlistments. The BCD was the result of a general court martial and I served to years in the brig.
I went AWOL twice from the 82d airborne. Once for a month; once for an entire year.
I've never had any issues with the VA or benefits.
