    Im active duty and my MEB will be wrapped up on Feb 21st. I got 70% DOD and 90% (87%) va. When I do my exit interview with my VA rep I will be adding my sleep apnea (yes I have a CPAP). That will put me at 94% so I literally need one more claim at 10% to push me to 100.

    • @Ripper2524
      @Ripper2524 5 месяцев назад

      @@Reper123100 for me the DOD rating was important to be able to get retirement benefits which requires 30% or higher. The VA rating is separate and is for your disability compensation pay.
      If I was over 20 years of service and got medically discharged then yes I would get retirement pay at % of DOD rating (not to exceed 75%) x base pay. And then I would of also got the VA compensation pay. For someone that gets medical discharged over 20 years of service they will receive higher retirement pay then someone equal to them with the same years of service be pending on that DOD rating.

    I'm curious, if a service member is diagnosed with mild scoliosis upon entering the service and it's notated on the entrance exam and the medical records and got waved and approved by the doctor and allowed to enter but then while in service it was aggravated and made worse, can a back claim be made? Or will they say this was prior service and not service connected? Would a Nexus still be required or not since it is notated in records?

With #10 that made me realize that it is combat. I was OIF/GWOT USS Abraham Lincoln westpac 03 and we had been training chemical drills and where told thay Sadam can gas us at any time. Even did chemical missile attack drills. 2 hrs from anchoring out in Bahrain our chemical alarm goes off detecting sarin gas. It was fucking real to us. 30 mins later the CO on the 1MC, oh it was a false alarm. Sorry get back to work. It fucked me. The training we went through to don our ACPG suits, our auto injectors, memorizing effects of type Golf gas. I'm in anxiety group now and gonna appeal.
