If they want to eliminate "claim sharks" then they and ALL VSOs need to step up. If they want only VSOs to help veterans, then they should ONLY allow them to help. However, they should then also have many hundreds or even thousands more VSOs who are better educated and helpful.
Sort of along the same lines, when I got out, I used all the free services to write my resume and it wasn't great and got me a middling job. I hired a resume writer, who for a few hundred bucks helped me double my salary. Point is, finding people who know what they are doing may not be cheap, but they can certainly be worth it.

I suspect this whole "crack down" on consulting companies comes from the huge influx of claims post PACT Act and the govt not wanting to pay out all these new fully developed claims that informed vetarans are filing. They want to develop to deny but with the internet in this modern age that becomes more difficullt as more veterans become better educated on the process. Of course tjeres shady practices with some named companies but thats different than the peoduct you guys put out. Its no different than writing a book about cooking then having the FDA label you as a national health hazard.
