So true, Citizen Soldier writes such deep and relatable lyrics. Reminds me of a quote, "The axe forgets, but the tree remembers." Often what is one person's worst day of their life is another's regular weekday. We so often hurt each other and leave scars without even knowing it, or we do it on purpose but forget relatively quickly, ignorant that what we did is going to leave long-term psychological scars. Of course, the worst are those who knowingly hurt and scar others and do so out of sheer sadism/malice.

I love that while the instruments are heavy, the voice never becomes obnoxious screaming/ just noise. The singer has a good voice that holds a melody amidst heavy instrumentals. Dunno if I'm making sense 😅
Basically, I am fine with heavy instrumentals, so long as the artist still actually sings 😊
I LOVE this because we get so many comments of people saying they wish I screamed it...I sometimes feel like screaming can become a crutch for active rock bands but it can also sound cool in certain moments 🤷🏼♂️
@@CitizenSoldier I'm the opposite then. I almost always turn off any music that has screaming vocals, especially if I can't hear/ decipher the words. I think a powerful note and strong vocals can be belted without screaming. Heck, even gravelly and/or growling is ok on occasion. But great lyrics are ruined and stripped of meaning for me if it devolves into just noise.

@@CitizenSoldier - I love your voice as well. Screaming works OK for some bands, but frankly I think the way you use your range works better. Your range combined with the instruments conveys emotion very well. Besides, screaming can trash the throat so it's better not to do it (especially on tour when you have to sing night after night).

Not to start an argument, but there’s really no such thing as ‘real’ music. At least for me anyways. Music is Music, either of its metal, rap, rock, hip etc. it’s just like art in a way. Different styles and creativity but amazing in its own way. As well as different perspectives on it as well. So many different ways you can handle things. But other than that, have a good day/night and stay safe! Even if this is a bit of a late reply.

So I played this LOUDLY in my room because I have really big speakers. And so while it was playing, a friend of mine who never really liked Citizen Soldier came in and started bopping his head to this. He asked who was the artist and I gave him the biggest grin on my face and said "Citizen Soldier" Starting from that day, he listened to Citizen Soldier songs non-stop.

This actually reminded me of something in my past, where someone got to abuse my trust. He asked something of me and said that he wouldn't tell anyone and right the next day in school he shouted it out but i could get everyone to not belief him. Still, he used it to blackmail me for months. And not to mention I was only eight back then and didn't know how to help myself while i am now 14. I only told my mother when i finally realised after like 4 months or more that it wasn't alright and damaging me each day more and more. One of my friends back then actually wanted to quit the friendship because I didn't have any time for her. My trust has been abused so much in the past, but my friends that I have now,help me to somehow repair it a bit and I am glad to have them, even though I never told them about this case and I probably never will since it's already a few years in the past and it doesn't weight on me that heavy anymore. Still they listened to me when i told them about another thing. This was the point when it helped to regain atleast some trust in the people around me and to not be so closed up. But to even tell them it took me for one like three years to get to know and trust her and the over one one year and a half i think. Nonetheless, both are really great friends and I trust them even more now. And this song is really good! Another Masterpiece. Keep going 'cause you lighten up the days of so many people (including me😅) and you are really good. Soooooo as I said: Keep Going!!!!☺️

She was like a sister to me 20 years.... lied to me, knew what I went through and was going through still turned on me... no boundaries for others and lacked the respect aswell.... I still remember what she said to me... *I should of listened to my gut about you * I am still torn up about it even though it's been about 3 yrs since we 100% stopped talking and having anything todo with each other. This song goes to her. In reality I should of followed my gut that faithful day in middle school to not become friends with her. Lesson learned again.... I HOPE IT HAUNTS YOU!

This song brings back memories of an Ex of mine. We had a five year relationship and were even engaged. Towards the end of that time period, I found out that she had been cheating on me with four different guys over the span of two years. It affected me to the point where in any relationship that had afterward, I was constantly thinking that the person I was with was cheating on me. This song nearly brought me to tears. I'm still working through the effects of my previous relationship, and the abuse that she put me through will probably haunt me for years. She was hurting me so much that it physically made me sick, to the point where I felt just as tired as the previous night after getting over 8 hours of sleep. I was constantly nauseated, stressed and unhappy. I know she hasn't lost any sleep over it and refuses to recognize what she did to me. I know it has left a still-bleeding scar much deeper than I have ever had before, after I had given her everything I had. Thankfully my current partner is nothing but understanding of what I've been through, and that the damage that was done will take time to heal. I felt this song deep in my soul, and I can understand the feeling behind it. Thank you for your music, for your time and dedication to making your songs that have so much meaning behind them. You guys truly help me feel less alone in the world, and as sad as it is, I'm sure there's a lot more people you help with your music then just me.

I've found your group not much ago but I've already listened to all of your songs. I'm amazed for the meaning you often put behind your lines, it really hit me like a brick sometimes because it manage to reach my heart like just some others few songs did before. I also really like your style and that's why you've quickly achived one of the first places in my personal top ten of favourite singers. So far, two of your songs that I liked the most are: Let it Burn and Never Good Enough. They moved me because I really found myself in what the lyrics said. I wish you will keep on doing songs like this because, at least from my point of view, sometimes it's hard to find them. You're amazing, keep going and never give up. :)

Sometimes betrayal hurts but you can use it as you fuel to power through the barriers and keep pushing forward
I have borderline personality disorder, I recently went back to treatment and recounted the nightmares I had in addition to other experiences. The psychiatrist concluded that I may have been a victim of abuse at a very young age. And partly I was, of what I remember at least is when I was older. The song gets to me, but now I'm treating the anxiety.

Although my situation is by far not as hard as the reality you have to face, I know how it feels when you want nothing more than to leave this world behind. You are right to not blame your brother, cause the pain he felt made him see no light in the past, in the present or the future. But he never wanted to hurt you. Everybody needs an angel or a good ghost right beside. I have mine and you have him. I know, that people often talk to much, often about things that should not lead them to make assumptions, maybe I do it right now. But although you are a stranger to me, I wanted to tell you that you are not alone. I am eightheen and paralyzed from the hip down, cause of my own actions. I lost my best friend in a traffic accident. Every human carries his own pain, his own hurt. You can cry about it, cry a lot and than you march on. You know so much more than the average because of the cruel things you experienced at such a young age. You can show the world, what you think of it for treating you like this. You are so much more than your foster parents believed in and so much more than you believe. Wounds become scars and your voice becomes a choir. And never forget, that you and your brother both deserve the whole world, but the world just don't deserve you.

Citizen Soldier. You never cease to amaze. Honestly for my life right now, I can relate to this song. Someone I had loved so much has left me. They had done me wrong as well many times. But. I had stuck by their side and forgave them each time they made a mistake. There is the feeling of wanting to be merciful. But, there is also the feeling of wanting as well to give people what they deserve.
