Ironically, they used mostly tiny amps here. Which they only seem to do when they know the venue is on point.
I can remember being a band and absolutely needing to have a half-stack. I was a bass player though, and it was a metal band so I wanted hear the guitar players telling me to turn it down a notch for once :)

There is something so special about this performance. The more I listen to/watch it the more I want to see/hear it again. It is just so heart-felt and moving. This band has obviously reached that pinnacle where true magic can happen in performances. I have just ordered 4 of their albums on the basis of watching this, as well as other RUclips offerings: KEXP in Seattle, and other early and excellent performances on the starsandspit RUclips channel. It was during a time when I felt like I was loosing touch with current music and thought I was just getting old, and didn't understand it, as with alot of music during that time, plus I was in a seriously dark time in my life where I felt completely lost for a number of years. A musical collective, a musical community like no other. I keep coming back to this video because it conveys so well the energy I remember from seeing them live so many times 20 years ago. Twenty! Pure joy in its most distilled form.
