This is a Japanese WWII bayonet. The markings stamped on the bayonet indicate that it was manufactured by Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho (Toyoda Automatic Loom Works) under the supervision of the Nagoya Japanese Arsenal. The Toyoda marking is the sort of hatch marked marking to the left, and the Nagoya marking is the marking to the right, which vaguely looks like the number "8".
Generally, when people on RUclips restore bayonets, they usually take the guard off. That isn't necessary. Just clean the outside of the guard. Japanese bayonets are going up in value now. German bayonets are very expensive. So are some Italian bayonets. You just have to look around and get what you can find. Good luck hunting! You do good work!
To me it's not a restoration, it's just a clean up of old material. By the way, you ever heard about those legendary intentions of grinding machines? You waste time and sandpaper and chemicals and energy, to come to a product wich is barely different from what it was by beginning. Sorry, but that's my opinion.🥴
I kept the original handles on it and I treated the metal under the handles so it wouldn't rust under them anymore. Thanks for watching. Please make a video showing your work how to do it.
My favorite video. Needing more 😎

Thank you very much for the right up information. Very informative. I had no idea that markings on the blades was from Toyota etc.. nice to know!
It's not Toyota (the car people) it's a smaller shop which was named Toyoda...
Oh ok that makes since. Thanks again I'm looking up more info on ww1 ww2 weapons.
