    An excellent offering from Ruger; a well executed design that would serve anyone looking for a lightweight, simple, concealable weapon for daily carry; or as a backup to supplement a larger pistol.
    I have really enjoyed carrying and shooting the LCR. Small frame revolvers are certainly not the best option for concealed carry, but they certainly still have a role, and in my opinion are viable weapons that can still hold a spot in a concealed carry rotation. You need to find a system that enables you to carry as much as possible, which is precisely why I decided to give the LCR a shot. Carry every day!

    Solid choice brother, i just picked up a Taurus 856 defender 3” today, considering grabbing an LCR in 38 or 22mag as a 2” snubbie for pocket carry, i also live/work in a liberal not so gun friendly area so i feel you on the concealment aspect. Gotta protect ourselves and our loved ones, self defense is a god given right to all. God bless and stay safe.

    Intelligent & factual based review. I own the LCR myself and never feel under equipped when carrying it. It’s the perfect choice for non permissive environments and one can often forget they are carrying one due to both its balance and weight.

    First time I shot it with my glove on because the recoil was a little too painful for me and I could not even find where all the bullets went from about 3 yards away. After 50 rds, I was done and ready to sell it. But I decided to give it one more chance, I practiced with dummy rounds with dry firing. After a few mouth, and I shot it again without the glove, and I got about 5 inch group from 7 yards away, and I know I still suck, but sucked a lot less than the first time. So the key is the trigger pull and practice, and I think I am going to keep it.

    I think I just hit 10 years with my LCR 357. I have a lot of Glocks and some others too...but the LCR makes it in a lot of times as a BUG or a primary gun for working out, running, and in the woods given I can use snapshot, 357, and/or 38's of all variances. I also own a SW 442...and after a few thousand rounds...the trigger is 'almost' as good as the LCR but still not the same. I run the XS big dot sight and the Crimson Trace Grips on all my carry guns - including the LCR. Your review was wonderful - in the end...when I'm old...I get the revolvers will still be around in my life when the semi's are long gone. Simple, effective, reliable....the rest is just fun....the LCR truly is a great gun.

    The LCR .327 is now available (327/357 are similar in short barrels) and it gives you 6 rds not just 5. XS makes a big dot glow front site, no gunsmithing required. Sticky Fingers pocket holster (size MD-5) is perfect.

    Outstanding down to earth review of a great gun. I own the .357 Magnum version and it's fun to shoot, I sometimes enjoy shooting the .357 rounds but mostly stay with 38 special plus p. The 110 grain in .357 is actually a lot of fun and not much more kick than a hot plus p.
    I have boot grips and also a full size grip for my LCR but always go back to the original hogue tamer, it tends to grow on you after you've carried for a while.

    I have this in .22LR and .327 Magnum. I like the feel of the stock grip, but got a Secret Service rosewood grip for the .327 (EDC) for minimal size and so it won’t tug at my clothing. I do wish the trigger guard were a little smaller like on the J-frame. 1/4 inch smaller would make a difference, allowing the hand to be higher and lessen the felt recoil a bit.

I love the simplicity and reliability of revolvers though, outside of this Ruger, i haven't found any revolvers (in a normal price range ) that are ergonomic. Hope to see more of your videos. Best wishes!!

    Love mine. I invested in two things to make my LCR better. Underwood Xtreme Defender ammo all copper spun rounds and I changed out the front sight for a fiber-optic green sight . Love it and hard to argue with not carrying it often either pocket or appendix.

    This gun is amazing. Yes, it hurts to shoot after a while, but it’s purpose is to save your life. not shoot 500 rounds at the range in a afternoon. The grip does sit in my hand at a angle that makes me shoot slightly higher than normal. I have overcome that with a bit of practice. Big fan of this revolver

    Great video!! I just purchased an LCR chambered for 9mm ACP. it was great to see your side by side comparison with a Glock 19 because that is my main carry weapon. It is great to be able to shoot the same 9mm ACP out of both weapons. I need to use moon clips with the LCR but that is not a problem. I can carry the LCR in an ankle holseter and the Glock in an IWB. Great weapons systems!!! I also love RUGERS and have an old Ruger Speed Six chambered for .357 magnum.......too heavy but a reliable cannon. Thanks again.

    I admit that I watched this video because of the Cold Steel "Tuff-Lite" knife. I'm a knife guy every bit as much as a gun-nut and IMO the "Tuff-Lite" is a much under-rated self defense knife. There are places where you can't carry a more substantial blade due to ridiculous laws, and this knife makes a great self defense weapon in those areas. Still,...good review with solid reasoning.

    Great video. I grew up with revolvers, and I love their simplicity. Wether it’s a middle of the night break in while are emerging from sleep or a situation on the street, with a revolver, there is no safety to click off, no hammer to draw back, just bring the weapon into your hand and you are ready. I live in Florida, where on the average I am wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts. This limits CC options. This Ruger would fit easily into a pocket.
    I just need to decide between .38 or.357.

    I like the LCR a lot, but my edc is a Ruger SP101 loaded with 110 grain Win. .357 mag hollow points. It's a heavy gun for it's size, but a good gun belt relieves much of that. I mean unless the 4oz are absolutely necessary it doesn't really make sense to limit yourself to just .38spl. Even if you never want to fire .357 the few extra ounces should help in control of some hotter .38spl rounds.
    .357mag really ain't that bad.. It's not a plinker but once properly trained it's some good assurance your 5 rounds would eliminate any threat or threats.

    Question mark: why is the 9mm version much heavier? Answer: apparently they use a stainless steel frame on the 9mm, but aluminum with the 38 Special. Second question: if the aluminum rated 38 Special can handle +P, why can't the 9mm handle regular 9mm (not +P)? Thank you very much for the size comparisons, and thank you for carrying to help keep us customers safer. I will probably start out with Hornady Lite as well. It seems very capable for self defense while kicking a lot less.

    Buy a SCCY Pistol 10+1 shoots like a revolver. READ THIS :
    SCCY vs. Sig P365 & Others
    The SCCY CPX-2 has a long ,very
    smooth,trigger, {very stage-able} is the same height, & same
    width, 0.1 longer, 4oz. heavier, has FULL steel Rails for a nice
    tight fit on the slide, built better, can shoot 9mm +P's, 10+1, comes
    with 2 mags {flat & pinky rest base plates for each mag} , is
    extremely accurate, has an easy long smooth D/A trigger pull & has a life time, no questions asked
    warranty, that follows the gun, NOT the purchaser, & is only
    $249. {sometimes $199 on sale} Extra mags cost only $15 {10 rounds}.
    So, no disrespect meant at all but
    I would highly suggest you give the SCCY a fair chance as well. {
    It's like a 10+1 revolver } You'll be very happy.
    I've had mine since 2015, NOT ONE
    HICCUP !!!!! { That's True Calib } bought 2 extra mags {4 total }
    runs very reliable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If SCCY ever changes that
    trigger, Sig & any other Manufacturer done for.
    { On sale now $199 @ sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com 5/25/2019 }

    +P hurts like hell. With .357 Magnum you'd better have damned strong wrists.

      There are some good low-recoil ammo options that will still give you good ballistics: Liberty Civil Defense, Ruger ARX, and full wadcutters. It’s a be-there-for-you and save-your-life gun, not a recreational gun, but those three ammo choices are good.
