    ahhhh yes, Absinthe - tastes like licorice flavored jet fuel. My thoughts when trying green fairy overseas was "someone would have to take so much of this if they were trying to see the green fairy, that they would be puking licorice flavored jet fuel for hours"
    Thanks for covering more practical applications of it

      Just trying to get people to see there is a reason it has been used for thousands of years as medicine. Heck its mentioned in the Bible as such. There is a reason it has been naturalized here

    The Green Fairy! just for fun I checked out where to get it here and our local nurseries carry it. It has a lot of great properties, I really should add this to my herb garden. Thanks for the info, I also have never heard anyone talk about his as a medicinal.

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  11 месяцев назад +2

      You should totally put it somewhere. It's pretty resilient and it doesn't mind being neglected in the watering department. Absolutely helps out with digestive issues and some of the clinical research that has been done has me flabbergasted why the US Food and Drug administration still has this listed as dangerous. Just a fair warning though, making a tincture is a much much better alternative to an infusion as it is just so bitter, it's hard to get down

    Post gallbladder removal, I have learned more than I want to know about it. It is my understanding the gall bladder stores and regulates release of bile, produced by the liver, to assist in break down and absorption of vital vitamins and other key items we need... My issue is I truly have symptoms of some intestinal parasite... Doctor ignores my observation...so I will treat myself. Thanks..good informative video. Just an Old guy... 5:37

    Mom would always plant wormwood in the planters by the door. To keep the mosquitoes out of the house. It’s a bug repellent. I still remember Absinthe from the movie Eurotrip Lol. Scotty doesn’t know.

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  11 месяцев назад +5

      Bahahaha. I honestly don't know if it repels bugs. I planted it right next to my rosemary which definitely repels bugs so I guess I just assumed the rosemary was still doin it job. Funny story, when I deployed to Afghanistan, on our way back we were in Germany for a layover and we all bought German Absinthe. Then customs told us we weren't allowed to bring it stateside when we got in Maine. So Anthony doesn't know either

    Really enjoying your videos Palmetto Prepared! I had to leave western NC and moved to eastern Washington. Just listening to you talk takes me back to NC...almost (LOL), but what I really appreciate is your straight on discussion as well as disclaimers. I found this plant growing next to my old gravel/dirt driveway. It's very pretty and smells so good! I knew it was medicine for sure and used the plantnet app. to identify it and everything else that's new to me here. Good health and happiness to you!

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much!!! I spent a good 5 years of my life stationed in Eastern NC and 2 years in Statesville so I know the state fairly well. This is one of those absolute powerhouse plants that you are very lucky to have already growing. I've used it so many times this last 2 years that I honestly can't imagine NOT having it.

    • @pttpforever
      @pttpforever 4 месяца назад

      @PalmettoPrepared after 30 years in WNC and many trips to the eastern part of the state, I can tell you for sure there are just as many differences as there similarities! But basically, it was just too crowded over time. That's one of the reasons I moved.
      Anyway, I was happy to rub fresh wormwood leaves over any exposed skin today so the skeeters wouldn't poke me while trimming up the bit of Pine woods we have here. Ponderosa, mostly with a thick layer of needle duff all damp from recent rain. And I know you know how certain bugs with vampire leanings live that! And so do certain mushrooms that should be coming up soon. Shaggy Manes I know for sure. I'm so happy to have the time now to explore, study and get ready for what's coming.

      I take it as needed. For parasites, would be a few weeks. Just know it's mildly toxic so make sure you take equal time off that you're on. So if i take it for 2 weeks, then i give myself at least 2 weeks of not taking it to allow my body time to process it.
