Bill, I actually have tears in my eyes as I watch these videos. For my sisters and me, LIS was one of the greatest memories of our childhood. I never tire of watching the episodes, and coming across this today, all I can say is WOW! What a spectacular accomplishment. I'm heading over now to watch Part 2 and 3. I can't believe how cool this is. I phoned & emailed my sisters so they can see this too. This is truly the most wonderful thing I've ever seen in all my LIS internet explorations.
Dear Bill: I never thought that anyone would ever build something with such detail and detail about the episodes too. This is beyond words. God Bless you Bill. Got to visit this set. Victor B9-0082
All I can say is "Thank the good Lord for syndication." I grew up watching the re-runs of this and Star Trek along with so many other great shows from the 50's and 60"s. You did a great job and I wish I had the skill to convert my basement into something like this.
What is more impressive than your ship is your memory of the show... So many specific, unique, factoids about specific episodes. I mean, man, you are a fan of "Lost in Space"!
This is amazing, William. Such faithful attention to detail _and_ original pieces. The Jupiter 2 and The Submarine Seaview are my two favorite craft of the wonderful era of '60s sci-fi. Very well done.
Bill . Hedges did an awesome job of the original replica of the. Jupiter 2 spaceship it really takes me back to those days when it aired daily and me and my family did not miss it and thank you very much . Bill for your blast of a tour on your remake much love to you ,bye now.
Awesome, especially the "view" outside the control room view ports, very inspired. I always wanted to have a huge aquarium, with one side built like the view ports of the submarine Seaview taking up one side of the living room.
Wicked Awesome Bill! Would love to see it in person! I could trade a visit for an Amphicar ride! Another blast from the 1960's past! Nice work, thanks for sharing.
This is really FANTASTIK! It makes me so happy to see other people that were inspired by Lost In Space and the Jupiter 2! I must confess that since I was about 6 yrs, old I wanted to build the Jupiter 2 . A complete replica on it's original landing pad and live in it as my house! This reminds me of that so much and I never outgrew that desire from nearly 50 years ago! Mr. Bill Hedges, you did a magnificent job and thank you for posting this great video so well done!
bewiseasowls I too had the same thought.Infact I was thinking about it yesterday. Would be great to have hydraulics and like a huge computer monitor to make it feel and appear you are taking off and flying through space :)
This is really cool Bill :) Awesome work ! Keep it up ! Thanks for your love of Lost in Space, you have done what other fans of the show would love to do !
Wow i am envious you done a excellent job lost in space was one of my favorite shows when it first aired in 1965 it made me want to be a astronut as a young kid please keep up the great work they didnot do the remake of the tv show into a movie justice i hope they will do another one with them either making it back to earth or to alpha centuri but better yet maybe do another series if they find great writters and cast but make it a serious one not camp it like it was done in season one.
If you search RUclips for "Cosmic Films Studio Tour" I have now expanded beyond this set and have now finished a partial exterior Jupiter 2 hull and surrounding planet.
@harpo103 A couple of the original props I have came from another collector who bought them from a prop house. The few others were ones I bought on ebay. However most of the panels are just replicas, made from plywood, new and old parts, and resin castings.... and lots of lights. Bill
Bill - you have done the impossible! Congratulations to you on your wonderful masterpiece! That has to be the only setup like that in existence. LIS was an inspiration to many of us and it still amazes me today. I 'love' Season 1 and wish TCF would colorize it. Your B205 consoles, did you build these from scratch? Any tips or recommendations on blue prints, build kits, etc. for the B205? I would love to build one as those are the crown jewels. Thanks for the tour and post!
WOW! Really cool replication of the spaceship. You must have a ton of time on your hands not to mention some deep pockets...I'm Envious. Say, I've always admired the Krell Lab from Forbidden Planet. I wonder how one would go about reproducing that. Would probably take an old deserted manufacturing plant and a ton of mullah to do a decent job though. Anyways, enough with all that equipment stuff...Let's hear a little more about that "Judy" doll my friend. Is she as detailed & functional as the other props? Curious minds want to know.
Walmart has a Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet for $20. You could add it to your collection because he was in a couple of episodes of Lost in Space. I would love to see a 1/6 scale B9 robot from Lost in Space that I would add to my collection.
@voyager202000 Thanks, only in my daydreams did I ever consider a full size Jupiter 2. This was my more pragmatic approach, and it took me a whole 17 months.
Our generation had the best fantasy TV entertainment experience ever created. Black & White only made us apply our imagination more. Even as a child I thought Batman was ridiculous. Lost in Space forever!
Awesome job!!! Two questions, did you ever consider doing a full scale model (if you could afford it) and how long did it take to do all of your room? But great job of re-creating of one of my favorite ships both interior and exterior.
+hamiltonpl; Bill, you're out of your fakkin' mind - in a terrific way. Thank goodness it's just a prop - the 'Hyper-Atomic missile out the window. Did you contact the 'Ghost Planet, and ask for the blueprints as well? This is THE coolest Jupiter 2 tribute room. Can Iwe all come over? Please?

Great job, I have fond memories of the show as a kid. it's nice to see that people still remember it.
Wow, that is exceptional, I think you should have published this into a book!, I'd love to see this in more detail. Thank you for sharing. :)
That missile shot at the Jupiter 2 was one of the highlights of the series, along with B9's count down to its impact.
Fantastic Bill!
I envy your collection (and knowledge!).
This is amazing, William. Such faithful attention to detail _and_ original pieces. The Jupiter 2 and The Submarine Seaview are my two favorite craft of the wonderful era of '60s sci-fi. Very well done.

A smaller version in the back yard would be a great playhouse for kids.
I gotta take my hat off to you, fantastic work.
Superb attention to detail, must of taken a long time to do. Good that you got it on you tube for everyone to see.
This is really cool Bill :) Awesome work ! Keep it up ! Thanks for your love of Lost in Space, you have done what other fans of the show would love to do !

You have the potential to do it too. If I had land out in the country, maybe the Dakota's, or anywhere away from the city, I would make the attempt.
