Byblos is originaly a christian city and still is majority christian . This is why foreigners will be most comfortable there .. if you saw a lot of women in hijabs walking arround , they are either syrian refugees or tourists from other arab countries
I have visited 82 countries and Lebanon is definitely in my TOP 3 !!! Amazing nature, very rich culture and history, very welcoming and friendly people, crazy nightlife and very yummy food (I mean really really yummy) ! Beirut has it all ❤ ❤🇱🇧

I'm a Lebanese living in Lebanon I & I met 4 young American ladies yesterday at a local coffee shop & they said just that. They actually agreed this was the best travel experience they have ever had, almost teared-up like a little child when they said it 🤣 It's tough for us Lebanese to cope with the daily challenges, no doubt however this country & its people are an absolute haven for tourists. Loved the video, they however missed out a bit on sampling some outstanding local delicacies, hope they'll do so if they return ❤

WHOA! That's quite a place! BTW, not only was Byblos a port from way back but this was where the Classical Greeks would get their papyrus from Egypt- and often large scrolls of it! Anyway, the city name became the ancient name for 'book' as a result of this . .and yes the Bible got its name from it due to the original meaning 'book'. Oh and it's no coincidence that the word for 'library' in Portuguese 'bibliteca' derives from that! And, it's true that Lebanon is well known for its trees which is WHY the Cedar of Lebanon is on its nation's flag (and Lebanese cedars were used for much of Ancient Egypt's furniture,etc.). What a beautiful and fascinating place! Thanks for sharing that with us!

Lebanon looks great and modern. I did not know it was so different from other middle eastern countries I have visited. I am from Greece and thanks for this video. You have inspired me to visit Lebanon. I have always wanted to go there because of my archaelogical interests (wanted to see Baalbek) but now that I saw the beauty of this country and similarity with Europe, I want it even more !

Great video to show case the Byblos area and surround! One correction though, all the chain of mountains that you see are ski resort, and not on the border with Syria, if you drive only 30 mn up the mountain you’ll be on a ski slope, ski in the morning in April then down to the beach within half hr drive!

Wow, you both really love walking! You’re the only vloggers I seldom watch riding taxis after taxis to go from one place to another. In fact you don’t, you prefer public buses or trains. I think the weather is also comfortable enough for you to walk around the beaches and historical sites this time spring. Cedar trees are famous in temples and houses during ancient times. Even in Biblical story, Israel import cedar tress during the construction of their temple and palace. Thanks for featuring Byblos. It’s the oldest inhabited town in the world while Jericho is the oldest city! Love to see you include historical sites and museums not just beaches all the time. Byblos was a major centre for the Crusaders in the 10th and 11th century. In fact Tripoli, Beirut, Saida and especially Tyre. A fascinating period in history.

There is a lake or river (I can’t exactly remember which) that’s so cold, if you place a watermelon it will explode! Yep, my family member from Lebanon told me …I’m Lebanese
My parents are from Lebanon and I remember mum telling me the beaches have rocks. She showed me photos , there rocks were charcoal colour BUT they were where you walk and lay down to tan! Ouch! I’m guessing over that years they pushed the rocks to under the water..that’s why there’s so many rocks in the shallow parts.

It takes at least 10days to visit all the great sightseeings in Lebanon: -Historical sites include: byblos, batroun, jeita grotto, kannoubin valley, bekaa valley, baalbeck, beirut dt and Rawche, faqra, laqlouq and qurnet l sawda mountains, "cedars of God", - religious sites: christian and muslim: lady of harissa and harissa cathedral, jesus the king, st charbel monastery , mohammad el amin mosque and st georges cathedral, maqam Khawla(descendant of Hussein)... - nightlife: donno from where to begin, to sum up: batroun and byblos beach parties, beirut rooftops... U can add the 3 ski spots during winter time and the beaches of course in summer I love my country Enjoy!

Minor correction, the Crusaders did not come East to convert anyone as claimed in the video, but rather to take back by force what Muslims had conquered from Christians, by force, five centuries prior. Indeed upon arrival East in the 12th century, the Crusaders encountered a population that was still in its majority non-Arab and non-Muslim.

During the Hellenistic period (330-64 BCE) Byblos became most famous for the production of papyrus which would give it its Greek name.
So they got the papyrus from Egypt and made production in Byblos

Byblos was a major centre for the Crusaders in the 10th and 11th century. In fact Tripoli, Beirut, Saida and especially Tyre. A fascinating period in history.

Was in Byblos in 2001 , loved it there. Really want to go back . I remember the cafe called "The Rock" wonder if it is still there.
I went there to the beach with my mom and family when I was 4/5 now I’m 12. Such good old days ❤

You crack me up Chris! Your half shaved head would just be considered normal here in the U.S.. Though it is mostly the women here (young) that do this it would not even get a second notice. Maybe not even a first. Oh, those clear colored pebbles are actually pieces of glass that have been well worn due to the constant rolling that the waves of the water provide. Actually very beautiful.

There is a lake or river (I can’t exactly remember which) that’s so cold, if you place a watermelon it will explode! Yep, my family member from Lebanon told me …I’m Lebanese
My parents are from Lebanon and I remember mum telling me the beaches have rocks. She showed me photos , there rocks were charcoal colour BUT they were where you walk and lay down to tan! Ouch! I’m guessing over that years they pushed the rocks to under the water..that’s why there’s so many rocks in the shallow parts.
it depends which beach your mum went for, there are a lot of sandy beaches like that in tyre and jiyyeh
There are rocky and sand beaches. It depends on the region your mother came from.

It takes at least 10days to visit all the great sightseeings in Lebanon:
-Historical sites include: byblos, batroun, jeita grotto, kannoubin valley, bekaa valley, baalbeck, beirut dt and Rawche, faqra, laqlouq and qurnet l sawda mountains, "cedars of God",
- religious sites: christian and muslim: lady of harissa and harissa cathedral, jesus the king, st charbel monastery , mohammad el amin mosque and st georges cathedral, maqam Khawla(descendant of Hussein)...
- nightlife: donno from where to begin, to sum up: batroun and byblos beach parties, beirut rooftops...
U can add the 3 ski spots during winter time and the beaches of course in summer

Minor correction, the Crusaders did not come East to convert anyone as claimed in the video, but rather to take back by force what Muslims had conquered from Christians, by force, five centuries prior. Indeed upon arrival East in the 12th century, the Crusaders encountered a population that was still in its majority non-Arab and non-Muslim.
