@@JumpingPlaces Well, until recently, it's been chaos there with all the demonstrations and economic collapse and so on... so it does effect tourism there. Who wants to visit a country while they're going through a revolution? Now things are starting to go back to normal.
At the 15:50 mark, the “pools” are indeed man-made and are used to evaporate sea water to make salt. You will see more elaborate ones still in use today up and down the coast from Batroun. The salt harvesters used windmills to pump sea water into pools of varying depths. As the water evaporated they moved the concentrated brine to a series of progressively shallower pools. At the end of this process all that’s left is crystalline coarse sea salt, they then used wooden rakes to harvest the raw sea salt that they then laid out in the sun to dry out. Made the mistake once, as a young child, of swimming in one of these pools and it is hard to forget the feeling of that super salty brine on even the tiniest cuts on my skin and in my eyes!

@eat $hit repeat Today we are releasing "Hip and Wonderful Barranco Lima Peru 2022" - We really enjoyed spending time in Barranco, hope you enjoy the video.
Since you're wondering why Lebanon is so green, it's because of the Mediterranean climate and Mount Lebanon. Due to its height, Mount Lebanon ensures a high level of precipitation by forcing the humid Mediterranean air to rain down. In addition, the mountains feed numerous rivers and streams due to the snowfall in winter and the subsequent snowmelt in spring. Egypt, Oman and the United Arab Emirates all have hot desert climates. Jordan, on the other hand, mainly has either a desert climate (hot and cold) or an arid steppe climate (also hot and cold). However, there are also areas with a Mediterranean climate which are mostly northwest of the capital Amman, such as Irbid, Jerash and Ajloun. By the way, you went to one of the highest places in Mount Lebanon (1700 meters above sea level), of course it's still cold there, but don't worry, such mishaps make your videos really funny and authentic 😉 I'm looking forward to your Greece videos because I don't know much about the country and hope to get a better impression of it through your eyes 👍🏻
@@amerhijazi7632 I know that Qurnat as Sawda is the highest peak in Mount Lebanon but I was talking about inhabited places. I love the video! :) beautiful places. I like Chris's style of filming. Especially the waterfall and the scenery. The "pools" are to get salt when the sea water dries. Just a fun fact. So I am from Batroun and the building w the court next to the church and the port @12:00 is actually a private catholic school. My mom and the entire side of her family went/go to school there. But I just attended scouts there. I did go to both churches when I was younger (before we moved) cuz my parents went to both. @20:05 So White Beach has actually gone thru so many name changes throughout the years. When I was younger it used to be called Blue Beach (idk u it's called different colors) but there was no entrance fee cuz it wasn't owned by anyone and it had no bar or chairs. U get ur own. Lol funny that u said that Batroun is similar to Byblos but busier cuz a few years ago Jbeil/Byblos was actually the more popular one where everyone went to for nightlife. But once restaurants were built along the sea and everything was renovated, Batroun became more popular. And in my opinion they ruined it but they recently got rid of all the local shop owners and they made the Souk into a nightlife as well. W restaurants and DJs. Before it had like a fishery and a butchery...a shop where they built custom frames....a computer lab... vegetable stand.... Also the place ur staying at it probably was a home that they used. But when Batroun became popular and the locals needed the money, they tried to take advantage of it by opening stores and food stands from their homes and air B&Bs. It's cute and I'm glad that it helps them. And it's fun when u wanna go out but sometimes when u think back about how it was like, its no longer this unique city. It's just very touristic which is very annoying. But I'm really glad u enjoyed the city! And yeah the electricity sucks. Fries everything electrical. But that's the experience of living in Lebanon lol 😆
As a lebanese living abroad that has moved recently out of lebanon, the main problem in Lebanon is politics, geo-politics, and extreme corruption, the government is not good at anything, and the people that seems to be living a natural life, are self made people around lebanon working for international companies. Lebanese are getting used to this corrupted system and are taking initiatives to compensate the lack of public services by adapting to any situation, and this is why you can still find many Lebanese people living their lives normally despite the lack of basic services, it's a shame for such a beautiful place to have so much problems.

Hi, Jumping Places. Lebanon´s City Biblos is interesting. It isn´t a lot of beaches but the ancient architecture creates one historic scope and ideas over the lifestyle of your habitats. The surprised waterfall is the only one in the world for the form. Ok, passed you one happy while. Thanks for the video.

we have been presented with a completely different description of Lebanon since I was born in Iran, illustrating it as a poverty-stricken nation, tyrannized by Zionists, everybody is under severe oppression, everybody's famished and starving, women are literally covered in long robes and burqas, no beaches let alone walking on the beaches, and lots of other devastating stories leaving you paralyzed with sadness and feeling sympathy for the Lebanese all the time. and the worst thing is that we as Iranians are so naïve and gullible to still feel the same way to the extent that we have almost forgotten our miserable situations and hardships we are suffering from, though. thanks a lot sir for shattering all those illusions and revealing the truth to us. Never have we ever been so manipulated and brainwashed in our life. what a fool nation we are.
@@bcvxx8688 bro it’s in the Middle East , west Mediterranean, it’s close to Europe as it borders Cyprus , and close to turkey , but it’s not Europe tho it was a European colony for decades
hey guys! the waterfall goes into a series of caves underground. until now no one knows if it exits from somewhere else or stays under. lots of speleologists have tried to determine where the water goes using different techniques but with no result. this used to be a virgin place with no manmade additions. unfortunately they keep transforming it. the "pools" in batroun are actually manmade and were used to withdraw salt from sea water. regarding the weather it gets sunny and hot in summer so starting may-june till august september depending on the years... also we have cool ski spots during winter if you like winter activities. hope you enjoyed your time :)

those little "pools" on the coast of Batroun are basins for evaporating sea water to produce sea salt
Balou Bala. Balou (بالوع ) sink, Balaa (بلعا) the name of the village. The sink of Balaa.
Epic video about the mountain and the coastline. Batroun is very authentic.
Thanks for visiting and posting. Enjoy your next destination.
I'm live in Lebanon and there are a lots of places I didn't visited 🥺 and I don't know about them but I am so happy to see how many people come to Lebanon and like our beautiful Lebanon😍😍
Spectacular video of that special waterfall. Awesome video. So well done. ❤
You guys could have asked anyone about anything and they would be glad to help you and guide you where to go and what to visit.. next time you come to Batroun make sure you try the lemonade, it’s what Batroun’s really famous for.. and we have another local beer called colonel beer you can visit a place called colonel beach where they serve it.
I am so glad you came to Lebanon during spring time it’s a good time to see Lebanon’s nature. But you must also not miss visiting Baalbeck, Tripoli, Saida and Sour/Tyr.
Wonderful country, i would like to visit it. Nice video 👍
We wait you for the next videos in lebanon thank you for sharing this beautiful video 😍
Enjoyed the Lebanon trip with u guys. The coolest waterfall is in Guyana, Brazil’s neighbor to the north. World’s largest single drop fall. It’s called kaietuer falls. U got to see it.
Great job guys. Can’t wait to see where u go next.
Thank you very much, Very nice video about my homeland.
we have been presented with a completely different description of Lebanon since I was born in Iran, illustrating it as a poverty-stricken nation, tyrannized by Zionists, everybody is under severe oppression, everybody's famished and starving, women are literally covered in long robes and burqas, no beaches let alone walking on the beaches, and lots of other devastating stories leaving you paralyzed with sadness and feeling sympathy for the Lebanese all the time. and the worst thing is that we as Iranians are so naïve and gullible to still feel the same way to the extent that we have almost forgotten our miserable situations and hardships we are suffering from, though. thanks a lot sir for shattering all those illusions and revealing the truth to us. Never have we ever been so manipulated and brainwashed in our life. what a fool nation we are.
Really enjoying watching your videos. Especially the last few from my favorite country in the world :)
Great to see places most of us would never think to visit. You’re educating us, great service. Stay awesome 🤩
True 👍
Boy o boy, you guys are such tough guys. Constantly jumping from country to country. Stay young.
Another great video. You always show interesting varied places - nature hikes, beach, souq, church, restaurant food.
Chris... Lebanon's beaches really gives me Mediterranean vibes.💎✨👌
Except less crowded and cleaner 😀
Lebanon is Mediterranean ☺️
the small pool in the rock were usually used to extract salt from sea water
Love your videos. Lebanon is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for reminding me to go back to Lebanon very soon. Safe travels. Love your adventures 😎❤️
Lebanon is one of the most ancient, diverse and beautiful countries in Europe. It's among the most interesting places in southern Europe.
Lebanon is not in europe
@@zn5244 Lebanon is in europe

The pools are for salt production. The big fans were uses to rotate water pumps to pump sea water into the pools to evaporate and collect salt after
your comparison to Malta is spot on. Good video but I'd suggest you guys number your videos in each country so that we know where to start.

Stunning waterfall and a great way to end your Middle East trip!!!
Very nice video showcasing Lebanon! ✅
So glad you went here...a real eye opener.
hey guys! the waterfall goes into a series of caves underground. until now no one knows if it exits from somewhere else or stays under. lots of speleologists have tried to determine where the water goes using different techniques but with no result.
this used to be a virgin place with no manmade additions. unfortunately they keep transforming it.
the "pools" in batroun are actually manmade and were used to withdraw salt from sea water.
regarding the weather it gets sunny and hot in summer so starting may-june till august september depending on the years...
also we have cool ski spots during winter if you like winter activities.
hope you enjoyed your time :)
