My wife Stel and i watch every new episode each morning with coffee. In between episodes we watch one of your previous episodes which were uploaded before we discovered your channel. You both have become like family to us, as we are an old couple (70's) who have been married (49) years, and were never able to conceive children. In this episode, we could feel the frustration from Carol about her passport issues of always being singled out , and then later when we saw her almost decapitated by that careless boatman we were thinking, "this is not her day." I immediately told Stel that the tide had probably risen, thus causing such a close call. Please be careful on your adventures. We love you both, for who you are, and what you do. STAY SAFE 🙏
Greece is extremely diverse in terms of landscape and culture, which is why it is so interesting. It's a small country, but endless in fact. If you have the impression of a blue white country, then you haven't seen anything, I am afraid.
Yes we haven't seen much yet, only cyclades archipelago which is mainly the white and blue style. nice to see other places that are completely different :D
Kastelorizo is the Heart of Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷... i cant wait to visit is just soooo beautiful ... i was supossed to go this August but unfortunatlly i had to cancel my holiday plans ..xxx First God next year !!! Xxx
I was there and in Kas almost 40 years ago. I had a wonderful time. Everything has changed… There was no regular ferry service. Only boats around were fisherman boats that you could hire. Tourism was in its infancy. The nice thing was that there were few tourists. And the whole place seemed unspoiled. Glad that you are enjoying yourselves… Anyone planning to go to Greece this year…Please be safe. The weather is getting horribly hot every place, but especially in the Mediterranean. Hikers are dying from heat exposure.
Mandraki is an ancient harbour and plaka is actually slab like marble slab ,apparently ancient neibourhoods were called so. This is what I learned living in Greece.
lets be honest, the food they ate was really bad. And the Taxi chaffeur actually almost killed her by driving into the cave without warning her. It literally almost cost her life. Check this.. 14:45
Mediterraneo is a wonderful movie based in the island of Kastellorizo. I watch it every August to get ready for my september Greek islands holiday trip. I always wanted to visit that island but it's remote and complicated to include in my usual trips, thank you for showing it for me!
I was yelling at the tv with how close your boat driver got Carole’s head to those rocks!!! More beautiful than the Blue Grotto that’s such a tourist nightmare in Italy. Planning a Greek Island trip based on these videos @jumpingplaces💙
That was absolutely crazy how close Carol came to hitting her head at a fast rate of speed as the boat captain sped up at the worse time for safety sake!! Literally thank the gods or just luck 🍀 because that could of been the end. But nothing happen with Carol, and you both were able to enjoy your day and your future together! 💞
Lovely. Greece has 6000 breathtaking and unique islands aside a breathtaking mainland. The couple in the video also only just visited less than 0.01% of the total islands they visited and likely they know nothing of the Greek mainland. Hence I love all the "you dont know this or that Greek island." Greece is absolutely stunning. Too bad so many people miss out on 99% of Greeces many wonderful islands and even more so the mainland, full with 80% vast mountains and spectacular scenery. And Greece has many many architectural styles. Even on the Cycladic islands there are not just white houses with blue domes. It differs everywhere. For example Syros is the capital of the Cycladic islands and are very pompous in architecture. And dodecanese has many different styles architectures. And its different on many other island groups or on the mainland, differing in many regions. Try to travel a bit more across Greece. just visiting Mykonos, Paros and Santorini means truly nothing when you know all of Greece's diversity
Whew Carol, that was a close call, I saw your IG story…..this video showed just how quickly you had to react to avoid injury! Glad you’re ok. Beautiful and very unusual island, the drone shots showed it so well.
The funny thing about Cyclades (central Aegean) islands is that in the past the houses there were not painted white cause, if they were, the pirates would locate the islanders' villages more easily and attack them. The "white houses" is a quite modern feature of Cyclades islands architecture. Probably it is a way to avoid absorbing two much sun heat. Also, it is worth noting that the population of Castellorizo in late 19th century was 10,000 people, but by 1920s about 8,000 had left the island to emigrate to Australia, mainland Greece, Egypt etc..
Very ammmazing and peacefull Greece. Things you have to know about the border control between the europian union and Turkey the recent time because of the refugees, thats why it took too long time, but i understand your feel😊
Actually the ruins of a fortress are located at a different place on the island. The place you were visiting was not a castle but a Lycian tomb later included in the defense structures of the island capital. The military ships in the habour are an indication for the ongoing conflict between Greece and Turkey, especially regarding the border in this area
Hi my dad was from there! Have visited stayed 4 days enough to see the island! Did love having dinner at night by the sea in the moonlight! It was once a great port and busy with over 8,000 inhabitants until they built the Suez canal! Many people left the Island beginning of 20th century leaving their homes behind and starting a new life in USA or Australia, France or Brazil!
Hiya, I am a few videos behind. School holidays here. Having a binge-watch now. Shame Carol has to deal with that. About her passport. Beautiful drone footage. Lovely island. Gorgeous views from the castle. A beautiful spot for lunch. Wow. The turtle. How cool. Lovely private, boat tour. That was scary, and lucky Carol had the space to move down. Since you're into religious places, the Dodecanese islands offer the Monastery and Holy Cave of St John on Patmos, and the Monastery of St Michael Panormitis on Symi, both major pilgrimage sites in the region.

Your travel vlogs really stand out from many out there ! Some little info here, if it helps : "Mandraki" means "little fenced yard" mostly to keep animals in. Many suggest that "Kastelorizo" derives from the Italian "Castello roso" (red castle) from back when Venetians held that area. It's a pleasure to watch your videos, keep them coming...

helps : "Mandraki" means "little fenced yard" mostly to keep animals in.
Many suggest that "Kastelorizo" derives from the Italian "Castello roso" (red castle)
from back when Venetians held that area. It's a pleasure to watch your videos,
keep them coming...
Thanks for the info! Very helpful :D
