Clay, I threw your name into the search to see what you've been up to...watched the whole video. Really enjoyed this one. Started smiling about that little patch of land that had quail behind your house. Right there between your house and the golf course. Pretty close to where we caught those sketchy fish that had tumors on them. You also mentioned all the turkey back in the day. I remember waking up one Saturday and we counted 30 turkey in my dad's pasture. We almost had to tie down my grandfather "Poppy" because he was a big turkey hunter and he couldn't understand why we wouldn't shoot them. It was a fun time and place to spend your formative years. Even though my body is in Austin, my heart is in the Ouachitas. :)

This was a great video. Hard work, family raising, and bear hunting. Love it.
Bear hunting was the first season i got into when I started hunting when I was young and it’s my favorite season to this day. It’s more exciting to me than deer hunting. Such an awesome creature.

Louisiana just announced that they're going to open a bear season next year (I'm sure a very limited one, but still). The current sentiment on bears here is exactly like what Clay was talking about at around 15:00 - we hate them. For the last few decades, as they've become more and more prolific, they've been vermin that eat our feed, destroy our feeders and ruin our deer hunts, but unlike hogs, we couldn't shoot them. So it'll be very interesting to see if that totally changes over the next few decades, like it did in Arkansas.

Social media and commercialization has hurt hunting big time. Our future generations will not have the hunting opportunities we have. It will be a rich man's game. Pay to play.

Ben a fan of clays way back to his magazine and before meateater. Loved meateater before it blew up. But as it is now and after it blew up, it ruined hunting for the majority of real hunters. High dollar hunting has never been worse. Public land has never been worse. All pushed to terrible bounds thanks to these social media hunters making a buck. I wonder how these guys will be remembered once they’ve completely killed American hunting?
