Warner Glenn reminds me of the man that I work for part time at the moment. During the week I teach in a small school in Montana, but on the weekends I work as the night calver during the spring calving season on a ranch. The old man who's family I work for is 85 and just as sharp as ever. He still works incredibly hard, and can read when a cow is about to calve better than anyone I've ever seen. He was an incredible pilot back in the day and used to fly biologists to do game surveys, take hunters to remote areas, etc. He's always up around 5am, when I'm close to ending my shift and he always comes down to the barn with coffee to visit with me if I'm not caught up with something. I love hearing stories and wisdom of 80+ years as a rancher, pilot, hunter, wild land fire fighter, and miner. These men are to be treasured, and more of their stories need to be told.
I cannot express how excited I am about bear grease becoming so big, Clay has become my favorite guy to follow. The way he goes into subjects with such genuine curiosity and the depth of the research he gives to subjects is honorable. Not to mention the quality of topics he chooses, Warner Glenn is a look back to a by gone era but at the same time an idol for young men of today to strive for. The world needs more Warner Glenn's and Clay Newcomb's.
I'm 60 yrs old and I remember readin stories of Warner Glenn trackin Lions back in my 20's in Outdoor Life, Sports Afield and several other publications, he's the Master Lion Hunter!
I come from an open range ranching community, Meeting Warner through your interview has made this One of my all time favorite meat eater episodes. Thanks Clay
Mr Glenn reminds me of my grandfather, a lifelong rancher and one of the toughest guys I’ve known. He lost a hand in a roping accident mid-life, but kept on ranching. Godspeed to the Glenn family and others like them everywhere!
Warner G. is my cousin! I really admire this man and his family! Have always enjoyed visiting the family ranches in Southern Arizona! I enjoyed listening to the Bear Grease Podcasts they did on Warner and his daughter Kelly and granddaughter McKenzie! We shared these Podcasts with all the family and many friends! 🤗💕
Clay is a great part of Meat Eater and Mr. GLEN is an American icon and some one that we all could learn from and should strive to be more like every day.
Part of what is so great about the Meateater organization is how well they incorporate incredible hunting stories with incredible life stories. Going into an episode I never know which will be the focus, but I always know I will not regret the time I spend watching. Well done, and thank you for sharing the life story of a man who the world needs to look up to.
Clay is an outstanding story teller. I’m thankful he joined the meat eater team. Clay knows how to find those salt of the earth people that a lot of us hunters draw our inspiration from. Thanks clay your awesome 👍👍
Warner reminds me of a man named John Vincent in my early career in aviation as a young A&P. He was a A&P mechanic crop duster CFI multi rated pulled banners a real cowboy in the sky. We flew flew everything everywhere. He was so fun to be around and I would weigh in his every word. I still cherish the years we spent together. Great video. Thanks
Clay is a top notch guy who gives credit where credit is due. The same can be said for Mr Glen. I think I can truly say I’d trade time off my life to spend a day with Glen. We need more men like him passing wisdom on. Goose bumps the whole episode. He’ll probably never know I wrote this, but thank you for being a true American hero.
Hands down no question Mr Glenn is one of the toughest men in America today. He has to be!!! 86 years young and cattle ranching!! I mean c'mon man!! He's working circles around most young men these days, absolutely incredible. He's from another time, they don't make em like him anymore. I know, I'm 40 and he's tougher en me!!! I'm not ashamed to admit it!!! Fantastic!!💪💪🤘🤘🇺🇲🇺🇲♥️
16:00 is why hes 86 and in good shape, my grandfathers 84 and doesn't look a day over 65 he still gets out and hunts whats in season, chops his own wood and keeps busy. He is always up for learning and likes to try new things.
Just when you think Bear Grease can't get any better, it goes to video! Great job Clay and the rest of the Bear Grease crew. Thanks for doing what you do.
Warner wrote a book, including the photos, of the Jaguar encounter called "Eyes of Fire" it's an amazing story. Warner is essentially a Louis Lamour character, a larger than life cowboy. The Glenn's are an American treasure.
Mr clay ive been a fan for a long time of your bear huntn content. But this is even better if it could be! O especially enjoy the respect you pay to the older hinders and houndsmrn in your shows . Thats speaks volumes for you as a man. I appreciate your homage to the hunters that gave us what we have today thank you so much for brinithis to all of us
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed watching this The history of our country from the field to the table of what has fed our nation for generations. ❤ thank you
What a life!!!! This could be a video filmed 100 years ago!!! It's awesome to put a face to the podcast. The podcast was great and so is this video!! Anything with Mr Clay, count me in. That's my dude!!!
Reminds me of my dad! 71 and still ranching! We hunted and ranched in central Idaho and had graze permits in the mountains. I saw a lot over the 21 years I lived that life!
This has to be the absolute best video I have ever seen on RUclips. I could sit and listen to Mr. Glenn and his Daughter tell stories for days. I love to watch these videos of the old timers hunting cougar’s on dry ground. Nothing better than watching a good hound working a track.
Only a few tear were shed watching this!!! 😢 everyone may have a Mr. Glenn they can think of while watching this, but just having this tiny glimpse into this man’s life, indeed make me want to be a tougher and more positive person!! Clay count your blessings to have had this opportunity!! Can’t wait to see who you show us next!!
Loved this portrayal of a special place,an admirable man, and an important culture. Saw a lot of my grandfather in his mannerisms and love for others. With respect to the border issue, it was portrayed as a drug runner issue only. While that component no doubt is omnipresent, there are undoubtedly so deep and telling stories within those doing the running (often to save the lives of kidnapped loved ones back home). There are also stories of folks looking to better their lives from across Mexico and South America. They aren’t unlike pilgrims and European settlers of old who sought something better, somewhere else, and at great cost. Dehumanizing those folks a bit by suggesting only drug runners cross borders and only for nefarious reasons. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional. Look forward to the rest of the Bear Grease productions. Thank you!
Great job Clay and the crew for an outstanding film on a true legend and his wonderful family. We could only hope there is more men like Glen left in, and being raised in this world.
Boy am I glad I found this channel two people with mules horse's and hunting g dogs along with a working ranch hard working honest God fearing that's hard to find these days thank you both
What a great story! This was the first meat eater episode but not the last I’ll watch. A way of living as part of nature, it's wonderful no matter where you are in the world. greetings from Finland

A lost breed these days
@@gideonevans9717 agreed. Hopefully some of us can carry on that kind of legacy. It’s something I strive for in my own life
Well said, one can’t help but emulate those kinds of individuals
Couldn't agree more, man, couldn't agree more. Well said.
If possible get a camera and film these interactions,I would love to hear these stories before they are lost forever🎥

Born in Arizona 1980. Had no idea there’s jaguars coming up the country. Badass!! 💪🇺🇸💯
Very cool. I knew a cowboy once. He's been gone awhile. It was a privilege. He showed me few things. Rare breed.
Best part of Bear Grease and Clay Newcomb is the greatest examples of what it means to be a human.
Yes and Yes! Gotta love Clay "The Arkansas Panther" Newcomb. Thanks Clay and Thanks Meateater!!
Mr Glenn reminds me of my grandfather, a lifelong rancher and one of the toughest guys I’ve known. He lost a hand in a roping accident mid-life, but kept on ranching. Godspeed to the Glenn family and others like them everywhere!
