This is HKDL's reinventing of the Big Thunder Mountain with a few special additions including a launch and a backwards section and some exceptional theming including animatronics that make for a beautiful story!

What a fantastic use of space. Bravo to the design team!
That lift hill into the backward drop looks so fun.
It is, the Hong Kong version of this ride is far better than the version in both Disneyland and Disney World. I used to live a short train trip away from Hong Kong and I'd go to HK Disneyland and it was a great park. I'd ride the single rider lines until I got sick of riding and by that time, the city was starting to really wake up. It's definitely an underrated park IMHO.

If Expedition Evererest and Matterhorn had a baby, but then they got a divorce, and that baby was instead raised by his step dad Big Thunder Mountain.
it's basically Hagrid's but a little less thrilling. I bet Universal made Hagrid's based on this coaster, the simmilarities are clear

It looks like a really fun ride.
It is. The only thing that would make it better would be if they could have integrated a vertical drop the way that Universal did with Hagrid's motorbikes.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade i think it's safe to say that Universal basically showed Big Grizzly Mountain to Intamin and asked them to make it 10x better. Both are very simmilar, but Hagrids got everything Big Grizzly did wrong and fixed it all
So this was the inspiration for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure!? Wow, what a fantastic ride! Even tho it is 7 years older than Hagrid's, it still competes on almost the same level. Disney really knocked out of the park with this one
@ryan-uk6jf But it is common knowledge that Expedition Everest was an inspiration for Hagrids, but this one is not only simmilar but also almost identical. It has a tame almost completely horizontal layout, 2 direction changes with one of those being virtually identical to Hagrids spike and many other simmilarities. Hagrids is way better but the inspiration here is clear
@ryan-uk6jf Hagrids was INSPIRED, not a copy. Made roughly 20 years later, of course they'd add new features and elements. It's a mix of Big Grizzly Mountain and Expedition Everest, themed to HP. Universal Creative is full of ex-imagineers who worked on both projects. I'm not offending Hagrids, I'm praising it
And about it being common knowledge, it is mentioned in almost every history video about Hagrids
@ryan-uk6jf so name other coaster besides thoses 2 that uses the same kind of layout and different track segments and switches (while being heavily themed)

Weird. like cut and paste disney ride. A bit for here a bit from there and throw it all in a blender.
It’s terrible. Slow, slow, slow backwards, then slow forwards. Then over.
It's better than the versions in the US.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Not really. It’s a boring ride. The original Big Thunder railroad is much more exciting.
@@finned958 it is a lighter version (and probably also the inspiration) of Hagrid's. To me it does a perfect job for what it promisses. If they had more space it could have been more thrilling, but overall I can't complain just by watching the POV. It seens like it lacks force but looks very good as a ride in general
