After traveling and experiencing all the Disneys in the world, Japan's DisneySea is my most favorite. The people are wonderful and the park is outstanding, I can't wait to return and enjoy the new adventures that have been added to DisneySea.
The attention to detail and immersive theming truly make it a Disney Imagineering masterpiece. Thanks for capturing the experience in stunning 4K 60FPS - it feels like we're right there on the ride!
One of the best videos of this ride i've seen because it shows so much of the queue and the area outside the attraction that is all part of the ride's story. While Rise of the Resistance has the most elaborate queue and pre-show sequence of any ride out there now, the queue for this ride might still be my favorite, and the show building is unmatched. I'm biased but I really do think this is by far the best attraction Disney has ever created.
@@Aaakun054 Technically, no, it's not a roller coaster--the cars are powered the whole way, like the jeeps on Indiana Jones but without the additional motion bed. But the drop at the end is very roller-coaster-like. It reminds me of the backwards drop on Expedition Everest, but forwards.
This ride is wonderful and unique. I love the theming, the line, the whole experience. Can't wait to ride it again with my kids who were too small last time we visited the park.
The fact that the depth and pressure gauges in the Terravator actually move instead of being stationary really shows how much detail was put into this ride!
@@adamhandley9482yes! it's such an awesome detail and taken even further in the ride vehicles for this land's other attraction, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Now I know what I missed. In around 2009, my wife and I were visiting our daughter who was going to college in Tokyo at the time. She took us to Disney Sea and we got on this ride. We got on the elevator to the little tram cars, went through the line, got on the car and the lights went out and the red emergency lights came with an announcement in Japanese and English that there had been a power failure and we were to exit the ride. I wasn't sure it this was part of the ride and my daughter said it's for real so we were taken to a large set of stairs, which we had to walk down to exit the ride. The elevator was set up to make you think that you were going down instead of up. Glad I finally saw it!
I am the voice of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and I watch lots of these videos and I just cannot get over how damn neat this ride looks. I especially love cave rides and I feel I need to get to Japan.
I also watch these videos and am a super fan of Disney theme parks and had to do a double take seeing this comment lol. Love your work in the ToT!!!!!!
I rode Tower of Terror at Disneyland in California. Worst ride ever. I still cant believe how terrifying it was. I also can’t believe how many people love it.
I feel very lucky to have gotten to ride this during my all too brief visit to Japan. Didn't manage to get on 20,000 Leagues but this was an amazing ride. The attention to detail is what really does it, down to the lava engulfing the water fountains in the queue. Really top notch.
Not only one of the best dark rides I have ever done but one of the best rides I have ever done period!🤩😁😁😁 The imagers and the Oriental land company did a fantastic job with this thing😊
Awesome ride. Most dark rides just don't make use of the vertical plane enough. Or at all. I guess Spiderman/Transformers and what not try to simulate a drop at the end, but I mean they're not like Fire in the Hole or something. That has a little drop here. Or climbing a hill here etc. For obvious reasons. But it's pretty cool how towards the end the ride goes into Test Track style and does make use of up and down movement. There's a literal drop in there that looks pretty solid. It even makes use of banking. Good stuff. It does that little bit more.
It is, sort of. This is supposed to be a side project of Captain Nemo as depicted in Disney's film of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" (unlike the Jules Verne novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth", in which Nemo does not appear--this ride really has little to do with the novel).
That's only partially true. Disney doesn't own or operate Tokyo Disneyland. They just license their IP and ride systems. Disney definitely doesn't put as much effort and attention into their parks these days though.
It's the benefit of having another company owning and operating the parks on Disney's behalf (Oriental Land Company). The big reason Disney goes so hardcore with the Tokyo parks is because they're not the ones on the line for the bill; Not only is OLC responsible for the costs of new additions, they've been far more willing to give Disney almost bottomless budgets to work with. Essentially, another company pays Disney for their creative work, and they tend to let Imagineering have a lot more creative control over projects. This combo is why the Tokyo parks consistently feature some of Disney's best work, despite not being owned by Disney.
Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are owned, operated, and maintained by the Oriental Land Company, not Disney themselves. They're the only Disney parks in the world Disney doesn't directly own; so Disney is more willing to greenlight more expensive creative projects over there, because the OLC foots the bill, and Disney profits from their brand being used. In exchange, OLC gets the best creative output from Disney Imagineering (because they're willing to pay for it), and they maintain the quality of their rides better than any other theme park, which is how they ended up with the greatest Disney parks in the world.
I would love to know what them green squiggly things are at the beginning of the ride … this has to be my top ride , the theme is spot on , the attention to detail is outstanding.
It’s because this park is run by a company that still cares about the guest experience and not just about the money. Even the food in Tokyo Disney is extremely affordable compared to the US parks.
Tokyo Disney is what you get when the ideas that come out of Disney Imagineering actually get fully funded. Disney won't spend the money these days but OLC will.

The talent that made this have long since left the company

the lava monster has quite a lot of similarities to the alien from the old alien encounter attraction at WDW
Honestly reminds me of the same style of track as Radiator Springs Racers. Hopefully someday I can ride this!
It is the same “slot car” track technology as Test Track and Radiator Springs Racers, yes. It has real hang time out of the volcano though.
Nice attraction for Tokyo Disney Sea.
Looks like you walk to the center of the earth!
WOW! Disneyland in Anaheim needs this so bad.

Great video, may I ask what camera you used? The footage came out amazing for a low light ride.

Wish we had this at the American parks.
I don't really see many people point out how the lava below the lava monster moves
Also, there's a ride vehicle in the lava, implying that one you see turn the corner before you got caught!
Japan knows how to make rides better than Disney. Disney world needs a ride like this.
That would require money and effort. Now a days, Disney's not about that.
