Okay, amazing video. Having said that…
Solving for the nonce has nothing to do with complex mathematical equations. Think of it in terms of trying to guess any plausible combination on a locker room combo lock. Bitcoin miners (ASIC’s) simply guess combinations of numbers very efficiently and extremely fast. Even with mining pools it’s ultimately a well organized lottery. Hashing power is helpful to beat the odds.

Great video and explanation. I don't think bitcoin is immune to geopolitical factors so depending on what happens this week think that could increase selling which may provide a unique buying opportunity pre halving but I also think FOMO is working to off set that selling in some ways. I'll continue to DCA and keep it as a reasonable percentage of my portfolio like I do everything else regardless. To your point no one knows. Expect continued volatility though for sure. Thanks for the video!

Crypto is heavily manipulated by whales. The main form of liquidity in the crypto market is stablecoins, the most dominant of which is Tethers/USDT, and Tethers/USDT will likely be banned in the EU zone becuz Tether issuer cannot even comply with basic of regulations. Apparently, opening bank accounts is nigh impossible for Tether, what a fraudulent market. If Andrei wants to do an educational series, then he should start talking about the shady actors behind crypto.

I'm currently mining in my garage. I can switch algorithms and coins so that's not an issue but what happens to bitcoin when the miners can't afford to keep the equipment running? If the security of the project is built by the miners then when they can't support it anymore it becomes very weak. I'll have to switch to a different algorithm on the 20th.....pretty sure a good amount of other people will as well. My electrical rate would have to drop to .04 cents per kilowatt to turn it back on. Just a thought I'm having. Sure the value will increase for now but...........
If no want mining, the normal pcs or nodes will happily do the job. If those who already gain from holding it, they will volunteer to run as a node too evytimr they turn on thier pcs

I would've totally bought the bitcoin playing cards if I would've known in 2018 what I know now. I always have such a hard time explaining it to people and I feel like (at least some elements) would help gamify the experience for them.

Something doesn’t make sense about the ETF’s unless they’re not required to actually buy bitcoin. If the flows are as big as they imply the price would be continuing higher. The only thing I can come up with is they aren’t really required to buy bitcoin with the money going into the funds.
I've been thinking the same thing. Absolutely massive NEW amounts of BTC being bought everyday. Tons of hype on the halving and etfs. And yet every time I look away for a second BTC crashes. Something seems off.

Bitcoin miners are not actually slow or inefficient. Quite the opposite. What they do is solve hashing algorithms in the fastest and most efficient way possible.
In terms of electricity usage, generally speaking they buy the cheapest energy which is often renewable, wasted or otherwise unused energy that would normally never be sold. Surprisingly this is actually good for the power grid because it incentivizes energy producers to build out more cheap energy that otherwise wouldn't be economically viable. It also helps stabilize the grid because they are one of the few industries that can dynamically increase or decrease demand in response to electricity prices in real time.

NEVER go all in on any one asset. I'm splitting between bitcoin, ethereum, and solana. Half a million Shib (because the developers make better excuses than promises). The rest is going into high yield dividends where it's guaranteed to grow by over 10% per year. I also own a little silver.
