I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.
True, I mostly just buy and hold stocks, but my portfolio has been mostly in the red for quite awhile now. Unfortunately to be able to make good gains, you’ll need to be consistent and restructure your portfolio frequently.
In my opinion, it was much easier investing back in the 60s but it’s a lot trickier now, those making consistent profit in these times are professionals reason I’ve been using an advisor for the past 5 years to consistently build my portfolio in preparations for retirement.
My partner’s been considering going the same route, could you share more info please on the advisor that guides you?

I completely agree with you! My first 100k took a long time and wasn't that special to be honest with you. Once I hit 300K that is the game changer in my opinion. At this point my money is basically making me a pretty good yearly salary. When I go to sleep at night I know my money is making decent money with the help of my FA!

Glad Michael Saylor addressed the confusion of digital currency, gold, property, etc. since there is a heated debate going on if Satoshi purposed Bitcoin as peer to peer currency (electronic cash system) or property (electronic peer to peer asset), with naysayers claiming it is a failed currency.

I have a pre-war apartment in NYC. When I moved there I wondered why everyone used pre-war and post-war terms for residential buildings. One quickly learns they mean WW2. The housing shortage after the war meant many buildings went up with shoddier materials and very elementary designs. Moldings and maid’s rooms etc etc went OUT and basic square boxes of rooms were in. Even the exteriors are less pleasing, often with white bricks.

Good interview. There were some blind spots to it. No addressing the energy intensive nature of Bitcoin. Also what happens whenever it becomes the trend for Central banks to become ever more hawkish and set interest rates above real inflation where it was always supposed to be to begin with.

Biggest lesson i learnt in 2023 in the market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and follow a strategy with a long term edge.
Nobody knows anything; You need to create your own process, manage risk, and stick to the plan, through thick or thin, While also continuously learning from mistakes and improving.
Uncertainty... it took me 5 years to stop trying to predict what bout to happen in market based on charts studying, cause you never know. not having a mentor cost me 5 years of pain I learn to go we’re the market is wanting to go and keep it simple with discipline.

I just want to see a debate between Peter and Michael
lets say there is a 5% proability Saylor is correct - in beating terms one would at least wager 1-5% on his vision - if he is correct it is 100 x payback - so one dollar becomes 100 dollars or you loose one dollar - that is a $ 6 mm dollar BTC or 15% of all assets in the world .... priced in BTC lets say its a 10x payout - one makes 10 bucks vs looses a dollar - i think probaility of BTC being $600 k is 25% - so now my wager should be larger ... the odds and payout are better then Belmont, Lotto, insanly better than 30 yr T-Bond, Wynn Casino etc etc .... are they better odds than the 20% of russell that is a zobmie company - 50% better odds ... a 5% global allocation of instutional investor gets a $3 mm plus BTC according to Kathy Wood - you see game theory yet ?

somebody could explain if to get bitcoin or any criptocurrency anybody needs dolars, euros or others currency that fact isn´t tied the criptocurrency to a type of currency?
what happens if all or most of BTC get lost somehow. For example passwords of those wallets storing BTCs are lost? so are BTCs stored in wallets?! so, how come something like that which can be lost but cannot be reproduced will be a digital gold or a digital asset or something reliable.

Is there a law that prevents the government from issuing a 6102 on Bitcoin? This is one of the major concerns right now with buying into the ETFs vs self custody.

More and more Central Banks buying GOLD fits perfectly into the Bitcoin Value Proposition since they are finally backing up their FIAT currency with an actual reserve asset with "market-determined" value. A juncture surely lies ahead when these Central Banks will find BTC a more attractive reserve asset than a laggard like GOLD.
The perfect currency IMHO would be one that has an exact ratio of dollars to population. This would eliminate aggregate inflation & over time, would be slightly deflationary due to innovation & manufacturing processes.
The 'value' of this currency would be the PEOPLE, not a basket of goods, oil, gold, etc. When you limit the supply to the amount of users, it will retain its value.
This could be easily implemented in America, simply by making a Constitutional Amendment, authorizing the Treasury to get a monthly census from the Social Security Administration as to how many in use (living) SSN's they are tracking. The Treasury would then be responsible for creating those dollars, in a direct ratio to the population. If the population increases, so does the money supply & the Govt. gets a bit 'extra' to spend into the economy. If population decreases, they must withhold the appropriate amount of currency, taking it out of circulation, that the government would have less to spend into the economy.
And this would all be debt free money... No Federal Reserve necessary. Once this policy would be implemented, the current Federal Budget would be cut in half in five years, due to current govt. bonds coming due. This would destroy the bond market, but who cares, that's a terrible system anyway.
I'd even add to the amendment that the govt can NEVER borrow money... Period, not even for war.
To my mind, this would make the US Currency system the strongest money in the world and Bretton Woods could be reinstated.
