More stuff like this! Anytime you can get any of these heavy hitters to tell you what makes them lean towards a particular shot and why or why not you know you've struck gold. The inconsistent wedge flight bit too was so keen. Loved it

I’m 15 years old and play off 21. The best iron shot i ever hit was an 8 iron over a copse of trees and onto the green within 3 foot of the pin. Just bought the Taylor Made deluxe cart bag and winning the irons would be a great addition to my new amazing bag!

Love listening to Collin walk through his thought process in these situations. My favorite iron shot ever was in a round with my brother-in-law’s groomsmen the day before the wedding. Was fairly new to golf and the worst one there. On a par 3, about 160 going uphill, couldn’t even see the green. I pured a 6 or 7, but couldn’t actually see the ball once it landed. Got up to the green and was about 5 feet from the hole. It was closest to the pin for the entire group. Still ended up with a par though lol

First off that jacket is so cool. This video was super fun to watch and helped give insight into different ways to hit different shots. Reminds me of this flighted draw 9i I hit from 152 at a local golf course, I pushed it a tad right off where I wanted but the green sloped heavily from right to left and it rolled 35 feet down the hill and went in for my longest hole out eagle yet. Great video.

Best iron strike I had was a 9iron into a green on a par 5. Beautiful draw into the right side middle of the green with a back center hole location. Landed about 4 ft from the hole and holed out for an albatross. Best memory in golf today. Better than a hole in one.

Collin hits it so pure and is obviously and supremely confident in his equipment. My most memorable and best shot I ever hit was a 4 iron second shot, draw into a par five at a new course that my dad took me to in advance of a big tournament he was playing in and secured me a spot as well. Not having played there and not having played in a month, i was just swinging smooth and the blades were doing the work (well, a little extra curve was being played on that one) and I managed to birdie what almost was my first eagle. A special moment for the golf and more importantly a special moment shared with my father. (He was my one and only teacher who was right handed while I'm a lefty on the golf course).Interesting how Collin makes some of the same comments.

Love Collin; such a great ball striker. My best iron shot: I started playing golf a few months ago after graduating college, using my late grandad's clubs (burner plus irons) finding something to occupy my free time outside of my new adult life. It has become an obsession. My girlfriends dad took us to a golf club for us to play a full 18 for the first time earlier this summer and it was quite challenging, to say the least. I had some decent shots and mostly bad shots the entire time, and her dad having decades of golf experience on me made it a lot more embarrassing than if I were with anyone else. On the par 5 18th hole I hit one of my tour response balls ob and had to take a drop where it was a downhill shot playing around 135yd. With water to the left, I pulled out my 9 iron TaylorMade burner plus (the only club in my bag I was comfortable with at the time) Took one practice swing, and lined up the shot. It felt like I thinned it, my heart sank in that little moment before you look up at the ball after you follow through. The ball flight was amazingly straight, and landed and rolled up to about 2ft from the hole. We were all just amazed, they clapped for me, and it was the best feeling I've ever had playing golf. Even though I shot +100 that day, that iron shot was the reason I left that course feeling like I broke 90 (my new goal now) and hoping I can go back with the skills I've grown and practice I've put in since then. Thank you TaylorMade! Instagram @victonio14

The best iron shot I’ve ever hit has got to be my first hole in one from 227 yards. I hit a smooth 4 iron that started at the hole and never lost its line. Unfortunately I didn’t see the ball go in, but the feeling of walking up to the green and finding your ball in the hole is awesome!

Best iron shot I’ve ever hit: had an amazing stroke of luck and got to go play pebble beach. On the 8th hole, I hit a sweet 3 wood up to the cliff side, and followed it up with a beautiful 5 iron curving right to left from the wind, landing perfectly next to the red pin. Missed the putt but shot 73 that day 😳😳

Best iron shot I've ever hit goes back quite a ways. I was 13 or 14 and playing a round with my Grandfather who taught me how to play the game. We were on the back 9 of his local course and I was lying 2, slightly downhill, with about 120 to go on a par 4. I pulled out the tried and true 7 iron, listened to a little advice, and gave it a swing. Hit it clean as could be and felt like I was watching in slow motion as the ball launched, landed about 20 feet from the pin and started rolling, with a slight break to the right, before it dropped straight in the hole. First birdie I had ever made. Couldn't believe it and of course my Grandpa was just as happy as I was. One of my favorite golf memories. To top it off, my Grandpa was on the green with about a 30 ft putt for birdie, he stepped right up and drained it. My best iron shot, back to back birdies, and a feeling to chase for life. - @rilo_james

Favorite iron shot : Hole #5 Golfmohr - East Moline, IL (visiting Aunt Mae in 1985) ACE with my Lynx 6-iron, 146 yards. I hadn't been playing well, and I was determined to give the ball a good WHACK. I remember that the ball SOARED, just like the pros. The men on the next tee started clapping, and I couldn't see my ball on the green. My aunt said, "Take the cart!" (I was walking) I forgot to lock the brake, and the cart started heading for a bunker!! (I stopped it in time) I didn't sleep one wink that night. I also had NO CLUE that I was supposed to buy drinks in the clubhouse (weren't they supposed to buy ME drinks??😝) Now I play TaylorMade M CGB irons, and M2 woods 🤗 GOOD LUCK at the BMW, Collin!!🍀 (I'll be streaming)⛳😊

The best iron shot I’ve ever hit:
It was July 5th, 2014, on my 13th birthday!
Before every round I would watch Tiger Woods (My idol) highlights. I live in a very windy City and I became obsessed with the “Tiger Woods Stinger”. On this particular day I watched a RUclips video “Tiger Woods - Stinger Pro Tracer (2I, 3W and Driver) 2014”. I would then go out on the course and try to imitate Tiger.
It was an overcast evening, I was on a Par 3 and I had 146 yards to a pin tucked back left and over a ridge. The wind was howling at 40mph straight in the face and I knew it was a perfect time to try and hit the low draw Tiger Woods stinger. I pulled out my #Taylormade Tour Preferred MC 5 iron and took aim a few yards right of the pin to account for the draw. I put the ball back in my stance and visualized Tiger hitting this shot in my head. Once I pulled the trigger I knew it felt flush. The ball started a few yards right with a tight low baby draw working back towards the pin. My playing partners and I knew it had to be close but we couldn’t see because of the ridge. When we walked up there was no sign of a ball on the green, so we checked over the back, but still nothing. My heart was racing as I tip-toed over slowly to the hole with one eye open, and sure enough… it was in!
To this day, I still have my #Taylormade Tour Preferred X Golf Ball in my bedroom with “1st Ace!” Written on it
What an awesome moment and fantastic birthday gift!

Best iron shot I’ve ever hit was a 170 yard par 3 over water to an island green featuring a front pin, hit about a foot in to the left of the pin and stuck. Best iron shot I’ve hit: I’m still relatively new to golf, I played for a year as a kid and got back to the game with 23.
My swing recently got pretty good and there was that one time my ball lied about 150 yards in the semi rough. I still needed about 200 yards to the green on a par four hole.
So I decided to grab my 6 iron, an iron which I practiced a lot lately since it was the one that worked the least for me.
I had a pretty hard shot to hit, I had a tree in front of me, and some other obstacles, I basically needed to work the ball slightly right to left and high enough to get over the obstacles and obviously far enough.
I gave it my best I could give and just got that sweet sweet feeling of hitting the ball exactly in the sweet spot. The sound was one I never heard before, it was such a swoosh and I could not even see the ball flying. I wasn’t normally getting these shots and the ball flew way faster than usual that’s why I didn’t see it.
When I looked for the ball I walked and walked down the hole only to realise I hit the green and landed next to the flag.
It was such a great feeling and such a happy moment in my golf career, I hope I can get to a level where I can hit these shots as often as possible.
Good luck to the other participants and thanks for the chance to win.

The best iron shot I’ve ever hit was just this summer at the beautiful golfcourse of Oberkirch, Switzerland on hole 9. It's a 154m Par 3, downhill and straight in front of the clubhouse with water in between. Short right of the small green is also a water hazard that leaves you hit a little fade into. Wind from the left that day and also very warm temperatures, thats gona be just a smooth 7 iron for me (playing old 1993 Mizunos cavitybacks from my uncle with weak lofts). I teed up and imagined the shot I want to hit, trying to get all the people at the clubhouse watching out of my head, I just focused on thrusting my distance and seeing the shot in my mind. Hit it so pure, started to fade just as I imagined and came down not even 1m short and stayd right at the spot. I was so stoked and seeing the peoples reaction gave me goosebumps, that feeling walking towards the green I will never forget! Everything was just perfect!
    Cheers

Give or take maybe my 3rd or 4th time golfing, went to a course way out of my skill range, after wanting to give up about 30 times (I’m 14 at this time)… I crank my best shot ever (at the time), a 6 iron sent about 190 straight to the pin and here’s me and my buddy thinking wow that was actually good until we hear “NICE SHOT TIGER”, sprinted to the green to see the greens keeper in his cart and my ball in the hole. From South Africa. The best shot I’ve ever hit with my irons is when I used my 4 iron on a par 4 to position it in the middle of the fairway at 220 on the 5th hole at Humewood and then hitting my second shot within 5 meters with a 6 iron with the pin placed at the back and drained it in for a birdie. Best iron shot I have ever hit:
Background - Since 2000, I have been playing @TaylorMade 320 irons I saved for months working as a grounds keeper to buy in high school in MN to replace my grandpas hand-me-down Harvey Penick set. They are still in the bag along side a SIM driver.
I had a less than ideal senior year on the golf team in high school but turned it on in the section meet. On the 18th hole, a par 5, I pulled my drive nearly OB. iron shot #1 - hooded 4 iron under a tree limb curved perfectly up the middle of the fairway to leave 135 yards - my ideal wedge distance.
My coach was on the course and said, “I don’t want to pressure you, but if you birdie this hole, you make it to the cut to the second round” par meant the season is over.
The pin was tucked left on a lower tier with a back stop that would funnel as long as I hit the left third of the green. I took out the 9 iron and into a slight wind flighted a 3/4 swing right into the slope and it rolled to 1-2ft.
Drained the putt and made it to Sunday.
I played that shot on a round recently and still feels the same, smooth and solid with the trusty and timeless 320’s.

My favorite iron shot: I played in a Halloween scramble with a few friends last fall. I was fairly new to golf as I’d only been playing for around a year at that point. Each of the holes had a fun “trick” or “treat.” One of the par 4s had a wooden row boat set up near the green. In order to finish this hole you had to chip into the boat, instead of putt it out. We were around 140 yards out and it was my shot. At this point in my golf career I didn’t think I’d be able to even get it within 10 yards of the boat. I pulled out my beginner set 8 iron, took aim and gave it a mighty wack. The stroke was smooth and felt pure and I watched in slow motion as the ball soared towards the boat. Someway, somehow it dropped straight into the boat and we listened as it bounced around under the bench and came to rest. The crew went wild and to this day that was the most fun golf shot I’ve had. @andrewjohnsonkc

The best iron shot I ever hit was at TPC Sawgrass #17. I was playing the PGA Works tournament, we were on hole 17 and it was playing about 109yrds. I looked at my coach and I pulled out my Taylormade 50° wedge, told him I was gonna hit the ball a little low on the face but very spinny and that I’m confident I can get it to stop next to pin. It flew perfectly, took one hop and stopped 11 feet away from the flag. Made the putt for birdie, it was recorded and and featured on Golf Channel. It was one for the books. The best iron shot I’ve ever hit was on a cold day in December of 2021. I was new to the area which was higher elevation. I wasn’t used to the flight of the ball. The pin was 160 on a par three so I chose an 8 iron. I absolutely pured it and hit the roof of the house behind the green it then bounced back onto the green within 10 feet and I made the putt for birdie. It was one of the coolest birdies I’ve ever made ha.

My favorite golf shot: first off, I love Bandon Dunes. One time I was playing Sheep Ranch a year ago and shot the best iron of my life. I needed to keep the ball low because the wind was 40+ mph. I looked at an approach directly into the wind with a cliff down into the Pacific Ocean to the left. Any wrong trajectory or spin would put the ball in the water or into the gorse to the right.
I knew keeping the ball low into the wind was the right shot. So I remembered seeing tiger wood’s stinger tutorial and I had practiced it on the range several times but never on the course. I was 150 out and used a 5 iron, which is normally WAY too much club for that distance, but with the wind, I knew it was right.
I put the ball a half roll towards the back of my stance, I choked up on the club a bit, and came down to the ball while shortening my follow through 3/4 of the way than normal.
That ball stayed waist high for a good distance before finally pilowing up with the wind and it settled the ball just behind the pin, leaving me with an easy tap in birdie.
The feeling of that contact was like butter and it was by far the best stinger I’ve ever hit and it came at a time when I won money off of my buddy who I had been battling for 4 days at Bandon. It was an epic moment and I’ll never forget it.

    Best iron shot for me:
At my local golf course in Seascape, Ca, I was playing with a few buddies having a grand ol’ time. Seascape golf course is a nice golf course with a mix of trees, narrow fairways with housing surrounding the fairways, and tricky greens. On the first hole it’s a very very slight dogleg to the right with the pin location varying but mostly back left every time I’ve played. On the first drive off the tees it was low and pushed to the right but still managed to hang on the fairway by a hair. I was about 135-140yds out still and decided on using a smooth running chip with a 9i because if I landed it short, it was going to get a little extra roll clubbing up. Right as I hit the shot, I see my buddy on the green putting both of his hands on his head, jaw dropped, saying “Go in! Go in! Go in!”. I immediately ran to the green as quick as I could before the ball went into the cup and there you had it, she sunk it. It was only a birdie, but knowing that it’s only been a year and a half, maybe two since i started playing golf so I still have so much to improve on. But that shot alone made me feel like Collin Morikawa, dialed in! Even if it was a simple shot for most, felt like a tournament winner for me.

My best iron shot I’ve ever hit: I was 155 yards out. Hit pitching wedge. I was on the left side of the fairway with trees 60 yards in front, out of bounds on the right. I had to hit a draw around the trees in front of me. Hit a beautiful draw to about 12 feet. Missed the putt, but was such a great feeling to do exactly what I had to do to get on the green and not go into either set of trees or out of bounds.

My best iron shot was about 4 years ago. I was playing in Carlsbad with my dad and I had just started playing. I was having a really bad day and was very frustrated and ready to just finish 18. On 18 I hit a drive into the fairway and have about 160 into the green. My dad, knowing that I was ready to give up, tells me to put the ball in the middle of my stance, keep my hands forward and compress the ball. that was the first time that I hit an iron pure, and I have been hooked on golf ever since.

Im from South Korea, but im staying in the philippines right now. I tried to practice everyday but im getting hard time with struggling alone with the golf😅 Collin is my favorite player and i want to play and swing like him too!!!! I really really want his swing. But im little sad with his game these days. But when he played playoff last week and his game is getting better and hope to win in a BMW championship and TOUR championship too!!!! And my best iron shot I've ever hit was, hole number 4, 163 par3 front pin in Riviera golf club in the philippines with a 8 iron and I got almost to get the hole in one but, there was a green renovation that it could not roll at least one more roll to get in. Sadly I have no chance to get hole in one even until now. Thank you for reading my message!
Anyway go Collin for the rest of the games!!!!!!!!😀😀😀

The best iron shot I have ever hit was back in 2003 on the 15th hole at The Golf Club at South River in Edgewater, MD (before the course went private). After hitting my drive fat I had 190 yards to the center - uphill, slight dogleg left, over a waste area, to a front center pin. We're always told to envision the shot we want to hit. I saw a perfect 4 iron with my natural draw around the dog leg and over the waste area. This iron shot is the best two reasons. The first reason is because it was the first time (that I can remember) where I hit the shot exactly as I saw it. My 4 iron was perfectly struck. The shot drew around the slight dog leg, up the hill, and easily carried the waste area. The ball landed on the number in the center of the green before rolling back off the back shelf and settling 5 feet from the hole. To top it off, I made the putt for birdie. Admittedly I didn't envision the ball rolling back to the pin off the top shelf but I did envision using the shelf as a back stop to keep the ball on the green. Rolling back was a bonus for hitting the perfect shot.
The second reason this is the best iron shot I've ever hit was because two holes earlier I blocked a 2 iron right onto a homeowners deck. The ball bounced off the deck and broke the kitchen window. At the time I was newly married and a broke college student. I owned up to my shot to the homeowner but I had no clue how I was going to pay for the new window. To say I was rattled and my mind was no longer 'in the round' would be an understatement. Perhaps that's why I hit my drive fat 🤷🏼‍♂!?! Thus to hit my 4 iron the way I envisioned it - it is by far the best iron I've ever hit!

Best iron shot I’ve hit was in my district tournament of 2021. We were 1 stroke back from first and moving on to regionals. I was the last group on the course for my school. I had a bunker shot from 165 and I needed a birdie to tie us for a playoff hole. I stuck it 2 feet from the pin and made the putt. Our best player Josh lipped out during the 3rd playoff hole and we placed 2nd. Our team as a whole did not play regionals but we had a few individuals go on to play. Josh went all the way and won states. He shot a -7 round.

Club face always at the target and just changing your feed is the best and easiest way to subtly shape the shot that you need.
I try to be way too complicated with different shot shapes and that made it so much easier… You don’t need to turn it over more with your hand for a draw or try to hold it off for a fade. Just change your swing past to keep the club path same. Great tip!

The best iron shot I’ve ever hit happened during my Senior year of High School. It was our District Championship tournament. The tournament was being played at a links style course: fast greens, high winds, long rough, etc. The course was playing super tough that day with wind gusts of 25-35 mph and temps around 55°F. I was on hole 6, standing over my ball that had just rolled into the first cut. The pin location that day was ridiculous, and the hole was straight back into the jaws of the wind. The pin was tucked on a tight finger of the green, with a pot bunker short and a deep collection area with a hard chip long. The finger is probably ~4 yards wide. I clubbed up to a 5 iron because of the wind and my lie. I managed to hit a penetrating draw into the wind, and stuck the ball 4 feet from the pin for an easy birdie put. It was the best feeling ever. What made the shot even more special was that we won Districts that day and qualified for the State tournament as a team for the first time in 7 years. We won over the other schools in our league by a slim margin, so I often credit that iron shot on 6 as one of the key moments for both myself and the team. It was a great way to end my high school golf career. That was the best iron shot I ever hit.

I visualized and it worked. I didn't think it would happen the way I thought. That was 20 yes ago. I am now trying to play the game I love the best I can. I was Paralyzed 8 years ago from the neck down from a fall. I don't hit the ball that well anymore but I still play. I don't deserve new clubs because I suck really. But when you hit one pure there is nothing better.

At TPC Deere Run earlier this summer, on #18 I put my drive through the fairway on the dogleg right hole. Ended up having a tough lie in the tree heavy rough. Best guess was about 195 to a back pin but had to fully cover the water that surrounds the left side of the green. Only had about a 10-15 yard gap between the trees and had to keep it low to have any chance at the green. Hit a perfect punch 4 iron that went through the intended gap and covered just enough of the water to hit into the upslope of the bank and popped onto the fringe pin high about 10 feet away. Was fun to see the John Deere Classic a couple weeks later and the grand stands would have made the shot impossible to pull off!

I recently hit my finest iron shot, after a long but erratic tee shot I found myself on the next fairway to the right. The green was about 180 out but protected by a long line of trees between fairways and an enormous oak tree to the right side of the green. With strong left to right winds and the green tucked tight against the tree and the pin tucked tight to the front of the green my only shots were to hit something high and with a lot of spin over the tree and risk the wind taking it or a low flighted slinging draw around the mid section of the tree while using the trees to limit the winds affect on the ball. I chose the latter, grabbed my 7 iron, set up aimed right of the tree and finished low. The ball flew exactly as pictured and landed about 3 feet left of the pin. Being that I called the shot out to my buddies before swinging, all the bragging rights of the day were mine.
