Arc Sys has had their hand in tons of games. Mostly all 2 D fighters
At some point they will release a 3v3 mode so basically u’ll be playing FighterZ in GGS
My favorite bit of Guilty Gear history is that Bill Clinton presented a copy of the first guilty gear game live on TV one time and read the slogan "Kill your friends guilt free", and now there's a mod for STRIVE that replaces the fight intro with that

@@endersalasa3396 I don’t think the rollback is that bad but the lobby netcode is awful, as soon as you get into a match it’s fine assuming both of you have at least decent connections

Fun Fact:
Zato-1 is a refference to Zatoichi (ichi means 1 in japanese), which is a fictional blind swordsman, which is the basis for every blind swordsman with a cane sword/straight katana character in games and anime.
Nagoriyuki, on the other hand, is based on "Yasuke", a real life African Samurai who served under Oda Nobunaga.
Watched the hell outta that anime.
both Zato-1 and Fujitora from One Piece are based on Zatoichi
okay so for Nagoriyuki, his blood rage is basically a limiter mechanic that forces you to be careful when using his special moves, since they're really good and can be cancelled into each other. When you enter blood rage, you have the really long punishable animation to start, and then half of your health drains over the course of the rage. The blood rage super is the only way to end it manually, otherwise you have to wait out the entire thing. Also the super reaches fullscreen.
It's also, in the words of my nago main friend, a 'last ditch attempt to unfuck your situation'

Also when in blood rage all specials are locked except for the home run super. Which takes away fukio, his only real mobility option. With the addition of wild assault though going blood rage is actually kind of a viable option now.

if you wanna see the full specials, don't do it near the wall, whenever a character is hit with a "heavy attack" they do a Wall-break, that gives a positive bonus to whoever hit them trough, but it also cuts the animations of specials

The thing about Guilty Gear is that basically every character uses magic except Potemkin. Technology is banned in the Guilty Gear universe except in Zepp, the place Potemkin is from

When it comes to discovering Guilty Gear, you instantly have to check out the soundtrack (at least all the character themes + Smell of The Game, and Crawl). Not only is every song a banger, but the character themes and their lyrics give strong insight into the characters' personalities and lore.

them being sent flying back isn't exclusive to supers, its a mechanic called a wall break
also nagoryuki's blood rage super is one hit but it does massive damage and hits full screen thats why its good
I mean, its not good at all outside of one set up but that is why its not all that flashy.

Guilty Gear really is quite the interesting series, with cool and crazy characters, interesting lore, and amazing designs! I would recommend checking out the Instant Kills/Destroyeds from Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, which are super cinematic and well done for a game about a decade old. Though two Instant Kills, Faust’s and Dizzy’s, change slightly depending on the opponent and finding a separate video for the both of them would be necessary if you want to go through them all, but if don’t want to than that’s fine as well. Otherwise, keep up the good content!

@@ChocolateKieran It’s a pretty unique mechanic that’s been in most of the Guilty Gear games, as the name suggests, if it hits the opponent then it wins you the round, however it comes with a huge risk that if it is blocked or misses the opponent, it completely drains a gauge that is used to perform certain attacks and techniques and prevents the usage of said moves until the next round, when the gauge is drained it also gradually reduces HP until you are left with 1. It’s a high-risk high-reward move that is usually only used to end a round quickly or when one player is unlikely to win the round without it.
From what I can see. Ya' missed Ky Kiske's third Super (the only one with 3 Supers) which is more like a perma install.
And I-No's Super from very close. Some supers behaves differently if being hit from close or afar (not triggering the cinematic)
The Dio move from Axl does trigger after a bit by itself, Giovanna turns green when 100% meter which is a buff if not using Tension (like a Rage mode in Tekken), Nagoriyuki is more of a way to cancel your Install as it has cons like activating by itself which is punishable if not controlled, and finally Potemkin and Faust has different reactions from each opponents when landing their cinematic Super, in case ya' are curious.
Faust also has a third super where he throws more items than normal

Guilty Gear really is such a rock n roll love letter of a game. Sol Badguy's favorite band canonically is Queen. His headband has the words "ROCK YOU" scratched into it as a reference to their song. This game is full of sick references like that.@@ChocolateKieran

Personally, in term of characters design and music, guilty gear is my favorite fighting game.

Also all of them have their own theme song.
So extra fun fact for sol badguy. For his dragon install super(the turn into a demon/gear). He just takes off his headband which inhibits his true form. So it’s really a human uninstall

12:41 its a lot cooler than it seems - that move hits from fullscreen, plus it does massive damage and in english he screams "GET AWAY FROM ME" so bloodrage nagoriyuki is really scary

The funny shadow fella summoned by zato is his puppet and is named Eddie. He has a few different attacks which launch when you release the according attack button. Eddie meter (bottom left) can drain and unable you to summon him for a while. The sword super is a fullscreen projectile targeted at the enemy, it does less dmg than the shark one but it summons Eddie on the ground and refills the Eddie bar

one of Faust’s random items from “what’s this?” Is a meteor and I believe in a previous game there was a very very small chance for him to instead summon a massive meteor that covered almost the entire screen.
Also, that game has instant kill moves a few of which have really funny animations. Fausts and dizzy’s specifically are hilarious imo
As a potemkin main, he has a lot of other grabs. I recommend his air grab called "heat knuckle" and his air grab. Not the potemkin buster, but his air grab. You just press dust in air while holding back or foward.
So every character has their own theme that plays when you play as them. All of them absolute bangers. The one song you heard is called “Find Your Own Way” and it is the theme for Sol Badguy. I definitely recommend checking out the rest of the songs.

Guilty gear songs are really unique in terms of fighting game music, and they're absolute fire, too. You should totally listen to the different character themes.

The reason why they fly like that after your super is cause if you combo against the wall for too long or use a super the wall breaks and launches the opponent to another stage of the map

Oh yeah the nago blood rage is something many players need to get out of quickly, because you actively lose your health in it but also do a lot of damage
Guilty gear has an amazing cast of characters, goes from a really buff scientist (Sol Badguy) to literal furniture (bedman?)

You should hear the characters themes, they are really good, and maybe look up the lore of this Crazy world
With the vampire samurai guy giing into the mode for he second super drains half his health unless you use that move and going into that mode is by doing special moves but looking at its damage can be worth it
I saw 1k likes before getting to the end, because hot damn the DLC characters are super fun as well.
people might’ve already said this but The reason for Nago’s second super being underwhelming is mainly cause blood rage isn’t exactly a mode you want to be in you more want to keep it in the 3rd tier of his bar for the best effect, as blood rage drains your health and often spells certain death if you enter it without a plan, the second super acts as a panic button as it gets enemies away from you, deals a lot of damage, and gets you out of blood rage

Im loving this video, someone who knows next to nothing trying them out thinking some supers have no reason to be.... The Nagoriyuki one, the moment you go on "Blood Rage" Nago gets his life bar drained, the only way to stop it instantly is with is second super (also does like 70% health)

You should check out the Guilty Gear Strive movie just fun xd - You can watch it in-game through the "Story" tab. It's about 4.5 hours long though so watching it all through one sit-down could be rough.

@@ChocolateKieran The animation reminds me of Team Fortress 2 fan-made animations a bit (if you get what I mean), but it does exist! There's also a second part to the movie, but I think it comes as a DLC or something, that second part is less than an hour and features some extra characters too

i love arc sys. got first introduced w blazblue, then guilty gear w bridget back when she got pretty popular. love the style of this game. waitin for em to release library of ruina (they'll be licensing on the switch, game is made by project moon)
The OST in GG Strive is so different in a good way compared to all the other titles in the series. I still love the older soundtracks of past games but this is so refreshing. Kind of miss the Instant Kill moves for the extra flashy'ness but its okay.

Guilty Gear's characters are mostly references to rock and metal. Sol Badguy is a reference to Freddie Mercury's "Mr. Bad Guy".

If you have the interest in this series and the time for it i recommend the heaven or hell series by WoolieVS. Explains the dense ongoing lore up to strive over 4 and a half hours. Guilty Gear goes hard

tbh this game is worth it just for the movie if you're not gonna invest yourself into multiplayer... however, this game is hella fun too. roman cancels gives that game that "je ne sais quoi". gives so much player expression.

@@ChocolateKieran oh yeah definitely give it a shot! You won't regret it! I ended up training my whole friend circle how to play and now we get together every so often to drink and play. One of them is way better than me now though LOL. Sadly the online is pretty much dead due to no roll back netcode on PlayStation.
Oh yeah and every character has finishing moves as well! Popping one of those off in a match is always hype as hell.
