  • For today's unboxing review we bring you the all-new 2017 Infiniti Q60. It's an absolutely stunning luxury performance coupe, at least from the outside. It had its official debut last January at Detroit and now it's arriving in dealerships. And yes, this is Infiniti's answer to the BMW 4 Series Coupe and Audi A5. Stiff competition, yes, but Infiniti is definitely on to something good here.
    The exterior design, specifically, is stunning. In fact, we think this is the best-looking Infiniti to date. Our tester came powered by the optional 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, with power going directly to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic. Want all-wheel drive? That's an extra $2,000. So yeah, from the outside, the Q60 really can't get much better. Inside? Well, that's our chief complaint. It's not that the overall dash design is bad, it's just that it doesn't offer anything new. In short: it's boring, and that's a shame because Infiniti had a chance to do something unique here but didn't. A performance luxury coupe, especially one with an as tested price of $55,255, should make every attempt to push styling inside and out to the limits. But there's still no question here that Infiniti had done nearly everything right. Enjoy the review!

    I honestly think that this new Q60 Coupe design is way more attractive and appealing than anything that the Germans or the other Japanese competitors have out right now. I think the design of this car is THAT stunning.But... my opinion

    Infiniti did a phenomenal job with the Q60 design, the sport trims (S and RS) grab my interest most. However, I love how they offer several engines to cater to a different customer. The design language speaks multitudes of language. Very high end, sporty and classy looking. I love the 'simple' interior design, I cannot stand the busy interiors with 100 buttons to press. Currently driving a 13 G37x and LOVE IT. Enjoy buyers!

    Well, lots of things are debatable but not the fact that since the dawn of time, a base G35/G37 came with a V6 and was way faster than a base 3 series coupe, which is competed with. Yes, the Ms are faster but have always cost way, way more while having a much worse interior. I don't get why people always compare BMW's sportiest cars with other companies' regular cars. By that logic, to this day, BMW hasn't made anything faster than a GTR, so they've never had a Nissan beater?

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  8 лет назад +2

      BMW hasn't made anything faster than a GT-R because it simply doesn't need to. Nissan was more in need of a halo model to help define the brand. BMW, however, more than easily gets by with its "mainstream" models.

      CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars That's a silly thing to say. So BMW, who is into racing and making drivers' cars, who has a performance division and a 100k+ hybrid car does not want to make fast cars?

      Leo Wan I don't remember any M car doing 0-60 in 2.7 seconds a few years ago or tracking as fast. If they finally do, it'll be many years after nissan, thus my comment

      Exactly. I'd take any G over any regular 3 series. I'd take an M series over any G though. Well, probably The new Q is bad ass! One thing I'll give Inifintis is that they are more reliable and cheaper to fix when something finally does go wrong. I driver my '03 1st gen daily for work, it's got 197k and only ever broke a radiator hose, and the clear coat is peeling. That's it!

    I think the first generation audi a5 was the best looking car in this class. The q60 easily takes the lead on this one.

  • @chonaV
    @chonaV 7 лет назад +16

    You're nitpicking with it's interior. So what if the instrument panel is not full screen like the A4? You still see the same info. The dual screen makes sense and it's nice that you don't lose the navi when you just want to fiddle with other features. Yes, not as sleek as the center console of the C class, but how about that display on the C class that looks like a mini iPad placed on the dash. That said, it's interior design is just fine, and it's exterior design just blows everyone in its class out of the water.

    One of the main factors in selling point, if not thee main selling point...is the AWD option. Regardless of climate, I've always loved AWD, the handling is impeccable. I think it's a matter of personal preference, and opinion, not really a "need".

    Just got a 2019 Q60S.
    300hp awd. I'm not very old. Only 30.
    But probably one of the most comfortable drives I've had. The steering is something you have to get used to
    Tons of power. Just had it through the winter in snow.
    I never had an issue of slipping. Also didnt even have winter tires.

    good review. way too harsh on the interior, Jesus. Sounds like you drive a German car regularly, interior is all about what your used to. your misapplying the eco pedal, its obviously not for petal to the metal driving. hence the name. review a red sport, Why cheap out?? you have to spend time with this car to understand it, clearly you don't but good reviw nonetheless. I have been driving a red sport since it was released. slaughtering fools out here in the H! X)

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks! Sometimes automakers need a good punch to the junk, in this case with the Q60's interior. Infiniti had a yuge (Trump style!) opportunity to push the design boundaries of interior design but didn't. Also, I tried to get a Red Sport but one wasn't available.

      Vlad Zak Well depends on what version you’re asking about. My 2017 was a 2.0 and my 2018 is a 3.0. So I never experienced the 3.0 in the 2017 model. But I will say the 2018 is very responsive. The only thing is the delay of boost but that’s to be expected when dealing with turbocharged engines.

    I like the interior. Its very avant-garde and emotionally designed versus the minimalist approach germans take. Class to class this vehicle beats all of its competitors hands down and at more obtainable price point. Germans rely on name recognition which blinds ppl that their shit is really inferior when you REALLY look into them.

      AK Lawrence I would love to have this car I test drove it and it's way bigger than it looks on camera and the interior is a nice place to be I did think they missed an opportunity with their interior but I just fin I like the steer by wire system you just got to get used to it it's not bad or awful I don't know why people are bashing it and making it look bad it's just that when people go from mechanical steering to this direct adaptive steering it fells weird but you have to get used to its good to try new things don't forget Infiniti was the first company to come out with the 360 view camera and something else I forgot and this is a sports car and the red sport is something else but all and all I would have this over a Audi or a BMW but a benz might be tough Choice

    This is a really nice car. I think it looks better than the BMW 4 series and the Audi A5, but I think the Mercedes C coupe beats it in the looks department. The interior is much nicer than BMW, but I'd rather have the Audi or Mercedes.

  • @jluck1399
    @jluck1399 6 лет назад +1

    In my opinion the new Q60 has a beautiful interior but the exterior is its downfall especially the back, it just looks too bulky and also looks less sporty than the older models unfortunately, even if it has better performance than the older models I believe they could’ve done a better job with the exterior.

    I wonder how long it will be till the Infinity/Nissan brass figure out that it's no longer necessary to spell out "Infinity" above their logo. Mercedes and Audi don't need to write their brand name...the logo is all that's necessary. (think Nike, Pepsi too) I think Infinity can make that leap now. Marketing 101. Good review guys !

    Lexus builds better BMW fighters then Infiniti. Lexus has a whole F high performance lineup. I'm not sure what Infiniti has... they made a powerful engine for it but honestly it's needs more then that.
    Infiniti is for people who want okay performance but do not want to spend more on the high performance cars like BMW M Lexus F Audi RS Benz AMG

    Does this look better than the 4 series? Absolutely not imo. It certainly doesnt stack up to the 440/435 in performance either. I see zero reason to ever consider this car.

      @carbuzzcom  7 лет назад +3

      I think exterior design is very subjective, first off. But there's also the Q60 Red Sport 400 (which I mentioned in the review) that I think is a great BMW 4 Series competitor.

      CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars True, hence why i said "imo" meaning "in my opinion". I dont think this looks any where near as good as the 4 series but that is just me, im sure many will disagree.
      The red sport is cool too, but compared to the m4, it once again fails to compare. The m4 is a night and day better car period.

      This car does not compete with the M4...
      Q60 2.0T competes directly w/ BMW 420i
      Q60 3.0T competes directly w/ BMW 430i
      Q60 3.0T RS 400 competes directly w/440i
      Infiniti is in the planning stages on their sport-performance model that will compete with the M4. Their initial decision is trying to decide if Renault Sport Racing or NISMO, or a combination of the two that will produce that model.

      The Q60 has not been instrument tested yet, but if we go by the Q50 Red Sport's tests, then the Q50 RS 400 has already surpassed most of the 340i's performance metrics, while falling short on a couple.

      Not likely...a heavily modded g37/370z may, but not one that is stock, nor mildly modded.
      There are already youtube videos of 3.0t Premium giving nothing but the business to a modded 370z.

      Rod H. 3.0t is 300hp your statin blank facts a 370z already pushes 332hp further modding depending on the mods could push it further than even a gt-r

      G and Z are rated for 330, 332 at the crank respectfully. However, the actual HP at the wheels is around 260hp. That is not me "stating" blank facts, but actual facts. This new 3.0t is actually putting down 300hp+ at the wheels, which means it is seriously underrated by Infiniti. Again, that is not me "stating" blank facts, but actual facts.

    Sorry, but the exterior design tries so hard to look "muscular". It just ends up looking more "muffin top".
