    Best table I've owned. Upgraded to the Nagaoka MP-150 cart with a MP-200 stylus. Amazing sound through my Marantz integrated amp. Sort of a wonky cuing lever but other than that perfect. BTW, the dust cover is absolutely gorgeous

    Lovely turn table well worth the cost. This will be more valuable later on and is bullet proof for years to come. enjoy !

    Bought a Technics 1210 GR a couple of years ago. I couldn't be happier w/ it. Love to cartridge swap w/ a half dozen cartridges both MM & MC. Takes 60 seconds balance ! The only negative for me is the DJ looks which I'm not crazy about.I wish Technics would redesign the G & GR series turntables look to a more Audiophile looking design.

    Well done. I have one the same, mainly to play with various cartridges from MM, MI to MC. This has proved to be good fun

    Congrats to your great new turntable!! I own the 1500c for more than one year now and even I did not plan to use the cartridge it came with nor the integrated phono pre, I decided to go for the 1500c because of the silver finish. This alone was worth 100€ more to me. What I enjoy most is the wow & flutter performance of this nice tt.

    That 100C is a nice turntable. The internal phono stage is what I didn’t like on the 1500C too. I’ve had an SL1200 from 2000 with a lot of KAB upgrades and mods. I bought a new SL1210GR, but returned it cuz my old Technics sounded better with the upgrades. KAB has a nice additional weight counter weight too. Congrats on the new turntable! I think you’ll love it. 🔊😊🎶

      Can you please give us your thoughts and impressions on the 100C after living with it for a while? Congrats again. It’s always fun to get a new toy, especially one as nice as that. I personally think the 100C looks better than a standard SL1200. More streamlined..
      Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of people complain that MM AT carts are too bright, but as you mentioned, it’s because there’s too much capacitance being used. I think that wooden Yamamoto headshell will work out perfectly. They also make a real carbon fiber one, if I’m not mistaken. If you’re not already familiar with them, KAB makes pretty much everything for Technics decks including some really low capacitance cables for reasonable prices. The Blue Jeans LC-1 cables are really nice too. I use em from my phono pre to preamp and from that to my amp(s).

    They make a screw in weight that screws into the center of the back of the tonearm for heavier headshell cartridge combinations.

    Congrats with the new turntable. Nice headshell, I think I need one of those wooden one's, perhaps the Ortofon one, since I have Orto pickup and tonearm.

    TT’s, MC cartridges, SUT’s and finding mint or near mint records (old pressings) that aren’t warped or plagued with noise. Another rabbit hole. But absolutely worth going the extra mile. Nothing equal the aural experience of vintage vinyl. Then cleaning. Ultrasonic vs vacuum? Thanks for the videos Steph.

    Super nice turntable, congratulations! I use the ART 9 on a 6Perspex turntable and was using a phono box rs from pro-ject, but since my speakers and mono blocks are Quad, I went ahead and sold that preamp and bought the Quad Qc24 P, and I now have a terrible hum, and I cannot figure out where it comes from, so haven’t even had the pleasure of listening to it for real yet. Anyhow, will try and troubleshoot once I find some time.

    NICE !!! Been eyeing on Technics TT and am struggling with $1100 to $4300 price difference in their product line sans the $20K unit... All I care is it sounds fabulous and is trouble free...

    The turntable looks very nice. I really like direct drive turntables. Looking forward to your listening experience.
    Did they provide you with a stylus alignment gauge? Those quick change head shells are not all the same length. Of course you have calipers, so you could just measure from the face of the head shell to the stylus of the provided head shell.

      I've been measuring them, no it didn't come with a alignment tool but I ordered one to make it simple.

    Standard output MC cartridges are not so effected by capacitance loading values as they have much lower inductance than the MM ones.

    Nice video. What will you be using as a step up transformer for you MC cartridge? Would it be possible to do initial test with the cartridge that came with the turntable to see how much of on improvement the MC is? Congrats on you purchase.

    Hi do you know if you can change the tonearm on this turntable just like you do on sl 1200??

  • @m13579k
    @m13579k Год назад

    Fun fact, TT technology hasn't really improved or changed since the late 1970s. It is all basically still the same stuff inside. Cartridges yes, the TT themselves, not really.

    • @SkunkieDesignsElectronics
      @SkunkieDesignsElectronics  Год назад

      This one is an improvement, I'm assuming it is the better tonearm + adjustable VTA.

    • @m13579k
      @m13579k Год назад

      @@SkunkieDesignsElectronics agreed, but that is more of a model difference between Technics. The 100C is much better than the SL-B2 in general. What I meant is like a high-end Thorens from 1977 is just as good as a high-end TT from 2023. The technology hasn't changed much.

    • @SkunkieDesignsElectronics
      @SkunkieDesignsElectronics  Год назад

      It's why I was hesitant to replace the SL-B2. I can see nowthere is something to be gained from a higher quality table and given the prices of the good older tables, this 100C looked like a good option.
