Honestly, Ricky is one of the realist guys ever. So simple and easy but "The Office" was amazing.

Ricky Gervais is an inspiration to me. The guy started life in a working class background and has fought to get to where he is today. Legend. He's still humble too which you don't often see when people get a taste of the limelight.
Rickys mind is to attack sensitivity matters in life with humour..... the best antidepressant. Funniest man alive true humour. Great podcast

After life made me cry because I cared about Ricky's character and felt so much empathy to the situation but laughed out loud so much at the dark humour which I would use to reflect my pain. We laugh to hide our tears

@@djl7848 I'm no doubt wrong, but perhaps he didn't wish to discuss it and wants to look forward. He'll have been asked about it a million times and imagine TG and Lawrence wanted to keep him happy. What I loved most was how warm Ricky was towards them both, especially Lawrence, they're so alike it's unreal. Brilliant podcast.
Andy Mac yeah it’s a good podcast I agree. You talk about him wanting to look forward though but he speaks about the office which was 15 years+ ago, (must have been asked about that a million times) and all his stand up. Definitely fell out with Karl and Steve

I think I'm a fan of Ricky because he's very genuine in who he is.
He's genuinely a cunt to people, he's genuine in his heartfelt writing, politically, and in his beliefs.
I genuinely am glad to be alive while he's around to enjoy his work.
I've had my own issues with my metal health and his work has, I believe, honestly helped me to stay on this earth.
What a legend Ricky Gervais is.

Ricky is the ideal human.
He cares about animals. He is utterly hilarious, and he's the most down to Earth famous person I've ever seen.
Right? Always been one of my favorite comedians ever, really surprised at the amount of people that hate him, don't know why either.
He has such a great philosophy on life and wise words to share. I've been a fan of his work for years (particualrly Derek and Extras) -his ability to write something so funny and then something so poignant/ heart warming within the following moment mesmerises me. I could actually listen to him talk forever
Having lost my husband to cancer I find Afterlife a bit tough going at times but I do love Ricky and his values ❤️
T.G is a class act made it from nothing to interviewing his hero nothing but respect for him and Laurence.KEEP UP THE WORK!

Love this podcast and Ricky himself but its frustrating how in all of Ricky’s interviews no one ever mentions Karl or Steve. Those two are the ones that Ricky did his best work with; the office, Xfm, podcasts, idiot abroad etc. Just feels like a missed opportunity.
honestly infuriates me how ricky never seems to mention them, steve especially. he makes out like it's all his own work when in reality they did it all together, meanwhile watching any interviews with steve, he repeatedly mentions ricky
From what I’ve heard they don’t really keep in contact anymore and it’s bringing things that have been buried, if they want to talk about the other I’m sure they could bring them on as well for another podcast

Im a Geordie (haven't lived in England for donkeys years) and had never before heard of the True Geordie. Binge watching Ricky interviews brought me here. Well done lads it's a smashing interview! I honestly thin it's one of the best. Ricky doesn't seem to want to pla it for laughs all the time and you give him the room to talk and show him great respect without arselicking. I will be diving into more of your podcasts. Thank you so much. PS After Life is the greatest thing I have ever watched on TV

I’ve watched the three seasons of Afterlife four times and I laugh and cry in nearly every episode. It’s become one of my favourite shows of all time
Cannot put into words how much this has made my life better seeing my idol sat with two of my favourite youtubers that I’ve followed since almost day one finally getting the recognition they deserve. They say don’t meet your idols but this changes everything owe you three the world and more.

Ricky is a legend of TV, not just comedy but TV, he truly tells a story with everything he's done whether it's been with laughs or heartfelt drama roles, he tells a story. Fantastic ARTIST, he makes art with every role. Geordie I believe you make ART out of RUclips as does Lawrence. Brilliant podcast this. Third to Ian Wright and Alan Shearer for me. Loved it.

I started to appreciate Ricky late on but HOW i appreciate him now. He seems like fame and fortune hasn't changed him, apart from being fkn minted! His thoughts and comedy are genuis and born of living a real life before the fame and fortune. I suspect Jane is his soul mate as well as his biggest supporter. Boy how sheets will have suffered over the years. I have watched afterlife and it is just as brilliant as Derrick. Ricky is also obviously loyal as many of his on screen actors are rewarded with being cast in new roles. I really like this as many of these actors are brilliant and don't get their chance Hollywood's air brushed system.

It's wonderful to see and experience men sharing their life experiences, admitting where the mistakes were, the laughter and tears and true hugs at the end...King David whose heart was instantly knit together with Jonathan's and visa versa..he said their live surpassed that of women. They shared in the battles of life together. A true bond. A covenant relationship.
