All I can say is the kindness Robbie has shown me has been mind blowing. Supporting me behind the scenes and inviting me in to his home to meet his family and offer his help and advice. The nicest bloke you could ever meet.
Your hard work is finally paying off, Congratulations on the success man. Pleased to see you rising to the top. Not long till you and Laurence have the number 1 podcast in the world. Keep it up Brian, These podcasts have come a long way in the past year!
Want to know why this is my favourite episode yet? The last thing I ever did with dad was watch Robbie at Knebsworth. I must have only been 4 years old and we got a mattress, put it in the lounge and stayed up all night and day watching him. A few days later my dad left me and my mum and it’s one of the only memories I have with him. Since then Robbie has, and always will be my favourite artist. Thank you so much for this mate, means the fucking world to me ❤️
It's mental that I used to watch you on KickTv ranting about Newcastle, now you are doing 3 hour interviews with Robbie Williams and Alan Shearer. You are a fucking inspiration man.
I struggled to understand why people would take 3 hours out of their day to watch a RUclips video, until I watched this series, but especially this episode. So laid back and just really interesting. You guys deserve the success that is coming to you
Yes you are right. People do watch films and tv because it is entertainment. Most of those things however have massive publicity campaigns from their broadcasters and film companies. These guys, like most youtubers, don't have anywhere near that, So I never fully understood it because it isn't as popularised. Regardless... I'm looking forward to seeing what happened when someone gets behind them, because it will blow up.
We watch these interviews as you can really get into the meat of what someone is about. 5 minutes on Jonathan Ross really doesnt tell you what someone is made of. A lot of us thought Robbie Williams was an arse, but now you hear the story from his perspective and you realise that they were getting shafted and he wasnt having any of it... so just doing what any of us would have done!
Long form conversation is extremely entertaining, as it gets so much further than the normal TV show interview format. Obviously The Joe Rogan Experience is another excellent example of this type of great podcast. Depending on the person Joe Rogan has on , of course.
Newbie here, just wanted to say how impressed I am with the effort you've put into the research Mr Geordie . Thank you so much. I've been a Rob fan since 1992 so feel like I know a lot about the man . This is great to see a much more in depth interview not just the superficial stuff and YOU must be a decent bloke cause Robs properly opening up to you. I feel like I got to see the real person rather than the 'Robbie' character. Thank you.
I watch all of your podcasts and love all of them but I have to say this one has got to be my favourite. I've always liked Robbies music but after this im a really big fan of him on general, such a down to earth lad.
Geordie "What's it like having people?" Geordie "Cause I'm looking forward to having, I want people!" Geordie "Can I have people?" Laurence "you've got some people." Geordie "I've got some people but I want more people" Laurence "sometimes you treat your equals as if they're your people" The greatest conversation ever to be had and I am fucking dead
Robbie has always been, and will always be, a really top bloke, regardless of whether you like his sense of humour or not. On one hand he's a class act and a global superstar. On the other he's a canny fella from Stoke on Trent that you could have a beer and a laugh with down the local boozer. He's a likeable, ordinary legend and that's his legacy.
TheSharkLord I think he's trying to get across that more celebrities are like this than it seems. How they're portrayed and who they are can be quite a different thing
I just found this, 3 years later! Robbie unknowingly saved my life on various occasions in my youth, I will always. I am so grateful for this podcast. Wonderful. Thank you 🙏💜🙏
Smashing it out the park. There are no limits to what you two can achieve together. Robbie was a brilliant guest, would love to see him on again. Was really good to see him asking you questions as well. An icon and such a nice, caring person. Maybe he could host an episode and ask you two about yourselves more!
I would love to see all three of them on every single podcast Robbie just fits in and is so laid back, I think Robbie would even enjoy that, it would also make this podcast even bigger aswell 😉.
Wow, always used to turn my nose at Rob but after actually watching this I realise I have a lot in common with him, the way he acts with people, in public how he deals with pressure, life ETC! I’d have to say this is such a good watch and one of the best things to grace this planet! Thankyou True Gordie And Thankyou Rob
Robbie you are an inspiration sir...as someone who has suffered with similar mental health problems as you , you and your wonderful music inspire me every day. *respectful bow*
angels was my grandma's funeral song and Robbie was one of her all-time favourite artists. I would love to meet Robbie shake his hand and say thank you for raising my grandma's spirits and for letting me let my emotions out after she died.
Fucking hell Brian you've smashed it. Very proud of where you've come, from the iPhone and ironing board to this... and props to Robbie too he was fantastic, I hope to see him on again.
That was probably my favourite podcast ever and it’ll take some beating! Ever since I can remember my mum was playing Robbie, whether it was in the car or dancing around the kitchen or just anywhere she could put a CD in. And looking back on it he really was the soundtrack to my childhood. 20 years on and I still idolise him like I had before but now with more of an understanding of what an incredible songwriter, performer and all round fucking legend he is. A genuine British icon and someone right at the top of the list of people I’d like to meet one day
I love reading these comments of people that probably disliked Rob before watching this. They now see what us, his fans have always known. Funny, charismatic, talented, caring and just an all round great guy. So great to see such a long interview. It flew buy could sit and watch another 3 hours.
I take issue with your comment "They now see what us, his fans have always known". You didn't know him personally at all, you had access to the same media stuff as everyone else and were simply a fan out of blind ignorance and faith. That doesn't make you a fucking oracle, who knew that he was a human being underneath!? There's always a moron like you in the comments of videos like these.
Great podcast! First time seeing True Geordie and totally loved it. Robbie gives all interviewers a run for their money when he starts asking questions of the hosts. Brilliant! That was the best 2 hours and 47 minutes of my week!
I'm a young musician playing in a metal band and recording various different styles of music. My dad passed away earlier this year and he was always really proud of me in what I do with music and everything in life. I'm 20 so I've got a lot to do in life and hopefully get somewhere with music. When robbie got his dad down it made me really chuffed how proud you can tell his dad is. Really made me think about my dad, especially as today is fathers day, the first one I've spent without my dad. This was a great podcast. I've never been a big listener of robbie but I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you true geordy and the rest of the team! Big love x
I really hope you read this Robbie or Robert. I saw you in wellington New Zealand when i was 7-8 years old (almost 20years ago) it was one of the best experiences of my life. You are an awesome man and i truly hope you know we all love you.
This was THE BEST one yet! Said this too many times but THIS one will take some beating. So happy for TG and as for Robbie, what a bloody good guest he was. Thank you for being a guest Robbie.
How incredible must it feel when Robbie Williams is sitting there telling you he listens to your podcast. Loved that he asked questions to you guys as well. Such a nice bloke, a very genuine and honest interview with good questions with plenty of research from Brian and Laurence.
I met Robbie Williams when I was young in Cornwall. I remember he was super down to earth and genuinely excited at interacting. I would’ve been about 9 and he was asking if I was chasing girls (it was on a radio 1 beach concert in Falmouth) and if I was, he could help. He spent about 10mins chatting to me - always had an affinity for him since then
Watching any other interview with Robbie Williams you would think he was just like any other celeb but this podcast just shows there is so many more levels to him and he is just like any other bloke. Love the podcast keep up the great work
Makes you wonder why this style if interview isn't done more, is it because most celebs couldn't do an interview like this? Or is it because the interviewers aren't able to make their guests relax and let their walls down?
The best RW interview I have ever seen/listened 2 (and I've watched them all) Was totally absorbed for 3hrs? Your interview/chat techniques are spot on 🖒👏
once again your poadcast is the only thing getting me through my university work! also let Laurence know i have the same top and that I do wear it better cheers ;) x
I think my favourite moment out of all the Podcasts has to be from Robbie at 1:52:50, where he just looks at Laurence with such disappointment and claims " You always jump in and spoil things" hahaha
Every episode bar a few I’ve been fucking blown away by the work rate. It doesn’t go unnoticed clearly, Eubank, Shearer and Robbie Williams. I now feel like no guest is out of reach. You and Loz have fully changed the game. Feel proud to be one of the few who saw the vision and was with you from the iPad on an ironing board days. Mad how far you’ve come lad. Keep grinding! 💪🏻
I’m one of Robbie’s biggest fans as a 27 year old man. I’ve loved him from a young age. Even I looked at this video thinking wow that’s a long video , I’ve just sat glued to every second and every word . This podcast gives a real look at Robbie and it’s just all natural it’s incredible and now the True Geordie podcast has a fan in me for all new projects !! Smashed it lads absolutely loved it well done ! Wish you all the success in the world !!
Robbie Williams is Some one Ive listened to since I was a kid, life through a lense so on so forth..... I've had some struggles but am a proud husband and father doing my best, he's a good bloke who like alot of us has had troubles in his life but was always a good guy
Watched this in 3 sittings, and as a huge RW fan, but having never heard of True Geordie til now (I apologise for that oversight) this is one of the best Robbie interviews I've seen. He's just being himself and really honest, and the mutual respect and rapport is what brings that out. Well done on a fab podcast (and that is hard for a Mackem to say to a geordie...! )
I like RUclips for the instant gratification factor, flicking through 2 minutes here, 2 minutes there...This has kept me riveted all night ! well done Mr Williams and well done lads !
Watched the whole thing from start to finish in one sitting right now. Hands down absolutely love these podcasts. You managed to get Robbie Williams on... That's insane. It was brilliant, honestly. Well done!
Just finished watching this watched it the whole way through like, once I started it I couldnt turn it off! Pure quality content! Robbie seems like a quality guy! Which i didnt think he would be, but even the fact that he was even up for doing a podcast like this shows what kind of guy he is!! And true Geordie Legend!
I met Robbie two years ago and he's honestly such a genuinely nice guy! Very polite, down to earth and friendly! He hugged me and it felt like we'd been friends for years and he took the time to meet some fans (including me) even though he obviously wasn't feeling well at all that day. He really is a great person💙
Bloody hell Robbie Williams Now this is going to be good! How the hell did you pull this off True Geordie. Can’t wait to watch this, you’ve certainly done awesome here Mate well done.
Thank you Robbie for your honesty regarding your mental health struggles. I have very similar 'isms'. So inspiring to hear you talk about what you have been through. You are a very sweet, down-to-earth man and I hope that everyday the inner heaviness gets a little bit lighter. You could look into a recent field of mental health called Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and see if it helps at all. You are amazing! 💜
It’s amazing to think that someone so successful and popular has the same problems if not worse problems than all the people who idolise them, absolutely brilliant podcast my favourite yet
All I can say is the kindness Robbie has shown me has been mind blowing. Supporting me behind the scenes and inviting me in to his home to meet his family and offer his help and advice. The nicest bloke you could ever meet.
True Geordie this is huge, congrats!!
Deserved Geordie well in mate x

Your podcast is in my top 2 podcasts along with Jre. IMO thats good company to keep.
Cold one in hand. TG on the telly with ROBBIE FUCKING WILLIAMS!!! Insanity.
Knowing you watch this as well is insanity .Love it!
It would be good but they can't truly be them selves

I absolutely adore Robbie. After 20 years and I don't know why exactly but it's just never really...waned.
Bloody hell Robbie Williams Now this is going to be good! How the hell did you pull this off True Geordie. Can’t wait to watch this, you’ve certainly done awesome here Mate well done.

good old robbo
Thank you Robbie for your honesty regarding your mental health struggles. I have very similar 'isms'. So inspiring to hear you talk about what you have been through. You are a very sweet, down-to-earth man and I hope that everyday the inner heaviness gets a little bit lighter. You could look into a recent field of mental health called Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and see if it helps at all. You are amazing! 💜
It’s amazing to think that someone so successful and popular has the same problems if not worse problems than all the people who idolise them, absolutely brilliant podcast my favourite yet
