"A Song of Ice and Fire (commonly abbreviated as ASoIaF) is an ongoing series of epic fantasy novels by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin. Martin began writing the series in 1991 and the first volume was published in 1996.
The story of A Song of Ice and Fire takes place in a fictional world, primarily on a continent called Westeros but also on a large landmass to the east, known as Essos. Most of the characters are human but as the series progresses others are introduced, such as the cold and menacing supernatural Others from the far North and fire-breathing dragons from the East, both thought to be extinct by the humans of the story. There are three principal story lines in the series: the chronicling of a dynastic civil war for control of Westeros among several competing families; the rising threat of the Others, who dwell beyond an immense wall of ice that forms Westeros' northern border; and the ambition of Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled daughter of a king who was murdered in another civil war fifteen years before, to return to Westeros and claim her rightful throne. As the series progresses, the three story lines become increasingly interwoven and dependent upon each other."

I laughed when Fantasy Haven deliberately mispronounced House Hoare to avoid being demonetized only for Quinn to pronounce Aenys as Anus 😂😂😂

At this point, i think Quinn and Havens meet up on Saturday, lock themselves in a room all day and exchange videos ideas.
I knew the Late Lord Haven was wearing a wire.
Pronouncing it "Hor-ra" kinda makes it sound like "horror", which I like better than "whore". The family died horribly and every other owner of the castle has ended in horror.
+ they were kings of the Iron Islands for millennia and participated in their fair share of horrific activities

@@toxicwaste159 in my head canon, The Children of the forrest, or the last 3-Eyed Raved, caused Aegon I to end their line. The day the castle was finished he landed in KL......too coincidental to me. Maybe they saw how terrible he was, or maybe they thought he would cut down all the wood on the Isle of Faces eventually, but homie and his line had to go.
That pronunciation makes me think of a specific character from the Sopranos. Real ones know. 🤣
Getting harenhall is like getting underwear for your birthday you don't really want it but you also can't say no

One of the greatest weaknesses of the Harrenhal lordship in my opinion is the location of the whole thing.
Being so close to kings landing, the at the gods eye and a central location in the 7 kingdoms.
This means that whenever a big smackdown happens, then Harrenhal is too big of a location to be ignored, as it makes for a great foothold in the Riverlands and crownlands.
This means all armies of the fighting factions will rush to Harrenhal to capture it and cause the lords of Harrenhal to pick a side quick. Most houses don’t have the wealth to maintain or rebuild Harrenhal, but the very location means that everyone will be knocking on their doors if any conflict breaks out
True, but that central location is very useful during peacetime as a conduit of trade.
I don't understand why the Lords of Harrenhall aren't rolling in gold.
A good idea might be to turn Harrenhall into a massive market with several smaller villages inside the protection of the walls and only leave Kingspyre tower as the habitation for the lord.
Harrenhall could become a major trade hub.
@@gerardjagroo It could if Gourge was better at world building but this is the guy who just has the capitals of the other great houses be random castles in the middle of nowhere .
@@gerardjagroo I’d probably say that one of the reasons for that is that the houses that took hold of Harrenhal were either small, or knightly houses (Qoherys/Towers) or if they were business minded they didn’t have the lands king enough before they were wiped out.

Magic of the old gods, not supposed to build a castle in sight of the Isle of Faces
As much as magic is a thing in ASOIAF I like to think Harrenhal isn't actually cursed but is always given to families who always try and reach above their station or make stupid decisions (Getting in Bed with Maegor can count as both). So it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy where people say whoever holds the castle their house will die, however, the only people who get the castle are those who have some level of ambition and after getting Harrenhal that same ambition that got them the castle causes them to die.

If I were to make a bet I'd wager Maegor before he became king was a prelude to Daemon. He didn't love his first wife, he was loyal to his brother, his first wife was a hightower so maybe he opposed their influence and his brother opposed him disregarding his marriage. He was also a fantastic swordsman whom wielded dark sister.
