    All reviewers make too big of deal of the 3 vs 4 nameplates. Who cares. There is not 1 single person who would say "I wanted a 3 coupe, and since it has a 4, I won't buy it"

      Yes I agree. Reviewers and purists seem to be really hung up on the series number. I don't get it.

    The 4 coupe is by far my favourite BMW on the market right now. I personally own a 320d coupe and I must say that the 4 is just so similar, yet so diferent ... maybe better in a lot of ways.

  • @AdamKellar
    @AdamKellar 11 лет назад +2

    I agree - I'll never understand why they didn't keep the 3 a coupe and make the 4 a sedan.
    3 series coupe has been the benchmark for coupes since the 70s.

    I recently bought a luxury edition 420d xdrive. it's so fuel efficient and good to drive. I love it. I haven't really liked the look of BMW in my price range however when I spotted the 4 series I couldn't help but admire the look of this car, you don't need an M series to feel good.

    at the end of the day it is still a 3 series, looks better than the old one, but mechanically and even stylistically at the end of the day, a couple of inches makes a car look better, not justify it as a new car

    lets be honest the reason why BMW made 4 series its because of Audi A5 really. Since it came out it stole a lot of sales from 3 series so BMW decided to buid a car which is similar, so its an answer to A5 .But personally i dont know which one i'll choose between the two coz they are both stunning

    Hiya the explanation on the 4 Series is excellent, and I've bought my self a 4 Series 420i M Sport Coupe on a 2014 plate with 184 BHP for my 30th Birthday and I must say that I love it!! although BMW in Warwick are due to deliver the car to me at the end of the month here to Harrow in London and I will drive it on the motorway sooner rather than later. The 420i M Sport will indeed replace my 2007 BMW 320D M Sport 163 BHP. :-D

  • @SuperRacingBros
    @SuperRacingBros 11 лет назад

    I completely agree with this video. There is too much noise and fuss being kicked up about the name change. In the larger scheme of things, it really doesn't matter. BMW haven't taken away the stylish and sporty coupe. They are still making it, just with a different moniker. When Apple did the same thing with their new iOS 7 design, it was called "keeping up with the times".
    And boy does this 4'er looks good and I'm sure it will handle well too. Cant wait for the M4, the concept looks awesome!

    It's rather good looking, spacious, comfortable, economical, and as you said, a good sportscar home for when you've had a bad day at work. It's a really good car. Why do I want to hate it?! We could say that BMW and not the 4 series per se is the one to blame (in a "don't hate the player, hate the game" sort of way) but I still can't help but looking at it feeling that the world now won't have new M3's because of it. I don't think there's been another car that cause such turmoil in my life.

  • @Dgannt
    @Dgannt 11 лет назад

    Yes, with xdrive. And Audi NEEDS the AWD just to stay on the road, specially in the corners. After all, it has like all Audis (not R8) it's engine IN FRONT of the front axle and will like all Audis understeer 100%. But AWD, torque vectoring and a lot of electronics will dial down the understeer to 70%.

  • @Fr0zone662
    @Fr0zone662 11 лет назад

    Probably just an indication for the m sport line, similar to the s-line badges on audi's. Just a 435i? It's one step below the m4...

  • @Bergaufschieba
    @Bergaufschieba 10 лет назад

    Well but you do know why they put the engines there in the first place? Bad for dynamics but good for packaging and interior space. Anyways, putting the engine on top of the front axle is not the best solution either, if anything you should put it between the axles and nobody can do that with a r6 front engine, those are quite long. You just can't have perfect dynamics in a 4 seater...

    Personally I love all german cars but lets see the most expensive car within the BMW auto group is a $400K Rolls Royce. But Audi being part of the Volkswagen group their engineering (mainly engine and AWD system) is in the $3.9 million Lamborghini Veneno and $2.4 million Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. so let that sink in.

  • @Dgannt
    @Dgannt 10 лет назад

    But compared to Audi BMW has most of it's engine behind the front axle. It's so obvious when you test drive a BMW and an Audi. While the BMW turns like it's a natural movement (the average description is that it turns around your hip) the Audi is fighting and forcing it. Audi just feels heavier as a consequence of that engine placement. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car but more for Autobahn cruising at very high speed, not sporty driving.

    The Veneno and Veyron are hypercars, they show what's possible with todays technology in the automotive industry, yet it doesn't proof if a car company is further ahead than the other. Believe me,if BMW wanted to build a hypercar, they could do so no problem. If you are about engineering, just take a look at BMWs engines. 61 engine of the year awards compared to Volkswagen AG's ( Porsche and Audi included) 33. BMW doesn't need a hypercar too proof their know-how.

    All those awards (for whatever worth they have) and still no supercar. The i8 is a shame for any serious enthusiast. Don't get me wrong: in my family everyone has been driving BMW for ages, i wanted one myself for quite some time.
    Still other car manufacturers can build good cars as well and even better ones too. You are right that they don't need to prove how to make a supercar but on the other hand those customers will then buy AMGs, R8s, Lambo, Porsche etc
    I thought they wanted everything ?

M4 will be built on top of this car.

      trevor philips it's cheaper now and cost 40k for m sport 435i, so with almost all options will cost 50k
      I checked on bmw website and for 50k you can have almost all options with m sport package and around 53-54k all options and high class car with 6 series feeling, but for me stock m sport + adaptive suspension and driving assistant for 45k will be ok, because you have so many thingsin stadard you don;t really need. Wait 2 years and you will buy it for 25k will all options and 20k miles on the clock, which is still a bargain and 50% price save in the pocket

    I can compare it since i have driven both, the F30 335i and the S5. And the S5 wins hands down. The BMW has more understeer by now, but since you haven't driven either - you can't tell :)
