I bought a 2015 420d M Sport Gran Coupe Auto last year. Only £30 road tax, drives superb, great fun in sport and manual mode and decent mpg! Would deffo recommend
I had a F30 320d for 3 years great car. RWD manual, it could easily do 650 miles to tank without even trying & it was £30 to tax a year at the time. You really can’t go wrong
My 435d xdrive is incredible for a diesel, ruthlessly fast, constant power, point and shoot performance with easy cornering with 4WD, the ability to make a lot of hot hatches or modded cars look slow AND amazing fuel economy. It’s the ultimate sleeper car.
I used to have an M135i which I absolutely adored, but with the mileage I was doing it wasn't ideal. I have an F30 320d auto now and I'm honestly not regretting the change, you still get the joy of rwd and in all honesty it handles much better! I miss the power but not as much as I would imagine!
I've got one of these right now, red interior, and he is right they are fun, there's a bit of go in them, especially, great acceleration with spirt mode on, it's also a work horse, I've had an m3 and I loved it, but these are great little cars, and you can modify them to hell and back, but if you really want a car that looks like this but can if tuned up and money spent be an M3 killer it's the 435d, il be due a new car next year .....just maybe
Sold my e39 530d after 4 years due to high tax & insurance being a 15years old car 😡 bought an f30 320d m sport manual a year ago and has been surprisingly very good ! Fun on the country lanes & great on motorways . All the power you need for daily driving
Problem with these types of modern diesels for me is they just scream lower-middle class monthly payment making average Joe who likes to be seen in an okay car, they're everywhere, they have no identity because of how easily attainable they are, I mean if you drove for an hour you'd pass hundreds without turning a head
what’s wrong with people buying a car they want? Your average Joe ain’t going to afford an M4 brand new, so if they want to spend their money on a nice car and pay monthly what’s the problem? Working 40 hours a week surely got to enjoy your money somehow
@@TheOnlyAzrr There's no problem if people want to be in debt over a car (not for me) but my point is everyone can go and put 2k down and pay 400 a month rent, they're everywhere these cars because they're that easy to get so they have no meaning anymore
@@arnisonxxvi Yeah I know what you mean but average Joe can’t buy a 20k outright. It’s no different than saving for a car, you’re putting money aside each month towards a car, just with a loan you get the car then “save” every month towards it, rather than saving for a couple years then getting the car. I see no problem with it. What car isn’t common these days anyway? Unless you go into the expensive price bracket 70k+. Only live once mate people can spend their money on what they want as long as they can afford it. If you can afford the monthly’s whilst having money after to enjoy then there’s no issue in my opinion
@@TheOnlyAzrr Each to their own mate id rather save like 5k and buy a nice 6 series outright on a 06 plate tbh still look amazing reliable as hell and it's yours, plus you'd get your 5k back whenever you want
Don't you mean M sport models? To be honest they suit people who like sporty looks with good running costs. Same as the ST line trim you get on fords. My fiesta for example is the zetec s trim which basically has the same body kit as the ST though has a smaller engine, wheels and some bits aren't painted
I was looking at these for around 15k but local Honda dealer was selling off some new pre reg Civics for same price so opted for one. Watching review not sure made right decision.
I have a BMW 120d coupe msport and I completely agree with what you’re saying, just under 7k I paid and put a few tasteful mods onto it and it feels like it’s worth double that price 👌🏽 may not have all the quirks of a modern bmw but has that raw drivers car feeling
People who know BMW's always buy M Sport/M Performance models,BMW ES,SE or Sport(an SE with leather seats)models are for the people that want to wave a BMW key ring about.
I run a 69 plate 420i M sport grand coupe as a company car, lifeless sack of crap with a gutless engine, looks half decent, rides ok a bit choppy/boaty, but you can get a lot more car for your money....Good daily but never been anything more than an A to B....Not that good on fuel either and the gearbox is good in sport mode but looses the plot in comfort/sport plus.
If it’s a bmw made in the last 20 years and doesn’t have 6 or more cylinders then it’s pointless. People buy the 20d’s to brag about having a bmw but won’t go into any more detail because they’re embarrassed. Performance isn’t everything but there are better cars for the money that a 4 cylinder BMW. They all everywhere on the roads and the only people that buy them are dull but want to appear interesting. I agree the economy is good but it’s even better in a diesel golf. Not only that but by the time you’ve got some decent options added on you aren’t fair away from the price of a 30d which comes with more equipment as standard.
Why you ask? Here’s why, because they are just a German Ford with a slightly better badge that joe soap can actually afford the monthly payment on And he loves telling people “Yeah I’ve got an M sport beemer” then watches the persons face lose all interest, or any they may have remotely had, as he reveals it’s an diesel M sport and Not an actual M3 or whatever that he owns 🤣🤡 Peasants they used to be called
Great video once again, it’s a nice car, good spec but WRONG engine, the 2.0d is Gutless and sounds like a bag of spanners.. the 330d or 335d pack tonnesy more torque, punch and are much much smoother.
I disagree I think the 2.0d isn’t too bad in terms of power as long as you keep it in the right rpm band and they can get some seriously good mpg and not everyone needs massive hammer blow torque. This is adequate for an everyday cooking diesel. Yeah it’s no 335d but it’s certainly not gutless.
@@Buck3366 Hit the nail on the head, the B47 isn't Gutless, it has as much power as you would ever realistically need. Yes it isn't a 335d, but it's not trying to be. Even in a 318d it packs a punch.

Im planning to get it for a first car how is the reliability?

I have a 4 series gran coupe. Love it and mint with the rear seats down for space etc
Because they are better than audi and even if you put lots of miles one then they hold their money better than anything else
Nahh, any Auto BMW is just like butter smooth making smiles every time you drive it

On my 3rd Diesel M Sport car, miles better looking than the standard cars plus the the other things you spoke about. Good format, enjoyed watching
Good review!! Very helpful
All msport bmws are sick no matter of the age

Debating on getting a 4 series but can’t pick between 2litre or 3litre 😩
Mint mate, mint motor !
Scenic and interesting, thanks J.

M Performance in this case is just a name of some trim bits. It's an M-Sport with M-performance splitter or diffuser.

Do love the E39. Would love to get a black one with the sport trim and twin five spoke wheels 👌
I have a 428i gran coupe stage 2 305hp 450nm absolutely love it always turning heads and great to drive and also very pratical car!
F20 engine or b48? F20 is reliable enough except for the shitty bmw timing chain?
430d is such a good balance
