Let me show you a really simple technique for creating a beautiful piece of abstract art. I'm using lots of bright colours - anyone can have a go and have fun. And you really can paint this today with just a few simple tools and basic paint and canvas from any online retailer or your local art store.
In the first half of the video I take you through some basic preparation - what tools you will need and especially using things you may already have in the house - like sponges, cardboard and paint brushes. You can skip to around the 09:00 mark if you just want to see how the painting is created.
I also talk about canvas, painting the background and how to finish off the edges.
Look out for the second video here ( • Paint abstract the EAS... ) where we will get straight into creating using another simple and amazing technique to make a beautiful, colourful painting - completely different to this one!

I love simplicity! It turned out quite nice! It's better to act than over think sometimes! There are so many ways to make art, it is endless! Now I'm retired and I can do as much or little as I like! What do you use for a top coat
I've been an artist for a long time now - different styles and methods - no purely acrylic pour technique... and can I say I LOVE your videos. I kick back with my cask of wine and watch you. For new start artists you are a pure gift and for folks like me even I love watching how you create your art - especially the HUGE ones. I've done a few 'big ones' for our house - but NO where near the size you do!! I just had to say thank you for your wonderful videos! From Australia!

Why am i soo strongly drawn to these colours. Not just this painting!! All of the others hanging in you studio attract me. I love the look of mixed colour, whether they work on the colour wheel or not. It just fascinates me so much how drawn i am to them.

Quite inspiring. I'm a portrait artist so I'm always "painting within the lines" so to speak. Always wanted to try abstract but I didn't know where to start. Can't wait to throw some paint on the canvas and just go with it. Looks very freeing. Thanks!

Just absolutely love this I have been looking to recreate a painting my father did in the 70 couldn't go to him for instructions he gone so when I came across your videos and watched a few I knew that I could do this cuz you have a way to make people believe in themselves and of course I will not get it as great as you at first but I know I will get there so thank you for iinspiring me n of course others to not be afraid of the paint n just go for jt.

I am a painter, I paint houses not just as a living but with the greatest passion as I love it. I always asked my self, can I be creative in any other way? I though that I’m order to be an artist in painting one’s have to be a Picasso, well I just discovered today that I can paint an abstract and let other people interpret what I just painted. Nice and fun to use window wiper blades and box technique s gives different thickness as well for variation s and shapes covers areas. As gaps occur giving more details as well . So other shapes appeared. I really enjoyed this as fun piece of Art work to try . Also of use of sponges for the sides good idea for finishing touches of edges.

Tried this by following the video. Made brown. Gggrrr. Determined to get it right. The paint I have is quite watery, so will use less on my next attempt. Looked good to start, but created hell of a mess and wasted a lot of paint. Love abstract art. So clever and stunning. I love the freedom of abstract.
Yes PJR, sometimes that will happen. Mostly it is due to overworking colours when they are mixed together. Practice is key and all I ever try to do is keep things a simple as possible until I get the hang of things and then gradually progress along the "what if?" scale!!! Let us know how you get on with the next one!
@@SwarezArt I scraped off the brown and was left with the dried coloured streaks underneath. Bunged it outside to reuse canvas another day. It rained. Very cool effect. Bit like silicone in acrylic pouring and the cells. Gonna use it as a background for a new attempt.
