I have worked with elderly people for 30 years. During that time I have introduced many of them to painting. Two of them were in their late 90's. It is never too late. To take pleasure in color is a fundamental joy. What I've experienced with this has brought me so much happiness over the years.
What I love about this 'acrylic pour painting process' ~ Is that it's such a learning curve ~ For the many of us who have been artists for years ~ This particular process allows us the 'freedom' to kick any rules to the curb and just answer to our own instincts ~ It blows my mind that some people literally choose to say that this is not 'real' ART. I would suggest to those who say such judgements ~ That they try it themselves. For me it has really challenged me to let GO ~ To stop criticizing myself and to STOP any need of perfection. I'm SO grateful for this freedom of choices. Much Love To You Riske 💜🤦🧚🐝 ~ You have been one of my biggest inspirations and I'm SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND YOUR PARTENER AND BABY!! 💚💚💚💌
Rinske, I found you during my search to do EXACTLY what you state here--to learn the skills that will allow me to create. I started an Abstract Acrylic class for beginners but it's based on going with your gut and not letting the inner critic sabotage your attempts. But the fact is, I have ZERO skill set so it would be like asking a young child just to sit down and read by feel before they have ever been introduced to the alphabet. KNowledge allows one to be free to rift and create because you can get lost in the process rather than the mechanics AFTER you have mastered at least some of the vital skills. I first came across your blending video and now I found THIS. I am THRILLED and would love to take any classes you may offer. YOu speak my language and have given me the tools and confidence to move forward. Gracie!
@@blackswan7033 dollar store has a small silicone spatula with a removable top, it makes an awesome tool and can also be used with gel pens.. you can streak them, which looks super cool on things, but have to work fast before pen dries, drag ink with spatula and flick it out I've seen almost identical items at art stores for 10x plus ...
I have learned so much from you. I, too, watch a lot of videos and read...then, my creativity blossoms! It is never too late to learn and be creative. I am 71 and have just sold my first painting! Thank you, Rinske.
Same here and I just got done painting!! Had no idea what I was doing but it was fun and its working so im here looking for more tips. I hope you got through your block and have success with art
It's a joy to watch you work. You give so much information. My tutor at college taut us nothing. Even though I finished the course with distinctions, I was cross that he was paid to do nothing. I love experimenting, it's the joy for me. He often asked how I had created things and he was the one with the fat salary. Thankyou again for sharing. Love and light 💞💫💞💫💞💫
I think it is great that, you take the time to demonstrate to people who want to create art, all these diferent and effective techniques. you have certainly inspired me and will continue to do so. Thank You.
Just started a beginners abstract class & this video is quite helpful. I wish that even just a few of ur techniques were part of the 1st class. I will definitely use these. Thanks for sharing.
I want to try creating some art for my wall, but i no NOTHING about painting. This is EXACTLY the type of tutorial video i was looking for to get started! I'll definitely check out some of your other videos! Thanks!
Rinske, even your palette your working from looks like an artwork! I love watching your work, so talented and gifted. You make me feel inspired an inadequate at the same time! Lol ty.
ooooh nice! I need to apply some of these techniques to some of my future abstract paintings. expressing how I feel through art whether its drawing, painting, poems is inspiring
Thank you so much🙏. I like to put different styles of my artwork in my home and painting is one of them. I’ve stuck on one style of painting and need more eclectic pieces. 🙏
Very inspiring! Thank you for this! I think my biggest take away from this is to quit worrying about "doing it right" learn some techniques and do what you want with them. This will definitely make art more fun for me again and less intimidating ❤❤
Beautiful art and very inspirational. I’m already on Skillshare but I find there are not many teachers in the type of art. I think you would be a fantastic Skillshare teacher 😉
OH my goodness, I was trying to learn the pour painting technique and was having a lot of trouble with the paint being too thin or too thick, etc. I watched your technique and now I am excited again to try it out. I thank you for all your learning suggestions.
Thanks a lot ... I appreciate it very much... These will help a lot for someone like me who wish to learn on acrylic painting... 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love watching your videos it really makes everything look so easy. I even scrape what I dont like now and correct my paintings. I made one 120 x 100 and it was so amazing for me to do. I sold it and now have family asking me to do this. Amazingly , it takes the stress away. Thank you😘
I've learned so much from watching you, Molly and other artist. I experiment with some of the techniques to see what works for me in developing my art work. Thank you Rinske, for taking the time and making the effort to impart your knowledge.
Tqvm for sharing your wonderful knowledge. Feels like going to a real class. Now in my country Malaysia we are undergoing through a very high infection rates, therefore we are not allowed to socialise or go out except for essentials or emergency purpose only. So what better way than learn from you.👍👍. Thanks again 👏
What an EXCELLENT & honest presentation about yourself personally. I totally relate to what you're saying about your method and the way you look at others' work. I thought I was the only one that processed this way. There are so many techniques out there so to be able to identfy them, break them down....combine them and use what works for you. I am definitely going to look at this skill share but wanted you to know that your commentary was most appreciated.
Thank you Riske, I am so grateful for your knowledge transfer. I have learned, watched and done so many techniques myself and keep landing on your videos: I love your pictures, your relaxed manner and listening to you!
I love the two top left one’s best. Using a pallet knife but I think that is bringing back something I know to abstract and it makes me happy. Like you I have to keep learning even if I do not use all of the ways. Thank you. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and techniques! Inspiring and helpful. I used to think abstract art would be so easy to create but the opposite is true for me. It’s the hardest! Seems like the first trick is to just let go and have fun. As adults- that’s not always an easy thing to do.
50 years ago before silicone wedges etc. I used to buy matchboxes for 2 pennies (about 20 cents today) which were constructed from a tough thin wood less than 1mm thick. From a matchbox, I would get 2 pieces approx 5cm x 3.5cm. which at first have a very finely serrated edge. Great for some applications but when I used a sharp knife I could use it to manipulate paint like the silicon wedge. Later on, I used plastic cards but they never had the same feel or feedback to my fingers the thin timber did.
Rinske, you have such a wonderful sharing nature. Thank you for all the techniques, tips and tricks. I have followed you from the beginning “dutch pour”! Truly you are a gifted artist and so fun to watch. Your joy radiates is such a real way. It is contagious and always makes me smile. ❤️,Pam
I love when you do these types of videos they are so very helpful with my learning abstract painting journey that I am on. Thank you very much for sharing your skills & talent and I hope to see you do more videos like this as well as your own beautiful abstract art. 😉

A tip is to visit the corner for baking supplies! Sometimes they are better AND cheaper than in the artstore.
What can I get in a baking supply store?😅 there's one just around the corner

@Janna Lemur Productions I have days that I am very inspired to do things, and some not, but that's ok.
It's crazy how painting can be therapeutic yet stressful. Especially if your not feeling the outcome.
