    Nice, but come on Fan Toys,....give us a Rodimus. SOMEONE give us a new and updated Rodiumus. Takara showed it can be done well with their Kingdom version, now someone do it MP style and let's finally have a good one.

    • @Jayce_Alexander
      @Jayce_Alexander Год назад +1

      I'm guessing if they did a Rodimus they'd release it under a different name, like they did with Acoustic Wave. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if "Robot Paradise" gave us a Fanstoys Rodimus someday in the not too distant future. It'd go straight to the top of my wishlist if they did.

    As far as I can tell, Fanstoys must have two designers/teams, or possibly one team replaced another. Or maybe they have their main team and occasionally buy designs from outside.
    You can see this in the difference between figures like their Arcee compared to their Beachcomber. There are designs that require floppy, metal, painted armatures and hinges in many of their designs, and then there are some that just work, without the messy and damage-prone engineering.
    He sure does look good next to the DX9, but only side-by-side. And that's mostly becuase of the glossier red paint. The DX9 was a remarkable figure and the only flaw it had (that I can remember) was the heels are shite.
    I guess if I didn't already have a Powerglide I would be more interested in the FT, but only if I didn't already have the DX9.
    Great review buddy.

  • @htquyet9696
    @htquyet9696 Год назад +3

    Great reviews. Somehow I still prefer the look of DX9's Richthofen. FT only did better arms transformation and good looking feet, while being too complicated and over-engineered and not much improvement in articulations. Richthofen's head sculpt is also way better and closer to the character.
    In every scale, Newage's Powerglide is still the best of all. If Newage ever do MP, they will have FT's quality and Takara's fluid transformation.

    FansToys like complicating things way too much! the transformation is way overboard and all over the place!
    I also don't see how much better it is then Dx9 D11 Richthofen, not really worth changing him for this.
    The DX9 is more fun to Transform and just as accurate to anime!

    I got this figure for the bot mode because I thought it it was gonna be better than the DX9 version due to the paint FT is known for...the DX9 is a better figure overall in bot mode period...I understand the problems with this figure is due to the mass shifting engineering but I'm used to FT figures being solid & mine comes apart whenever I try to pose it + it doesn't pose well anyway...great transformation video tho...

  • @jamesburr25
    @jamesburr25 Год назад

    I just picked Warthog up at TFNation in the U.K. yesterday. Having had time to mess with him today, I like robot and alt mode and FT have done it again with their mass shifting magic. The engineering and transformation of the upper body is actually pretty good, however the lower body is very frustrating with the thin diecast struts and needing to be very precise in their orientation for everything to align correctly.
    In alt mode the weight distribution is off so the front landing gear are not on the ground with the rest of the landing gear. Transformation back to robot mode is much easier and straight forward with the exception of the knee joint again with the thin diecast strut. It’s a poor engineering choice and made the transformation frustrating and unenjoyable. The strut along with the small plastic piece that rotates makes it very challenging to align it correctly.
    This is not one of FT best though I believe it is an older design, which they maybe should have looked at reengineering it. Overall not a fan and if you don’t already own a power glide probably not worth it IMO.

  • @PSYCHOWORLD
    @PSYCHOWORLD Год назад

    I don’t get the hate with this figure no it’s not their top release but it’s still an above average release especially compared to official and other 3p companies, and brilliant looking. Also mine has no build issues. People complaining about articulation must have rose tinted glasses with dx9 because I have both and they have the EXACT same articulation. I get the time of release difference and i agree the articulation on this seems slightly limited in the ankles mainly but The ankle rocker movements are identical with dx9. The paint differences are not acceptable that’s an understandable criticism however not extremely noticeable and the paint job is leagues above what most are putting out. But otherwise a solid release. Thank you for your honest review. Some reviewers are exaggerating and trying so hard to be controversial for views just my thoughts lol and I’m not even a huge FT advocate. I love their products but will call their BS and if we keep listening to misleading reviews these companies will go out of business, they have minimal room for error unlike hasbro or Takara… then we are stuck with mediocre companies sticking around. God forbid but if FT goes out of business mark my words people will then see how wrong they were and how most of their figures are well worth the price. You don’t miss something until it’s gone. Just saying remember this comment. Sorry to rant but it’s something that’s been on my mind….

  • @thetitan914
    @thetitan914 Год назад +2

    Got to say I'm a little disappointed with FT on this one. The paint inconsistency, the lack of ratchets and limited ankle articulation, but overall I still like him. Maybe cause I love the A-10 and the alt mode looks great. Excellent review and transformation instructions, you made it look easy.
    I think the bump in the nose is for bot mode. Most likely a mass shifted cockpit.

  • @nerdraged411

    Interesting review. I have the DX9 version and sure it's great. Engineering I feel sort of set the tone for how this figure's transformation would be possible in most other 3P iterations and you can see many similarities in FT's attempt. Is the fan backlash justified though? Both figures clearly have some issues but I think if you're new to this figure, FT is the way to go, and that's not just me being a fanboy, most probably won't find the original DX9 version at a modest price and might as well just go for Warthog. Seeing as it doesn't really go far enough in besting DX9, I'll probably try catch it on sale somewhere.
