I always found something off on Downbeat's proportions but could never quite put my finger on it, until seeing these two next to each other. I really like Jive's overall proportions.
I love how the arms fold in to the front end, very reminiscent of G1 transformations. I really would like to see what FTs would do with the Datsun brothers. Thanks for the review Sony. Can't wait to get mine in hand.

Can't wait to get this guy, one of the must have autobots as I don't typically care to get many others and I've been waiting for this toon accurate one. Next I am anticipating the Xtransbots Galvatron coming soon hopefully.

I had the TNR version, but upgraded to this. Your reviews are very helpful and entertaining! About the tab in the back to help keep the arm and backpack together, no spudger needed if you rotate the arm out. Use your fingers to get it in place and then just align the tab as you put the arm in place.

I am not a slave to the cartoon, if I was I wouldn't have all the extras on my Datsun brothers. My Jazz does not have door wings, but certainly has his shoulder rocket. 😀

I really appreciate how you take the time at the beginning to explain the steps to get the figure set up out of box. That’s super helpful. Mine should be here tomorrow and I can’t wait. I was personally never a fan of the MT. There were things I wanted from each figure to make the look I really wanted. Thankfully FT nailed what I wanted. I also hated the outward ratchets on the MT so he always had too wide of a stance. Great review TM but it definitely seems from your final recommendation it wasn’t a home run just a solid figure. Looking forward to the versus.

I have the Maketoys premium version which is one of my favorite figures in my collection but I think this beats it in bot mode. FT’s has a way of taking something and making it very G1 cartoon looking but their proportions and overall design always seems more refined and mature to me. I think Maketoys is going into vehicle mode now. Great review thank you

I have become disenchanted with fanstoys. My left leg in the back is missing two screws .his leg was disconnected from the big mushroom pegs.. also, my Aussie figure was missing two plates and screws to clip the legs together in
Alternate mode . Thay sent me the parts. They are also sending screws to fix jive ! I’ve had a great experience with fanstoys up until now !

I didn't catch the notification up until it was already started.. didn't catch the first part🤣. But I am so stoked for this Jazz. He's almost perfect. It's nearly impossible to do the squared chest on him, the way the animation always showed. Which was a little odd to begin with. I saw in their video that foot movement attachment tilts the mechanics in the rear to move simultaneously.

I love the sound you get when handling a FT figure, you can tell it’s well made and sometimes parts of the transformation scare you a bit!

Your reviews are always on point TM so objective 🙏🏿. Agreed, if you're looking for the toon aesthetic, this is the way to go. When you pulled up the G1 image, I was floored, by how accurate it is.
That said, still keeping the premium Downbeat as that evokes the toy version Imho. Jive though absolutely looks spectacular.

Jive looks fantastic. I don’t mind the complex transformation or the stiff joints. Ultra toon and clean I don’t mind though having some more detail like MT which is more toy accurate would be nice but the tampo and paint together look great. Love the fact the doors can be displayed and articulated for a toy look and I love the metallic blue especially on the speakers and the articulation looks pretty good to get some decent poses. Jive is my most anticipated figure this year, but as I ordered through Terry it won’t be with me until January but that’s ok a few months break before the first release of 2023. Great video review and step by step transformation guide. Merry Christmas to you and your family from the U.K. man

Looks fantastic, just like XTB toys look fantastic, but both companies (and Takara too in some cases) need to work on their Transformations, I'm over panel forming and rotating fragile panels that look like they're about to snap off. The moment you started on the legs I let out an audible groan lol. It's MP44 and XTB Virtus rolled into a smaller package.
I will agree the transformation is definitely complex esp the legs, but it doesn't feel fragile like some XTB figures
I'm from Tennessee and that backard sounds like something some of My Cousins would say Hahaha

Thank you for your review. I actually know nothing about fanstoys. For a newbie like me watching for the first time, there are a couple basic information i am chasing, which heft and diecast contents. If you have addressed this, then I’m sorry i missed it.

What tool are you using to point out stuff? It looked like it had a flat side to separate parts, been needing something for that. Great review as always. Awesome review Sony thanku,I had downbeat the premium version(sold it) and I didn't realize how off he was compared to the animation and Jive as well still a good bot though, love how fanstoys is upping their articulation game but transformation doesn't look fun at all,can't w8 2 get mine in hand from Toydojo thanx again 👍
Thanks, yeah seems like with FT if they go for more articulation we get complicated transformation. Nothing compared to Commander Stack tho

Have you had any issues with this figure? I don’t have the figure and I’ve never even held him in my hands. While reading the comments on several review videos, some people mentioned “sliding pins in the chest” falling out. Have you ever experienced that?
I haven't experienced that with either version that I own, but I know what they are talking about. if you force the chest slide it is possible to make the pins come out.

This is a good figure. It's just too bad they went hyper-toon. Works for the cartoon but not for a three dimensional collector piece. Not very visually interesting, but it IS impressive that they were able to replicate the cartoon so closely. I choose not to pay premium prices for something that looks like that, however. For those who enjoy that look, you've definitely got another winner for the shelf.
Robot mode looks excellent! Disappointed with alt mode because the clear windshield was a.bad choicy. Waaaay too much kibble visible in alt mode inside. I planned to display him in car mode but likely he'll remain I'm robot mode.
I'm still perplexed as to why FT decides to target certain characters instead of others... There's literally very little here that's going to get me to switch out my extremely solid MakeToys Downbeat, and instead of focusing on large gaps in people's collections they're going for targets that a lot of people have already taken down and put back into the closet.
I have this guy, his transformation sucks. 😢

@@TMReviews Didn't help, because the technique necessary is clear, but the figure itself fights you. Things constantly popping loose and what not. It's just not a fun process.
Yeah it takes at least two or three rounds to start loosening up and fitting
Skullface didn't have a good time with it. He even said he was about to throw it. Reminds me of what I heard EmGo did to one of those Devil Saviour figures.
