I dunno if this is an older design. I'm more inclined to think that, trying to get Powerglide's robot proportions and vehicle proportions perfect was never going to be anything more than an eldritch implausibility.
On point Bobby! Love the mass-shifting, but everything else is a no-go. DX-9 is a far superior Powerglide.
Such a shame. Powerglide is one of my favorite mini bots. I can only imagine how the comparison to the DX9 Powerglide video will turn out (if there is one coming).

I was on the fence with ordering this figure but after this review, an easy pass. I'll keep my DX9. Had no idea the feet were like that and transformation.....😮. Also, I'm not feeling the jet mode. Good video Bobby

However, based on what I saw in this review, yes, it looks like a piece of junk to me. And that's coming from someone who's always been Fanstoys "fanboy". As they say, "if you like it, you win."
The saturation of the red in the ending montage did NOT go unnoticed...

I was really impressed with how FT managed to get the realistic jet out of the chunky bot like Powerglide, but it seems they were focused to much on making that possible they pretty much forgot about everything else... :/ It was strange to see it next to that, fairly old DX9 bot and think that DX9 looks cleaner... Usually it's the opposite. Oh well, I have a Hunk re-issue to look forward to! :D
I'm keeping my DX9 Powerglide, although I did try to preorder the Fans Toys version but, while checking out, it sold out. Oh well, guess I was lucky as several reviews in, and I think I dodged a bullet. I'm also looking forward to me Fans Toys Brawn.
I really hope they revisit powerglide one day like they did with seaspray. Has potential!

Agreed! I hate the build of this figure, and that (for me) is what makes the transformation more frustrating.

Their Warpath was good. Glad I got the DX9 AOD KO for my Powerglide. This looks like $hit...
I was kicked out the FT's Fanatics group, but I bet there are a some people saying: "Fans Toys did it again!!! My favorite figure since the last Fans Toys figure I bought!!!". Then someone will say: "I'm not convinced, I will stick to my DX..." POW!!! Kicked out from the group for blasphemy!! 😅😁 Don't worry Bobby, you are not alone.
I can’t wait for the verses, this is going to be a landslide, DX9 may be smaller, but it certainly holds together better
I don't have the Fans Toys version but, just looking at pictures and reviews, it should be an easy win for DX9 as it's much cleaner and the paint is the same color. Build quality is also very good for DX9 as well. Alt mode, if transformed properly, goes to Fans Toys though as that plane looks amazing.
I'm impressed they got an accurate looking jet mode, but I think I'll just stick with the DX9 Powerglide I already own.
First FT release I've skipped in a long time and, especially after watching this, I'm glad I did.
Friend of mine has this figure and the arm broke while trying to transform it. Transformation looks like a nightmare though, and glad I gave this a pass and will stick with my DX9.
I got lucky as I was actually checking out when it sold out. I was going to wait to see if it came back in stock but, after watching 3 video reviews, it's a super easy pass as I'll be keeping my DX9 as well.
I did cancel mine I could not deal with the feeeet! and I could not pretend that there were ratchets.
I'll give it you that you really tried with this one. I love both modes but getting there looks like quite the chore.

Man, I was so excited for a FT Powerglide after all their other minibots kept turning out so great.I can so easily imagine what a FT Powerglide could look like if it had the style of the other FT minibots. But then they had to abandon all that for the sake of a realistic alt mode, resulting in this compromised, over-engineered mess, Such a shame.
Spend a year in jail, or stay in jail until you can solve this rubix's cube of a figure...IYKYK
My first thought when you pulled the feet out was that it looked like something out of the movie “The Fly” Goldblum version of course.

The juice isn’t worth the squeeze especially at the that price and when I already have the DX9. Background character that I don’t care too much about - preorder cancelled. Thanks Bobby. I’ll put the $ towards the Maketoys Contactshot reissue and be a lot happier.
There was a ton of ambition in this figure, but some compromise would've been good. More secure locking points would've benefited the experience and maybe some temporary pegs for the wings to hold in place during transformation.

Fanstoys channeling some MP Bumblebee 2.0 with this release. So panely and fiddly with a crazy amount of over-engineering.

I learned my lesson transforming Rouge. Gonna leave this guy in bot mode....DX9 for jet mode. I figure once you transforrm Warthog, it won't be the same in bot mode....

I don’t get the mismatch paint & no ratchets on this figure. I do like the alt mode though.
With that aside do you think all transformers should have a “easy” or rather natural transformation that could be done without instructions kind of like FT’s Dinobots. Are we just doomed due to most wanting accuracy in both modes, which this figure fails at.
OH MY GOD. PLEASE, everybody... Stop trying to flaten the wings. They are designed to be at a slight angle after the landing geat pylons, just like the real A-10. You are all stressing the joints.
Mines on its way so too late to do anything about it, but everything I've seen makes me think I'll be keeping the DX9. I'm expecting the vs to be interesting.

It's OK to have a favorite jet. I'm torn between the A-10 and F-14 though. Obviously I am that old now. I really want this guy for alt mode but I'm starting to worry a little.
05:10 Ratchets? Has FT had ratcheted joints on anything in the last few years? They're mostly known for their tight friction joints hence the infamous FT squeak.

Is really a shame that Fans Toys didn't built a good Powerglide, I think that we expected an amazing figure as they already show us before.

So since this figure's a total wash, what third party Powerglide figure is considered the current top runner for a masterpiece Powerglide?
Well, it's either this one or DX9 Richthofen, which is an older but excellent version of the character. If you don't mind the slightly smaller size and less "premium" finish, the DX9 bot is an great looking Powerglide.

Maybe some day FT will develop a sense for which joints and connections should tight and which should be looser... but it is not this day. Also, structural tabs on a flimsy ass tension clip... wow. It's too bad about this one. I like the look and I like the size, but since I lose patience with the engineering on the GOOD fans toys releases I can't imagine putting up with this.

Dude, when are companies going to put heads on a pull-up joint to then allow upwards and downwards movement? Very few figures have done it, DX9 Gabriel comes to mind, but it’s long overdue.
This is the absolute worst. Never have I ever regretted a Fanstoys purchase. NEVER!!! This one I regret 110%. I will not say that I will not buy another Fanstoys because at this point they’re probably 85% of my overall collection. I can say that this guy will never see the light of day on my shelf. The lack of ratchet joints, the lack of thought that seems to have went into the design of this thing, make this the worst Fanstoys release of all time. That wouldn’t be that big of a deal we’re it sandwiched or following really great releases, but it’s really not for me. Disappointing really. Thanks for the video Bobby. At least you made the depression entertaining 😊

So much cool engineering just got too complicated. Love the arms for instance. Never saw anything like that before. And when he’s cleaned up It looks so good in both modes too! Such a shame.

Reminds me of the frustration with Parkour, just needed Bobby to drop a fidilybits comment. Gotta say this is the first time I’m not excited for the figure to come in the mail. Left thinking 2.0 to come like Seaspray. Shame, this one looks like a big miss.

That’s a shame, Powerglide Is one of my favorite characters. I think he looks pretty good, but that build being poor is such a bummer, Cliff also had build issues another favorite of mine. Not sure why they make ‘em’ this way these days.

Agreed. 2022 figures from this company looked good AND transformed easily and fluidly. UNTIL JIVE...that POS broke on me..and Parkour was bo bo as well...this looks along those same shitty lines of tranforming....Fanboys will still praise it because all they will do is plop it on their shelf in an A stance and say ...darrrr FT is great darrrrr pew pew

When a great Company goes too far left we get something like this. Another skip just like FTs minibots after Beach Comber.
I will never buy another FT product again given the issues I have with it..
