These are like my Oscars. Only instead of getting to feel smart about how many Best Picture nominees I've seen, I get to feel smart about how many of the Best Toys I've bought. (4/5 this year)
Every time you said "you get what you get and you don't get upset" I thought, "why doesn't that sound right?" and then it came to me- I always heard it as "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit." I also haven't heard it in years, which is why it took a second to puzzle it out.
I don't have a MASK collection other than a few survivors from my childhood so I didn't mind the slightly larger offerings from Ramen but I totally get it from your perspective. I'd say Ramen got the proportions done a little better too just from looking at the two Thunderhawks side by side. This brings me around to The Loyal Subjects and their new Mask line coming soon, it seemed like they are gonna do straight copies from the press release but we don't know for sure. I wonder if they end up changing scale and/or proportions, perhaps you will finally get your properly scaled Great White through them. Fingers crossed for ya!
May i know how you decide the top 5 worst figure if you only bought 3 of them? And one more question, what do you expect a godzilla to pose? Brrak dance? Hero landing pose?
Out of curiosity, Bobby, did you have any experience with the Ramen Toy Gullwng before handling their Shark? Because that might explain your unfulfilled expectations.I don't have any of my vintage MASK toys any more, so for Ramen to come out with these improved versionsthat still had those vintage vibes, was a real dream come true.
Yes I’ve reviewed 3 or 4 things from them I believe. My disappointment has NOTHING to do with ramen and EVERYTHING to do with how I thought that piece would make me feel. It’s a me thing. Not a them thing
And why would they sculpt Batman's balls? Oh that was the stand. The DareDevil is awesome. He looked like he was going to scrawny as the promotional photos didn't do him any favors. He is really well done.
Glad to see someone putting DeeJay on their top list and being objective about it; most folks are quick to promote the Guile and Cammy lately, with no mention of him. You hit it on the head; I was least excited about the character but pleasantly surprised by the figure.
10:14 the 2014 doesn't move?? Or did you mean the 2019 design? Its just that the picture you showed was from the 2014 design which is the most articulated Godzilla of theirs so far and released veeeeery recently.
@MythsAndHeroes oh that explains, one released this month but idk if it got to America yet, it can do way more, thats the one in the picture, the one from the last movie is the 2024 version from GvK. Hiya has been updating articulation since that release, same as their upcoming kong 👍
Just my opinion on SHF. They've been wack for awhile & they SEVERELY lack for the price. They're 2 small & they skimp out on important things or at least things you should get for the price (like the Ledger Joker chain for example.) I don't think they're worth it all. They're in the place Hasbro was in with it's mainline TF's during the Combiner Wars/PoP's era. They're just imports to us so they seem more rare. They lack behind every other company in the price bracket. That Hot Toys Batman is pretty much the exact fig they made years ago w/ the DX 89 Batman I recently sold. It seemed outdated 10 years ago.
Great list. I can relate and agree with almost all of it. I got the Super 7 Lion O and instantly regretted it. I won’t buy another figure from them until they change. The Jada toys figures were my standout figures of the year, for the price point and articulation and sculpt being done so well.
The only non transforming figures ive received this year have been jada SF, its been a good year! I have paid off a Three Zero fallout power armour figure, but that wont hit till Jan.
Ouch, Hiya Toys Legendary Godzilla got the Bobby Skullface Worst List, well I get where he's coming from, Godzilla definitely is a brick, but you don't see Godzilla doing any dramatic poses and besides someone mentioned that Hiya Toys is improving their articulation on these kaiju/Titan figures. Maybe see a Hiya Toys kaiju figure that surprised Bobby to the point it's on the Surprisely Good or Best figure list next year.
I know you don’t give a shit, but for the viewers, The Megazord you showed here isn’t the one you actually looked at. (I’m the one who sent it to you) it was a highly stylized one. The pics of the one you posted here was of a model kit.
My new year resolution is to stop buying Super7 Thundercats. Lol

Interesting to hear variations to different sayings that you grew up with, I’ve always heard it as “you get what you get and that’s all that you get”
You only get what you give.
Like Homer Simpson holding 2 ice cream cones while driving, he told Lisa “you chose fruit, you live with fruit.”
Awesome video!
Very well done

@@MythsAndHeroes Understood. It makes you think how much we tend to exaggerate the impact of "the one that got away" when we were kids in our mind.
Loyal subjects releasing M.A.S.K. vehicles with figures at retail next year.

Whichever was most recent. I thought it was revealed this year. The one I reviewed I believe was based on the recently released live action movie

Revoltech Moon Knight is my figure of the year.

Jada mega man toys are killing it (obviously street fighter too)
100% agree with Daredevil!!

It's a good thing you washed out the face on that SHF Guile with lighting. It looks like some kinda gremlin/orc face.
Nice. Three of my figures I sent made it in the tops. lol

Didn't know the Mask rolled in with a 928.
Daredevil is definitely my favorite figure of the year.
Super7 is all trash. Only thing I ever bought is the 3.75" scale G1 Toy Unicron, even knowing going in I was paying $20 for a $5 figure.
