I am rebuilding my 1980's fiberglass lakeboat. This boat build is inspired by the fun and energy of the Back to the Future series. I am completely rebuilding every aspect of this boat. Huge modifications, future forward ideas and super creative ways to use materials. Join me as I take this 40 year old boat....into the FUTURE!

I like it ! Your ambition knows no bounds. You need no music (or drop it down to -20dB-- it detracts from the real amateur boat building you're doing.😀👌

@RebuildProjects I loved it, I'm actually thinking of doing the side chines aswell. Curious to find out how well the polyester resin laminates to the composite decking boards. I was thinking of using thermolite, but like you said it's 500 a sheet and it's another 250 to get a truck to drop it off. We can't get coosa in Australia or we'll atleast I couldn't find it. Any way I'm gonna put on the latest one now flipping the boat back. I can't wait to see you do the bow raise I'm gonna attempt mine without cutting out so much but I'll wait to see how you tackle it and maybe steal some of your ideas.

Hi, I find the best way/supply to adhere composite deck boards to fiberglass panels or cloth & resin is to sand the boards with 40 or 60 grit sanding. Then acetone "bath" heavy wipedown. If its a premade panel, I like using Rayplex's premixed 5gal structural bonding and bedding putty. I think Total Boat makes a bonding putty thats close. And if I am laminating straight to the deck boards, I use laminating resin and mix up a small amount first and coat the boards. Almost like priming them with resin but I use a bit more catalyst so that it kicks off quickly. Then when it tacks up, I start my layup/layups. Keep in mind I try to use these boards mostly in non structural areas or in the case of my transome, I use them in compression. I'll be using more deck boards in the gunnel construction and bow deck in upcoming videos. Happy New Year.
