I liked it, because it fit the overall theme of life. Sometimes shit just happens with no explanation, and it fully fucks up your everyday life as it used to be. Also, I really loved that Violet was really just a selfish asshole, and the mystique around her was fully just from Cardamom's pov.

same!! it got too repetitive in my opinion. also, cass got really annoying and generaly out of character imo, since she just kept saying mean things to bee, like "deckard could be here right now if it wasnt for you, bee!! youre the reason he left" blah blah blah. like, in season one she practically was forcing him to go to culinary school because she knew it would be good for his future, so whar's this fuss all about?? bee also generally doesnt act the same, she's mature, sure, but she's not fun anymore. she's lacking some personality. i also wish they focused more on cardamon, his mom and the backstory of bee and puppycat. the pacing is confusing and the jokes are not funny anymore. anyway, it just doesnt hit the same to me :( PS. just because this is my opinion, doesnt mean bee and puppycat season 2 is bad in general!! if you like it, thats totaly ok, and im glad youre able to enjoy it. ty for reading this
I always thought of Bee and Puppycat as a mystery series. But it's not like Gravity Falls where the truth is actively hidden, but more like people just don't talk about everything all the time, so the audience doesn't know 'cause no one brings it up. Felt more grounded in reality to me.
Literally! This Netflix "remake" just feels like a bullshit fanfiction trying to act like its better. I remember how the old show felt and this feels like a disgusting ripoff!
I cannot describe this show in any way other than *an absolute and total VIBE* My only complaint is that in the original puppy cat being the prince was IMPLIED. Heavily implied but still implied. In the Netflix show it was just shoved in your face in like... the first episode... It was a bit disappointing but I still really loved all that puppycat backstory stuff
I'd say the same about her being a robot as well, in the youtube series there were small hints that didn't add up until you realized like how she's really strong, or that time she punched through the wood boards didn't seem big but now kinda clicks into the puzzle, or how her first dream when staring at the ribbons on her arms made her feel sad it had to do with her uh...parts? But then in the netflix series there's a scene in like the first ten minutes where her shoes are FULL OF GLASS and she's STILL WEARING THEM WITHOUT FLINCHING, oh yeah and when she took the blame for decard her hands are charred black but she is still unfazed and using them. it's like yeah I dunno how you think in any capacity a human could withstand any of that, anybody with eyes is gonna be painfully suspicious.
The wildest thing about this show was that I’ve been there since the pilot… I literally graduated secondary school started college had a break year restarted college again entered a different decade of my life before I got to watch lazy in space
I really enjoyed the show and it’s weird awkward charm, and while I was pretty confused at times I still had pretty solid time, so it definitely came as surprise to me people had issues with it.
I genuinely love the fact that despite being bought by Netflix and now having a big company behind the project, Puppycat can still be voiced by a VOCALOID! Oliver gives him a special touch!
Will never get over them removing Deckard’s crush on Bee, also didn’t he used to have a stutter? I miss that too ): Deckard was always my favourite character so it sucked to see him just, be gone, for 90% of the show
I've been following this show for forever. Season 2 (lazy in space / netflix episode 4 onwards) was originally meant to be made for vrv but it went way over deadline and vrv dropped it. It was in limbo for a while as they tried to get someone to licence it but would release it if it wasn't picked up by a certain date (forgot the date) netflix picked it up and most likely asked for them to remake the first seasons quickly in the same style as season 2. Kinda greatful it didn't go to vrv, it's not available outside the US so I'd have no way to watch it legally
yeah, people tend to forget that practically all of lazy in space was already finished by 2019, the first episode even premiered at Ottawa Animation Festival
i will cry if we don't get anymore seasons of the show. I loved it. such a soft melancholy vibe that i adored tbh. i just wonder how many people who don't watch with subtitles will miss out on Puppycat's translated volcaloid lines.
I loved the 10 episodes online and was devastated when season 2 felt like it'll never come. Then it did, and it feels nostalgic to me somehow, I love it.
Yesssssssssss & plus this makes conversation + friend making easier as a nice conversation starter, bee & puppycat being main stream rn makes it accessible & relevant, plus if you find out other people watched the original online series you know you'll have even more in common! just cool internet culture things 😍😍😍
the reason why the first 3 episodes specifically being so weird is because originally lazy in space was just a continuation of the original youtube series. but they struggled to find a streaming platform and the entire season got leaked online. By the time it got to Netflix’s hands, they decided it would just be a whole reboot and eps 1-3 are just condensed versiojs of season 1
@@DS-nh4gu IIRC the episodes beyond the weird ones are pretty much exactly the same as leaked lazy in space but it’s been a while since ive seen the leaked eps so take that with a grain of salt
I miss this show, I use the "you took too long, now your candy's gone, that's what happened" on my kids all the time. And the Bravest Warriors is excellent for catbug
I'm shocked nobody is mentioning contrapoints, voicing the sheep hand warlock. This show was a genuine joy. I fell in love with this show. I too need another season! I never saw the series anywhere before hand.
Sounds like a messy history. Somehow I find the fairy tale backstory to be more interesting than the main story, but find it a tad frustrating that it'd been relegated to "prolonged mystery box" status for now. Might you consider a "What Happened" essay on some other shows, like Wander over Yonder, Steven Universe, Twelve Forever, Infinity Train, The Cuphead Show, Dead Meat by the Billy and Mandy guy, or "Star vs the Forces of Evil"?
I started to watch the Netflix version but it deeply upset me that they thinned Bee out. One of my favorite parts about the original design was that she was bigger and for Netflix they made her noticeably thinner which didn't sit right with me. And the changes they made felt superficial. Like it didn't feel like enough substantial change was made between this and the original Lazy in Space to warrant a complete redo. When this was announced, I thought they were going to upload the original shorts (and maybe a reanimation of the pilot) and then use their new Netflix budget and time to expand on where the OG Lazy in Space ended, which is pretty much exactly the same place. Honestly, I think that would've been a better option.
I think the core fan base who grew up watching the Bee and Puppycat episodes on RUclips found the transition from that to what Netflix offered very difficult I can 100% relate to this. I’ve rewatched the original pilot so much to the point when ik it line to line But for the life of me I can’t get into the Netflix version yet!! (however I have faith that my passion for it would return)
My theory of why bee doesn't like water: You saw her as a child so she was probably alive at some point as an actual human. I think she drowned and retains memories and or feelings about the situation because of her dad.
I figured it was because she’s a robot and as water plus electronics equals bad, even if she’s water proof, it’s something that she does not like to mix
Isn’t there a lot of drowning symbolism? This would make sense. I assumed it was bc she was a bot but she can in fact touch water and be fine but she prefers not to. Good observation !
the thing abt Lazy in Space is how its a semi-reboot of sorts, which is why they turned Bee and Deckard’s mutual crush on each other into a mother-like bond and made Crispin have a one-sided crush on the oblivious cyborg. Though, I much prefer Beeckard and the overall vibe and art style of the first season/original series, I find it interesting how they chose Crispin as the new love interest because of his hobby of tinkering with machinery (outside of his clowns obsession), so we dont rlly know if he loves her as a person or loves her as like a test subject since he knows from the start that shes a cyborg.
They made Bee skinny and removed a lot of the humour that made the show what it is but the visuals where amazing and the story felt like it was better thought out in lazy in space. I wish that leak stuff never happened so we might’ve gotten more seasons since it still feels incomplete but i have to say I did watch the leaks before it came to Netflix. BAPC has been a big part of my life since the pilot and im happy more people can easily access it now.
A show about the quarterlife crisis when you need to find your first job and become an adult? I would love to, but I am going in the opposite direction xD I really enjoyed the original, it was so short and condensed, so then the remake came out it felt much longer. And it hit even more personally. I should finish it.
Definitely prefer the original online season, and there were some changes in the Netflix series I wasn’t happy with, but I was just so delighted by the quality and how the show kept most of its charm
Netflix put this in my suggested watches - and I ADORED IT. I watched the online show after lazy in space and I enjoyed it too. The humor was a bit forced for me, though I still loved it. Lazy in space really opened a lot up for exploration in future seasons, provided we get it. I have been watching and rewatching it for weeks now. I want another season sooooo bad.
I love the online and Netflix shows! I really love this series and hope it gets another season! When I watched the series online I loved how weird and funny it was not afraid to be random with a bit of lore to it. The Netflix show version definitely had a different feel to it but now as someone who is a working adult I really relate to this show how complicated adulting can be. I feel like the online series was perfect for me when I was a kid growing up but now as an adult the Netflix show is a good fit for me now.
I watched Bee and puppycat when it was a web series. I was in Highschool during the time and absolutely loved this show! Now I am excited to have watches the Netflix series!
I adored Bee and Puppycat on Netflix! I didn't know about the OG version, so I can't compare. But it felt so warm and comforting, even in the stranger, darker parts. I think the best way to enjoy it is to just go with the flow and not try to find logic at all. I think I enjoyed it so much because I accepted from the beginning that it was mostly a vibe and that I just didn't have to make sense of it.
Also just want to say that Frederator existed long before MCN's on RUclips. I remember them from the end credits of Fairly Odd Parents all the way back when. MLAATR as well, iirc.
I loved the show. The pastel palette colors they use, the art style, music, characters just was a really comfy show. I really liked how Bee is so chill and goes with the flow. So many questions need answered but i don't really need them answered right away, because the show was just so calm Saturday morning vibes. Excited to see that hopefully it gets season 2 announced soon
I can't deny that I liked the old one better, especially Birthday Game I'm really sad they redid that episode. Oh well though, I really hope that if they make a season 2 it'll jump back up!
I feel like having waited an eternity for the show to return… I can’t help but feel like I should support despite it losing some of its original charm. It’s been a decade I’m just happy there’s a continuation and hope it won’t get canceled.
Pen and Nat write a lot together and I can tell you that they really are “just like that” haha, they have humours similar to each other so that’s probably why they are long time friends!!
I love this show. It's good to watch as a kid and as an adult during chilly holidays. I like how nonchalant the main characters react, I like how they tease a bunch of lore but the main characters don't want to look further. To be honest, neither do I, the characters just want to be a comfort show, and so do I.
I love this show! My favorite character is Moully. When season 1 released on youtube I remember thinking his voice sounded exactly like Nilesy, and I also loved watching the Yogscast then too. But he wasn’t credited at the time I think so I had to ask on his Tumblr and he confirmed it, it was really cool
Lazy in space is a show I put on around bedtime cause it's calming however this lead me to believe I didn't understand the end because I was half asleep, glad to know I'm not alone
I absolutely adored this show. It was oddly comforting and I was in love with the weird, whacky way it went about things. The story was insane in the best way possible. I miss it
I remember i remember watching this show years ago when bravest warriors was still airing as well. I honestly forgot about the both of them and thought they got canceled
Aesthetically it was beautiful, there is lots of good ideas. I just hate how the pacing got super crazy slow, there was so much dead air in the show. Deckard kind of got shafted and the romantic subplotline between him and Bee was majorily cut down in lieu of his brother. It felt maybe it was building to something grand or amazing, but I have the feeling it will never really get a conclusion. I dunno, it left me feeling very unfulfilled.. like it almost did something.. but the original series was so much tighter and funnier IMO.
Yeah the pacing was terrible - so many filler episodes that were fun but took the plot nowhere; and then suddenly, lots of rushed plot developments in the last episode. The show is clearly at its strongest in the comfort food filler episodes
By the time the second season was finally ripped from vrv and uploaded elsewhere prior to the Netflix edition IT HAD BEEN SO MANY YEARS WHEN I ACTUALLY GOT TO SEE IT I DISCOVERED I HAD ENTIRELY OUTGROWN IT'S COMEDY
With all the time it took for Bee and Puppycat to happen I went through elementary school, middle school and I am in high school with a few years yet. I get it takes time to produce a show. But I’m literally growing up with this show
I enjoyed watching it. The only thing that bothered me was I had to fully change my netflix subtitles to know what puppycat was saying because the white text couldn't be read against pastels. Also the wrestler chick was just so funny
I can't recall the specifics but, RUclips had this thing they were trying out at the time, a funding system for certain channels, Frederator was one of them but, RUclips saw that it wasn't worth it in the end, and cut funding which messed up some of the _if not all the_ Frederator cartoons up at the time... I could be misremembering but, that's what I heard from somebody else.
IM SO SURPRISED NO ONE IS TALKING ABT THE SUDDEN VOICE CHANGE OF CARDAMON UNTIL IT GETS FIXED. LIKE ITS NOT EVEN A SUBTLE CHANGE ITS A WHOLE TODDLER TO LATE TEEN
I LOVED it. I am chronically ill so i like shows that both ask questions for when I'm not hurting and that are beautiful to watch for when i am. Bee and puppy cat was that. I also kind of liked how they did lore. See I'm a world builder (one day ill finish my book... but i keep adding because world and starting other stories because ideas) So i noticed a lot of the foreshadowing before the reveals. Because as i watched i asked myself how i would build with the resources the show has given and predicted things (I figured the ship would be big and i thought it would be the mountain... I was close but the island is far more then i expected). And like i would love to be in a theorist community about bee and puppy cat if they ever make a season two.
As someone who just stumbled into this show I really enjoyed it. It did take a couple episodes for everything to take off but I think it has serious charm and an amazing vibe. It is engaging, confusing, heartbreaking but as someone who is mid twenties struggling with life I found that to be very true to real life. I hope for multiple seasons. There are not many shows with this specific aesthetic and vibe. I'll check our the previous season now thank you.
PLEASE, can you make a review of HILDA? The show has two seasons and a movie (3rd and final season is confirmed and is based on a book) and is incredibly beautiful. It's funny, smart and overall really good. Not many skip episodes and a comfy watch (best with hot coco and a blanket). If you could maybe consider watching the show, it would mean the world to me. Anyways, have a nice time and stay negative.
As someone who went in blind I liked that they gave me a quick rundown at the start. Also the LoFi vibe had me continue watching bc I needed noise and I really liked the hints of a mystery they tossed out, I didn't much appreciate the cliffhanger but everything else made it an enjoyable ride
13:32 The scientific plural is octopodes, but colloquially both octopuses and octopi are both correct since octopuses would come from the original Greek but the Romans took it as a lone word but used the roman endings which would be octopi
Its kinda sad because most of the original fans and supporters of the kickstarter campaign were expecting a funny, normal paced and story based series, and the creators went and delivered a completly different experience: now it is a very chill, very pasive watch, almost non-story based-all-vibes cute aesthethic show. This new chill series is not bad, but it is kinda wrong that the creators use the fans money but didnt give the show they asked for.
Having been a fan since the show came out sooooo long ago, I will say that season 2 is exactly what I wanted. I used the original season as a comfort show for forever, and now I do the same for season 2. People complain about the pacing, but if every episode was just all story based then it wouldn't be nearly as chill, so I'm glad they kept all the big drama plot stuff for the last episodes, like they did for season 1.
I have personally watched a whole bunch of shows that end of cliffhangers that never get resolved because they do not continue for one reason or another. While I prefer stories that can remain self-contained and not obligate you to watch a second season, I don't hate open-ended endings like Bee and Puppycat Lazy in Space had. It is less of a cliffhanger and more of a transitional period. We know that what is happening in the future will take some time to expand upon and probably won't just be resolved the very next episode. It is frustrating, but this "cliffhanger" is probably the least offensive one I have seen.
@@josiahjohnson1666 this is fair and I don’t disagree, but that was kind of my point. The season ends in a transitional moment, there is obviously a lot of story left that isn’t going to be resolved immediately. Typically, cliffhangers are called cliffhangers because it’s like leaving a character dangling from a cliff, as in, the situation you left off at is going to revolve reasonably quickly in one way or another. I do not believe that this season of Bee and Puppycat even ended in what you could call a cliffhanger, because it’s not going to be something that is immediately resolved. Cliffhangers are generally supposed to be tense, purposefully frustrating instances or big reveals at the end of a story than compel you to stick around for the next instalment. This didn’t feel so much like that, in my opinion. I am typically a big fan if works like Bee and Puppycat, that reveal things in more passive ways rather than forcing the story and constantly leading the audience to the conclusion that the writers want. I was a big fan of the first season of the tv series Westworld, until the last episode of the first season when the big bad guy goes on his unnecessary overexplanatory monologue that breaks all the rules of “show don’t tell” storytelling. For a lot of people, Bee and Puppycat leans too far in the other direction of show but never tell never talk about it only vague illusions. I understand how that can be frustrating, but it’s personally one of my favourite types of storytelling and it feels very true to the nature of characters to not overexplain or questions certain things because they’re living their lives and not narrating a story. But that’s just my personal stance, I can definitely understand why other people are frustrated by it and are more keen for the plot relevant parts to be clarified or more deeply explored, but I don’t think this is that type of show and I think it’s purposefully not that type of show.
I just finished the Netflix run last night and was looking to see what analysis was out there! I really want to see where another season could go and love how it's both charming and has a lot of lore to dig through if you're into that.
A star walks into a black hole but doesn't seen phased. The black hole then turns to the star and says, "I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation."
The only thing I remembered of those shows(Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors, Bee & Puppycat, Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel) you mentioned are their category in my brain's filing cabinet: annoyingly quirky cartoons. I'm suprised that Bee & Puppycat got more than pilots though, I thought it's one of those "stillborn" cartoon.
Thank you for this video! I've been following Bee and Puppycat for a few years now but never really kept up with what was going on behind the scenes too much.
I agree with everything you’ve said! I was disappointed that the comedy and delivery of lines felt off with the Netflix series and I’ve missed the RUclips version for years! But I’m glad Bee and Puppycat are back. I will riot if we don’t get a season 2 tho.
I just finished this show today and I really hope it gets another season. It has such a lovely charm to it, and I hope it gets the attention it deserves
With Bee being a baby in that clip, I’m pretty sure she also mentions something about her getting sick in her birthday episode, and I’m fairly certain I saw a theory about her getting sick, passing away, and her dad creating the Bee we know to replace her in a way.
One time in science class in 9th grade my group got into am argument about the plural of octopus. My vote was octopi, and eventually after bickering a bit the kid next to me slapped his textbook and interrupted us with "OBVIOUSLY, it's octopussy." The argument promptly fizzled out as we all laughed way too hard.
I didn't know what Lazy in Space was in relation to the original when it appeared on Netflix, and my memories of watching the original had gone hazy, so it made for an interesting experience of "wait, I've _watched_ this before, haven't I?"
The way I went from being completely uninterested in watching a show at all to two of my favorite RUclipsrs making a whole video about it, I guess I’ll have to watch the show.
Being a fan since 2013, it's been rough being a fan. It's an awesome show with so much potential but the studio has been driving me crazy with promises of release dates over the years --several times over and NEVER reaching the supposed deadline and then going radio silent for years. The only complied time was it going on netflix. Sometimes you just thought it was cancelled. Especially since the kickstarter made all that money and then there was the promise for episodes. Then you heard the team was in japan making episodes, and subsequently years later you finally find out oh there is a season, but it wasn't released but LEAKED. I saved and watched the leaked episodes tbh and they're way better. I also watched the netflix series. I almost cried watching the first 2 netfkux episodes cause they were so bad and different. And certainly lazy with all the chibi drawings. The season aligned more to the lazy in space leaked show from then on with some noticeable changes, but it's definitely a slightly different show. If you're a new fan, you wouldn't notice, but as an OG, which a lot of people are, it's disappointing AF and unprofessional. PS. I even had welovefine merch from Bee and Puppycat still like the puppycat doll and I threw away my puppycat onesie thought because it got a little messed up. I was in early high school when this show dropped! Crazy how it's 2023 and we're still talking about it 10 years later
I was kind of underwhelmed by the Netflix series, but I chalked that up to me being in a different place now vs. when the original pilot and webisodes were released (also I found the Toast subplot really annoying). But I'll always have a soft spot for the series as a whole. It resonated with me at one point in time, and that's enough for me.
I was really into the original pilot, and even got some of those comics. However I kind of fell off in the full Frederator series and found it too obnoxious? I wonder if the lessened humour is why I fell back in with Lazy in Space. The first two episodes where a bit hard to get through, but when that melancholy hit I really found it comforting.
i was so excited for the lazy in space on netflix but watching it was so disapoiting. the first 3 ep was basically a reboot. a lot of the things stayed the same but more things changed. (cardemons voice made me cry, i dont like changing voice actors bc cmmon, hes so old now)
@9:05 one of my main complaints with netflix is they removed all the little things that made the characters more relatable and gave them so much depth. Its like netflix wanted to speed up the pace and turn up the wacky factor but now the jokes aren't right... like.. ppl put their fingers in the pie.
Just an anecdote: I watched this show when I was 15 or something in that area. And, OF COURSE, I didn't understand what this show was about and I was like "wait, is there even a sense or is it just random stuff throw here and there?" Now I have an answer: I need to wait before rewatching it.
I actually recently looked into we love fine after finding some bags i got from them, they still sell merchandise just on another site. Its also mostly homestuck and rwby. They also run the merch site for valve games.
I love this show, but I 100% feel like I have been deceived. I expected a whole thing and got like half a thing. It’s like buying a hardcover copy of a game just for it to tell you that it’s an online download.
Ok, I’m glad I watched this. I dropped the show after the first 3 eps cuz it just wasn’t doing it for me quite like the og version. NO CHARM! But I will give it another chance :)
I watched the entire series and do want another season. But I feel like they left the ending like they left you the entire series. You don’t question why, you just enjoy the ride and be thankful you got to witness any of it 😂
I found Bee and Puppycat on Netflix and didn’t find out about the original until recently and I’m so obsessed. I desperately want more 😭 also obsessed with the fact the VA for Toast is the VA for the Dic Sailor Moon dub
Lazy in space very much feels like it has the opposite issue of adventure time. Adventure time always felt like it was about to do something big, it wanted there to be a big epic story filled with lore. But they were trapped in a highly episodic formula. So, any time something potentially interesting got going, it got cut just a little short, and it made the show unsatisfying and frustrating. There were good parts for sure, but over all it never got where it needed to be. Lazy in space is very much the opposite for me. Bee and puppycat had weird lore and a big story going on, but it always felt like the focus was on simpler things. There was a hurricane around bee, but she lived in the eye, and that was comforting. I didn't want answers, i didn't wanna go on a big epic adventure. I wanted to escape that and live in this peaceful bubble with bee. It was unique in that aspect, and i think its cozy vibe put it right where it needed to be. A safe place, where the lore wasn't as important as bee having a fun day. I wish it had stayed there.
I watched this before you did. so happy you understand my feelings! because I agree with everything you said. really. I need an ending to this show like right now
I watched the Netflix series first and became INSTANTLY obsessed. I just recently started watching the episodes 1-10 from cartoon hangover and I love it so much more! I’ve watched the Netflix series so many times I’ve lost count, my 11 year old son loves it too
The Netflix series feels like someone excitedly over explaining something and making wildly appropriate fan theories. It doesn't feel the same to me, but I see the same passion in the show.
Oh my god I’m so glad you covered bapc I’m a new fan and I’m mostly lost I just felt high watching this show and just accepted it, I have never been high before
Still haven't watched the Netflix show even though I was obsessed with the RUclips one. This was a nice reminder that the Netflix one FINALLY came out. (Also love your lip look)
All of this is speaking everything we long time fans of the webseries have been thinking this whole time! Puppycat...Bee..we had so much hope and faith in you 😭 but it has changed into something a little hard to identify with. I still love it but it's not the same and I feel like Netflix wanted alterations to make it appealing to average Netflix viewers and not B&P fans & viewers..that goes down for everything to aesthetic, obvious humor, presentation, etc. It's giving LETS MAKE IT FIT IN when it should stand out like it originally did
I watched Bee and puppy cat on Netflix and that ending felt like a midseason finale
I liked it, because it fit the overall theme of life. Sometimes shit just happens with no explanation, and it fully fucks up your everyday life as it used to be.

The Netflix show made me too anxious, it lacks the timing the original run had.
Also, very bold move to end the series on a cliffhanger this huge.

same!! it got too repetitive in my opinion. also, cass got really annoying and generaly out of character imo, since she just kept saying mean things to bee, like "deckard could be here right now if it wasnt for you, bee!! youre the reason he left" blah blah blah. like, in season one she practically was forcing him to go to culinary school because she knew it would be good for his future, so whar's this fuss all about?? bee also generally doesnt act the same, she's mature, sure, but she's not fun anymore. she's lacking some personality. i also wish they focused more on cardamon, his mom and the backstory of bee and puppycat. the pacing is confusing and the jokes are not funny anymore. anyway, it just doesnt hit the same to me :( PS. just because this is my opinion, doesnt mean bee and puppycat season 2 is bad in general!! if you like it, thats totaly ok, and im glad youre able to enjoy it. ty for reading this
@@MsSumoonthey're still posting bee and puppycat on tik tok, I just hope that's a good sign
I always thought of Bee and Puppycat as a mystery series. But it's not like Gravity Falls where the truth is actively hidden, but more like people just don't talk about everything all the time, so the audience doesn't know 'cause no one brings it up. Felt more grounded in reality to me.
Thank your putting it into words 🤍
Literally! This Netflix "remake" just feels like a bullshit fanfiction trying to act like its better. I remember how the old show felt and this feels like a disgusting ripoff!
I cannot describe this show in any way other than *an absolute and total VIBE*
My only complaint is that in the original puppy cat being the prince was IMPLIED. Heavily implied but still implied. In the Netflix show it was just shoved in your face in like... the first episode...
It was a bit disappointing but I still really loved all that puppycat backstory stuff
in the original 2013 pilot, they actually also showed the fact that Puppycat was the Prince too at the ending of it.
I agree, even the pilot did it a lot more subtly and as a bit of a teaser towards the end. The Netflix version was so in your face it was corny
The first three episodes were catch up episodes for people who didn't see the RUclips show
Nah, I definitely remember the first version of the space outlaw song
Right, this show took forever to come out with new content. I remember loving it in HS and now I'm out of college with an adult career. 😭
Same. I was in elementary but I'm in college now
@@nellewoodruff6337 same😭
Me too
me too!! started middle school when i watched the pilot and now graduating high school in may, haven’t seen lazy in space until now
I really enjoyed the show and it’s weird awkward charm, and while I was pretty confused at times I still had pretty solid time, so it definitely came as surprise to me people had issues with it.
same
Same here. I just loved vibing along with the show.
Yes exatly
I loved that kind of humor but everyone else didint seem too think so
Same I like the Show alot tbh its Not perfect, but its fun
It boring, just people who like cute things and Shoujo things can deal with that
I genuinely love the fact that despite being bought by Netflix and now having a big company behind the project, Puppycat can still be voiced by a VOCALOID! Oliver gives him a special touch!
HES VOICED BY A VOCALOID?!
@@Im_voidy_lol Yeah, Oliver
Will never get over them removing Deckard’s crush on Bee, also didn’t he used to have a stutter? I miss that too ): Deckard was always my favourite character so it sucked to see him just, be gone, for 90% of the show
This makes me not want to watch the Netflix ver😢
I've been following this show for forever. Season 2 (lazy in space / netflix episode 4 onwards) was originally meant to be made for vrv but it went way over deadline and vrv dropped it. It was in limbo for a while as they tried to get someone to licence it but would release it if it wasn't picked up by a certain date (forgot the date) netflix picked it up and most likely asked for them to remake the first seasons quickly in the same style as season 2. Kinda greatful it didn't go to vrv, it's not available outside the US so I'd have no way to watch it legally
Yea, it was picked up by Netflix in 2020, a few months after it leaked onto vimeo i think.
yeah, people tend to forget that practically all of lazy in space was already finished by 2019, the first episode even premiered at Ottawa Animation Festival
I watched it i believe a year before the Netflix thing on Kim cartoon since it was stuck in limbo and I was desperate for the story
@@skellybelly6866 Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was on there because they discovered the leak haha
@@skellybelly6866a quarter of a year for me i gave up on the idea of it being on netflix i rewatched it on netflix too tho
i will cry if we don't get anymore seasons of the show. I loved it. such a soft melancholy vibe that i adored tbh. i just wonder how many people who don't watch with subtitles will miss out on Puppycat's translated volcaloid lines.
me too 😭but for the second part, i think that on netflix even if you turn off the subtitles it still automatically shows Puppycat's lines!!
Oh! So the leaked versions are not the same as the Netflix versions?
@@DS-nh4gu IIRC the episodes beyond the weird ones are pretty much exactly the same as leaked lazy in space but it’s been a while since ive seen the leaked eps so take that with a grain of salt
I miss this show, I use the "you took too long, now your candy's gone, that's what happened" on my kids all the time.
And the Bravest Warriors is excellent for catbug
Vrv was also an anime streaming service, you got crunchroll and American tv shows
Don't forget that when trying to figure out the father of the baby, all the guys in Deckard's family got sheepish and hid LOL
They all smashed 😂
I'm shocked nobody is mentioning contrapoints, voicing the sheep hand warlock. This show was a genuine joy. I fell in love with this show. I too need another season! I never saw the series anywhere before hand.
Whaaaa? No way that's so cool!
Yeeee. I was so excited to hear her and Frankjavcee guest on the show.
I think the core fan base who grew up watching the Bee and Puppycat episodes on RUclips found the transition from that to what Netflix offered very difficult
I can 100% relate to this.
I’ve rewatched the original pilot so much to the point when ik it line to line
But for the life of me I can’t get into the Netflix version yet!!
I miss Beeckard so much...I really didn't like how they made the whole "oh yeah Bee is ANCIENT" thing happen.
I kinda don't understand why they made her skinny for unless there was a very good reason for it
I LOVED THAT BEE WAS THIC ! BRING IT BACK
A show about the quarterlife crisis when you need to find your first job and become an adult? I would love to, but I am going in the opposite direction xD
I really enjoyed the original, it was so short and condensed, so then the remake came out it felt much longer.
The space outlaw being voiced by Steve Blum was perfect casting, intentional or otherwise.
I really want to see more of Puppycat's life from what we saw in the episode Funny Lying.
I could be misremembering but, that's what I heard from somebody else.
i remeber when it first came out gah i am old but i love to see this come to a full series over time and the change in the story
Im surprised you didnt talk about the fact that netflix added in bits that imply bee is *suuuper* old
I love the hell out of the fact that PuppyCat is voiced by the Vocaloid Oliver
I was shocked when Puppycat's human form was voiced by Steve Blum in the Netflix series.
I ain't gay, but if he asked, I'd say yes in a heartbeat.
My biggest flex is that I read the Original bee and puppy cat book series/web comic in 2nd grade because it was but on a school book thing
You are being parasocial, creators don't owe their creative vision to you
I have personally watched a whole bunch of shows that end of cliffhangers that never get resolved because they do not continue for one reason or another.
Bee and puppycat has some of my favorite voice acting work, idk why but it feels more natural than other animated shows
I really like the show. I'd watch it like four or five times. I want another season of this show.
My favorite quote was completely trashed 😔 "you took too long, now your candy's gone. That's what happens, bla bow" 😔
I remember Frederator from the Fairly Odd Parents credits too!
My vote was octopi, and eventually after bickering a bit the kid next to me slapped his textbook and interrupted us with "OBVIOUSLY, it's octopussy."
The argument promptly fizzled out as we all laughed way too hard.
"Federator, which you might know from the end of Adventure Time ..." Nope! I know them from Bravest Warriors, of all things! ("Titty twister ...")
Fun fact, puppycat is voiced by a vocaloid named Oliver!
no ones gonna read this but i almost cried on the last episode, i need more i also have so many emotions-I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS DAMNIT
Just an anecdote:
I watched this show when I was 15 or something in that area. And, OF COURSE, I didn't understand what this show was about and I was like "wait, is there even a sense or is it just random stuff throw here and there?"
Now I have an answer: I need to wait before rewatching it.
I actually recently looked into we love fine after finding some bags i got from them, they still sell merchandise just on another site. Its also mostly homestuck and rwby. They also run the merch site for valve games.
LoL. This show really IS good for playing in the background, cuz it has lofi beats and is pretty chill in the beginning.
You don’t question why, you just enjoy the ride and be thankful you got to witness any of it 😂
This is the prettiest, weirdest, most way out there show there is ... hope we get more! 🐶 🐱 🐝 💗
Notice that the blonde boxer lady is voiced by SAILOR MOON!
I found Bee and Puppycat on Netflix and didn’t find out about the original until recently and I’m so obsessed. I desperately want more 😭 also obsessed with the fact the VA for Toast is the VA for the Dic Sailor Moon dub
I actually never knew of the online series until after I finished the netflix version and wanted more. This show has become a comfort show for me.
I had this on my watchlist cause it looked interesting but you have single-handedly convinced me to watch it immediately
Oh boy. "what happened to bee and puppycat" is such a loaded question tree.
The kickstarter? The RUclips episodes? Vrv? The second season? The Netflix version?
Just gonna slide in with the fact of Puppycat being voice by the Vocaloid Oliver.
Oh my god I’m so glad you covered bapc
I’m a new fan and I’m mostly lost
I just felt high watching this show and just accepted it, I have never been high before
Still haven't watched the Netflix show even though I was obsessed with the RUclips one.
It's giving LETS MAKE IT FIT IN when it should stand out like it originally did
I loved watching Bee and Puppycat it was nice to come back from school and watch the episodes while drawing to relax :D
