Salvation cannot be lost just like a familial relationship cannot be lost because of the bloodline. The scriptures are clear that whom God chooses, His "elect", whose names were written in heaven before the foundation of the earth, whom Jesus said He would by no means lose (John 6:39) but would raise "all" up at the last day, cannot lose their salvation. Psalm 65: 4, "Blessed is the man whom YOU CHOOSE, and CAUSE to approach You, that HE MAY DWELL IN YOUR COURTS [meaning forever]..." Jer. 32:39, 40, "I WILL GIVE them one heart, and ONE WAY [Jesus is the WAY], that they may fear Me FOREVER...And I WILL MAKE an everlasting covenant [in Jesus' blood] with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I WILL PUT My fear in their hearts, that they SHALL NOT DEPART [Heb. "sur", apostatize] from Me."

Even Jesus Himself, spoke of names being blotted out of the Book of Life.
      Revelation 3:5 KJVS
[5] He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
OSAS is a false doctrine. We must overcome in order to have eternal salvation.
We must keep the faith. 1Jn 5:4
      We must obey Jesus.
      Hebrews 5:9 KJVS

@@roblane5699 You know, you can quibble with me all you want, because I'm nobody. I didn't write the scriptures. They speak for themselves. Corey explained your contention with the "blotting" out of the book of life very well from the Greek. But because you can't grasp it, you want to fight against anybody who agrees with it. Apparently, you fail to understand, that His "elect" DO obey Him, that's why they are called His "elect". Jesus said in Matt. 24:24, that only His "elect" will not be seduced to apostasy by the false teachers, which exactly aligns with the blatant teaching of Jer. 32:40, which I previously wrote about. Why can't they apostatize? Because Jesus Himself "KEEPS" them, just like He said of the 11 apostles in John 17:12, 13, "While I was with them in the world, I KEPT them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have KEPT; and NONE of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled." And in verse 11, He prayed, "Father, KEEP through Your name, those whom You have given Me..." Are you claiming that God cannot KEEP all that He gave Jesus before the foundation of the world? Jesus Himself said, "And I give them eternal life, and they shall NEVER perish (they will not depart from Him in this life nor in eternity to come. If He can't keep us now, what assurance have we that He can keep us from apostatizing like Satan in heaven throughout eternity? If can keep us from apostatizing in eternity, He can also keep us from apostatizing in this short life); neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand...(John 10:28, 29) Jesus also said, "ALL (each and every individual, not just whoever can make to the end) that the Father gives Me SHALL COME to Me (meaning, they cannot refuse to come); and him that comes to Me I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT (they cannot apostatize)." And He also said in John 6:44, "NO MAN CAN COME TO ME, EXCEPT THE FATHER DRAW HIM (only those whom God gave Jesus in the Lamb's book of life will come to Jesus); and I WILL (emphatically, without question) raise him up at the last day." And in John 6:39, Jesus said that of "ALL" that the Father had given Him, He would lose NOTHING (not a single one), but would raise them all up at the last day. Just as surely that the scripture was fulfilled about Judas, the above scriptures shall be fulfilled about His elect, that He will not lose even one. That, sir, is the full assurance of salvation. Why do you buck it? John put it this way, "Whosoever is born of God does not continue to practice sin; because God's seed *REMAINS* in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God" (1 John 3:9). And there are many other such scriptures. If you can't believe it, that's your problem. I hope you wake up to the very true reality of the "eternal" salvation (not just until we decide to apostatize) that He has given us. Once you do, you will appreciate Jesus more and the "so great" salvation that He has given you.
      Adios.

Christ, St Paul, and St John teach that we can lose our salvation by not persevering to the end. We must believe and love to the end. If we sin seriously (eg: murder) and do not repent we will lose our salvation. 2. Paul also taught that our faith must be accompanied by good works. We must believe, and we must love, in our response to the free gift of Grace. He condemns the Works of the Old Jewish Law in Romans, but both he and Christ say good works of the New Law are essential and that we will be judged by them. All this is not the Protestant heresy of Once Saved Always Saved, and it is not the Protestant heresy of Faith Alone: 1. We will lose our salvation if we do not persevere: “He who PERSEVERES unto the end will be saved.” (Matthew 10:22) St John writes, Let what you heard from the beginning ABIDE in you. If what you heard from the beginning ABIDE in you, then you will ABIDE in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he has promised us, eternal life (emphasis added).(1 John 2:24) 1. Cor. 10:12- “Therefore, let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed LEST HE FALL” In 1 Corinthians 1:18, St. Paul writes, “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are BEING saved-” notice that’s a present participle there, “being saved,” which indicates it’s a present state of salvation, an ongoing process. 1 Corinthians 4:3-4, where St. Paul himself says, “But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court; I do not even judge myself.” St. Paul is saying, “I’m not aware of any sort of sins that would take me away from God and destroy God’s life in my soul,” but he says, “I don’t even judge myself.” 1 Corinthians 9:26-27, St. Paul says "Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air; but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be DISQUALIFIED.“ 2. Good works of the New Law “‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven’” (Matt. 7:21). “For he will render every man according to his works . . .” (Rom. 2:6-8). “For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified” (Rom. 2:13).

Christians don't hate sin after they get saved, which is why ~God had to instruct saved believers on how to serve in a godly manner. Positionally all our sins are eternally paid for. What the bible means by this is that we cannot sin against God positionally because we are in Christ who has no sin. He has impute4d his perfect righteousness to our account forever. Rom 4:22-24, Heb 9:12, Heb 10:10-14 KJV
However, we can allow sin to reign in the flesh our allow sin to have the better of us in our Christian lives.
God chastens his beloved when we allow sin to reign to much, he'll use somebody or something to chasten us so we might learn our lesson and grow in grace.

To be exact, biblically speaking, no born again Christian sins by will or from his will. We still have sin 100%, no one is sinless, but the sin of a born again Christian comes from the flesh, not from the spirit or mind which is the will. You see this made very clear in Romans 7:13-25. "For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members." (Rom 7:22-23 KJV) The mind or spirit of a Christian is born again and does not want to sin, but the flesh brings the spirit into captivity, so that he will stumble and sin.

It's always been about belief alone. Abraham was accounted righteous by belief alone in what God said would come to pass years before he did any works. The way someone was saved before the cross was by looking forward in time and putting their belief alone in the coming promised messiah to be saved. Today, after the cross we look back 2000 years to the cross and to Jesus's our saviors shed blood for salvation. This is called the eternal or everlasting gospel. ZERO works or merit of our own is to be added to what Jesus said he finished.

How can someone rest in His perfect peace if they have to constantly worry about losing their salvation?
Heart breakingly I just found out that one of the pastors here on YT, that I've always trusted and learned a lot from, declared last week that the verse in Hebrews has to mean we can lose our salvation because he said he couldn't find any other way of figuring that passage out...my heart sank when i heard that from him... I hate this false premise of ‘You don’t think Christs sacrifice was enough’. We do. Just because we believe you can willingly reject Christ and his gift after being saved and go to Hell doesn’t negate His saving power at all. We believe God doesn’t force people into heaven against their will just because they believed and accepted Christ for a few years. We will always have a choice to reject God and suffer the consequences of doing so.

To my knowledge of Minor and Brown, Minor is a lordship salvationist and Brown is a pentecostal who advocates loss of salvation. What both theological beliefs combine is that we must persevere in faith and good works in order for us to get to glory. Lordshippers say if you do not then you were never saved to begin with, loss of salvation'ists say you are saved now but if you willfully go into sin and do not repent, then you will go to hellfire.
The issue is that not everything is about heaven and hell. I am with Onorato here that these folks in Hebrews 10 are real, ACTUAL christians but they despised Jesus's blood by legalism and self-righteousness. That is why the previous verses talk about animal sacrifices. The same is talked about with Galatians in chapters 3-5. They were saved by grace, through faith in Christ Jesus alone yet they went under legalism. They, for one, added circumcision(Galatians 5) to the Gospel. Paul, by Holy Spirit, instructed them not to do so, and only focus on Christ Jesus and now live in Him by His Spirit, not by self-righteousness in the flesh.
So, I also believe one cannot lose his salvatiom but Hebrews 10 is talking abiut believers going to self-righteousness and if those believers do not repent then God is going to give them severe discipline, even death in some cases. At the end of the day Jesus is our righteousness and He is our hope of glory, And His is the glory, praise ans honor for saving us, and we should live for God, not in sin, and honor Jesus and not try to get into some self-righteous pride, thinking our works of any kind, good as in adding to the Gospel or lack of sin as in we are better of because we do not sin here or there, that they'd add something to our salvation. Jesus is all in all.
Also, could y'all say a prayer for me? I have some sort of a depression still, my mind ain't so right. Just down, weary and tired mentally. Also, I'd need to find a local church to fellowship. I have been looking for one but so far not one particular has showed itself to be good. There are calvinists, liberal mainstream lutheranism and other extreme charismatics I wanna stay away from. Not convinced of OSAS at all. To be considered “Adversaries” of God and yet still saved is just dumb. The whole ‘Gods just going to severely chastise you’ is no where indicated in the text when Paul compares the death penalty of Moses law to insulting the spirit of grace; in fact the consequences of insulting the spirit of grace is of MUCH worse punishment than a traditional death penalty. How can God chastise a person worse than that? That’s why Paul says we must have endurance, for we can still be sent to hell if we don’t endure until the end.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
The will of God is to believe. John 6:40
You see these hebrew believers had no patience and were becoming faithless. They feel the need to do something for the forgiveness of their sins. They were not confident anymore that they felt they needed to sacrifice bulls and goats. Just like people today they feel like they need to do works. You don't do anything for the salvation. Do works only because you are saved.
And finally, the promise mentioned in Hebrews 10:36 is not eternal life but rewards. Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. Remember salvation is free gift not a reward.

So many times we are told “those who endure until the end shall be saved.” So why must we have endurance/patience to obtain salvation when we have passed on from death into life by the hearing of faith? The only option I see is that it is possible for devout believers to fall away completely from God. There’s a reason why we are warned to not be deceived.

Logic proves eternal security. As a matter of fact, losing a salvation position is logically self-defeating, so it must be wrong a priori, and it needs to be thrown away.
Here is an example....If someone says to you that you have(right now you are in possession of eternal HEALTH for example, there is no scenario in which you can get sick anymore. If you get sick, it wasn’t eternal health in the first place. We have two potential positions:
    1. If you have got eternal health, you cannot lose it, and you will always have it
    2. Or you never even had it.
The position of losing it is logically impossible and self-contradictory.

    • @ThomasJones77
      @ThomasJones77 Год назад

Your analogy assumes that the "eternal health" and possession of the "eternal health" are the same or inseparable.
However, the benefit of eternal health is derived from possession. Thus, it doesn't logically follow that the possession cannot be lost. Eternal health and posession of it are distinct.
The eternal health applies only to those in possession of it. If possession is lost, the derived eternal health itself is unaffected, but since it's no longer in possession, then the eternal benefit is no longer applied.
So, if one has eternal health right now, the eternality of it is still rooted in possession. *If one has an "eternal stone" right now, it doesn't mean that, logically, they will always be in possession of that "eternal stone" simply because the stone is eternal.*

    • @vinkosusac1130
      @vinkosusac1130 Год назад

@@ThomasJones77 If someone has an eternal stone, it really can be a case that tomorrow he doesn’t have it anymore.
Because stone is eternal, you and stone are 2 separate things, you just have it right beside you, its quality doesn’t transfer to you at all!
But….If we already have eternal life, that’s not something that we have in our backpack or right beside us. We already have it inside of us.
Our eternal life is part of us now. Its quality already transferred to us!
We have already passed from death to life! 1 John 3:14.
This’s why your analogy is not valid here!
We have only 2 logical options, but you are advocating for a third, which is not logical and it's self-defeating:
      1. If we already have life that never ends, if tomorrow can end it, it was never EVERLASTING life(life that never ends)- in that case Jesus lied! (John 5:24)
      2. If we ALREADY HAVE EVERLASTING life(or life that never ends), it cannot be a case that life can possibly end.
      3. We already have everlasting life, or life which never ends, until the moment it ends?!
You have a self-defeating position here, which leads to logical contradiction.
      To sum up…
Although it’s true that we could lose some eternal things such as diamonds or stones(although they are not eternal- which is the whole another story by itself), it doesn’t logically follow that everything that’s eternal can be lost. What is true for some,it’s not true for all.

    • @ThomasJones77
      @ThomasJones77 Год назад

@@vinkosusac1130 @vinkosusac1130 Thanks for the great reply! However, you still assume, in this case with "eternal life," that eternal life itself and possessing eternal life are the same thing logically.
It doesn't logically follow that having eternal life now means you must remain in possession of that life otherwise you never had possession of it. Why? Because the eternality applied is still rooted in possession, and only as long as you have possession will you have eternal life.
*Obviously, if God says one will have eternal life then he will obtain eternal life and never lose possession of it. Period. But that adds in a 3rd option to secure possession, whereas your analogy assumed eternal possession based on the derived benefit alone instead of the One who can secure the possession for us so that we can ultimately receive the goal/telos of our faith: the salvation of our souls (1 Peter 1:9)*
Nevertheless, Scripturally, we get both assurance and warning as believers. Both sides of the debate draw hard lines to try and prevent some *perceived* logical contradiction that Scripture isn't concerned about. Thus, both sides usually assume their position too much into certain passages, unable to release certain presuppositions to simply let the inspired, God-Breathed Text speak.
Saying the one sanctified who has trampled...that faces fiery judgement and being consumed is just "divine chastisement" is one example on that side.

I forgot continue in the faith. If all those scriptures are for the lost then where's the scriptures for the saved? How can you Equip the Saints when basically the New Testament was just written for sinners? Why say faith without works is dead? Why say without faith it is impossible to please God ? Why tell Saints not to even set down and eat with a sinner who says that he's a brother? Wouldn't that be ridiculous? People what most once saved always saved people try to convince their followers of is this . You have to do what ever the Spirit tells you,but you want stop sinning ? You can never be told no by God because Christ paid for it at the cross. People Christ work is finished. Not ours . Let ever man work out his own soul Salvation with fear and trembling. That's our personal relationship with Him ,not self-righteousness, but It's our continue faith and trust in Him no matter what. Lastly again. Why have scriptures of don't do,and if you don't, and many more if there is no consequences to your actions ? Ask yourself this question. Christ work is done . It is the term sanctified that draws confusion, and it is this term that is used (in this verse) by those who believe a person can lose their salvation. But the question is, can an unbeliever be sanctified? The answer is, yes, they can. There is sanctification by association, which Paul described with married couples. The unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife and vice versa. So, in the Hebrews passage, all Israel, as the chosen people of God, have been set apart (sanctified) by the blood of Jesus. The writer was speaking to those who hear this knowledge (the gospel) and ultimately reject it.

Corey Minor seems to be treating warnings as theoretical impossibilities. So what is the point of the warnings? Especially if they're to those who are not and will not be Christians? But I think this issue has become a bit of a mess because some of the terminology/theology is not precise enough nor open minded enough so it results in some verses seeming either for or against.

Hebrews 10:29 is the walking away from the truth you once knew that Jesus Christ is the ONLY WAY to Salvation who is fully sufficient not adding any of our good deeds, works, our sufferings like purgatory, having the gifts of the Spirit of casting out demons, prophesying in His name, etc. Apostle Paul warned us NOT to mix the Law and Grace because then salvation becomes uneffective.

  • @Nighhhts

If you can lose your salvation as a believer, you’re essentially saying the sin or sins you committed as a believer can overthrow what Christ did on the cross, which was, you know, DIE FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD, THEREBY DEFEATING *SIN AND DEATH!*
If Christ defeated sin and death, and you are saved by believing in Him, which means you are covered by His blood, gain His righteousness, and are justified in the eyes of the Father, how can your sins cause you lose your salvation? By you saying that, you’re saying that sin is more powerful than what Christ did and that Christ’s death was insufficient and therefore in vain. Jesus Christ already defeated ALL sin and death itself, therefore not amount of sins a believer commits can cause him to lose His salvation. If you sin as a believer, your life will be hell and you won’t gain rewards in heaven, meaning sin still equals a lose, just not a loss of salvation.

Hebrews 10 is all about what CHRIST DID on the cross. Those Hebrews had heard the gospel of Christ yet were going BACK to the old levitical laws and they were sacrificing animals still, therefore they didn’t truly BELIEVE in what CHRIST DID. Hebrews 10:26

Here's a nugget to consider. If you sin in your thoughts, such as lust after a woman, you've committed adultery. Being angry with a brother or sister brings you under judgement according to scriptures. The overall point of the matter is, you better hope your sins don't negate your salvation, because everyone does these things.

Acts16:31* I like this vs. so much because it is so explicit in it's message... I will attempt to break it down in regard to it's verbs..from the original Greek text...The vs. says ,Believe on the lord Jesus Christ ,and thou shalt be saved....Believe is the main verb...it is a aorist active ,imperative of the greek verb Pistos ,to believe. The aorist tense is a point of time that you believe. This is a special aorist tense that takes this point of time and perpetuates it into infinity..The active voice ,the subject ,produces the action of the verb, you believe. The imperative mood is a command. Saved is sozo, a perfect passive participle .A participle is an auxiliary verb that supports the main verb..The perfect tense show a completed action. The passive voice unlike the active voice ,says the subject (the one believing in Christ)receives the action of the verb rather than producing this action...In this case he receives salvation. So based on the original text The vs.is more accurately translated. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and at that moment ,you are saved for ever and ever..
    * Notice repentance is not mention because a spiritual dead person is not capable of doing anything to save himself.

So, The Written Word clearly talking about the sacrificing of animal blood for the covering of sin which could NEVER take away sin... So there remains no more sacrifice for sins, except for the Perfect, Holy, ONLY, one time sacrifice of the Blood of the Lamb of God, that came to take away sins!
And, if Jack Styles was correct, Jesus's Blood (He Who IS THE High Priest FOREVER under the order of Melchizedek) never touch the earth, but instead was sprinkled on The Mercy Seat, just as the foreshadowing of the high priests who did it on the ark of the covenant beforehand!

The Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for ALL the World's sin, 2 Corinthians 5 19-21kjv. He shed his blood on the Cross for our redemption and for the forgiveness of sins, Ephesians 1 7kjv. All you have to do is believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the 3rd day and you will be saved, 1 Corinthians 15 1-4kjv. You will then be sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise, Ephesians 1 13-14kjv. Both Jew and Greek (Gentile) are saved by this Gospel, Romans 1 16kjv, and we refer to Romans to Philemon for our salvation. Ephesians 2 8-9kjv teaches no works for salvation. Please look up rightly dividing the Word of Truth, 2 Timothy 2 15 kjv.

Y’all acting like you can’t throw away a gift someone gives you, or misuse it, or neglect it, or never unwrap it, or sell it, or deny it, or modify it, etc. etc.
When passages in the Word speak to both, it is safe to assume the more dangerous possibility so that you may be prepared either way. If all works is work of the flesh and there is never a way to lose your salvation, then you will be good in the end even if you act as if a form of works sanctifies you, and if there is a difference between works of the flesh and works of the Spirit that God has prepared beforehand and we are commanded to OBEY God’s will, and by not doing so we do jeopardize our salvation, than I’d rather act as if just in case that’s true. The reality is we will only find out FOR SURE when we go before His throne and all of our own understanding is confronted, and idk about y’all but I’d rather be safe than sorry. the Bible says our heart is desperately wicked and deceitful above all else, it makes sense that we could convince ourselves of not losing our salvation only to find out we are wrong when it’s too late and I don’t want to find out the hard way. The interpretation of scripture to mean “once saved always saved” I have always witnessed to be of dissection rather than supernatural revelation and confirmation by the Holy Spirit, so again, let’s be safe rather than sorry 🙏

And because of that knowledge of his love for us we want and try to live better or righteously because of it.. you are saved for eternity otherwise go and join any religion to make yourself right with God. Good luck with that. Because being saved eternally and knowing your saved is what makes us different from the rest..Anything else is righteousness by works of the law. The truth is after we are saved, we can still wander from the faith and suffer death in hell. James 5 tells us
“19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,
20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”
I pray God will guide your words and that your friend will listen and repent from his error. It may take 5 or more years till your words have any noticeable effect, but plant the seeds and let God give the increase. My own brother was like your friend, and it took 5 years until he called me and told me I was right about God and changed his life heavily for our Lord. Have patience brother and keep doing Gods will and increasing the knowledge of God so your prepared for anything. With much love Godbless!
