My dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma grade 4 at the end of February. He had brain surgery on march 2nd and he started radiation/chemotherapy he is on his 5th week, he has 1 week and a half left of it. And although 97% of it was removed we still gotta wait but doctors are not giving us alot of time. Our life has changed and to see our dad in pain and not being able to move half of his body and just how everything happened and with the whole coronavirus going on it's even more scary just because he cant get sick in any way. He is supposed to have a 4week break and I am praying that on his next ct scan it's clear and that he doesn't have to do 6 months of chemotherapy..he looks weak he started loosing his hair..he cant eat much because he throws up everything......I wish you guys well and stay positive and hope that they find a cure soon. Let's not lose hope, may god bless everyone.
You are beautiful people and so deserve good news and to feel well. I have a spouse who is paralyzed and no speech..every day is a struggle and any day that goes smoothly is truly a good day and the enjoyment of everyday things like nice food and a good movie are the best aren't they- love to you from NZ
My mum was diagnosed Christmas Eve with a grade 4 glioblastoma they operated Boxing Day didn’t manage to remove it all she has had 3 weeks of chemo & radiotherapy but because of this virus they have said it is to dangerous to have any more treatment as their is nothing they can do any way so that is it I’m so angry this virus has just taken away her chance of us getting longer with her I just found your page and have fought up on your journey and hoping I get some time with my mum yet ❤️
Your most recent posted video is closed to comments. I wanted you to know I am praying for your family. My husband was diagnosed January 9, 2020 with GBM grade 4. Not sure what our future looks like. He did have surgery with the same results that you mentioned.(99%) But now he has started to have headaches. He is scheduled for an MRI next week. He like you has not wanted to give up driving. He was told to after diagnosis. I am just praying the MRI next week comes back clean. GBM is so brutal. He has lost a little weight, but not more than 15 pounds at most. He still has good energy on most days. He is currently doing 5 days per month on chemo. One of his Oncologist said WHEN a new tumor comes she would refer us to Duke. However, I do know of another long time survivor who went to NHI in Bethesda. He is 5 or more years out. His initial surgery was in Oregon and then a 2nd surgery at MD Anderson in Texas. I am thinking we will request to be referred to NHI when there needs to be another surgical consult. We are in Florida. But we have family in the Baltimore area. I am praying that you guys get some good news. And Brandon, don't worry about the kids and school. I am pretty sure the kids along with Carrie wouldn't want to trade any time with you for anything else. They can always do virtual school. Heck with Covid being what it is, virtual school might be safer for the kids. Good Luck and God Bless.
Happy for you! I’m 5 months into widowhood now after my husband lost his battle to GBM. The kids and I try to manage the best we can and we are fine. I get sad from time to time, that’s normal I guess.
God bless you and your family I wanted to post on your latest video but comments are disabled ! Continual prayers for you all and please keep us updated
Thank you for the update and the positive encouraging news about your health. Please check with your neurologist about low/no fat diet...certain types and amounts of fat are important and protective with regards to brain health. Well, that's what I've been told.☺ Sending prayers your way.
Referring to the latest video your Oncologist should not have taken GBM for granted as its tentacles advance. My stepdad had GBM and my oldest brother had stage 4 esophageal adenocarcinoma. I am currently a medical student for either Trauma or Oncology and have already studied far in advance. I’m surprised by your oncologist too as you two are. Extra prayer for now on.
Hi brandon, my nsme is Ahmad and i m 43 yrs old now. Unfortunately, i have been diagnosed with GBM in march 2018 and undergone brain surgery and chemo with proton therapy radiation for 6 weeks. I completed radiation thrrapy in 06/2018. My tumor was secondarily ptogressive as per my neurosx. That was based on the anLysis performed on my biopsy specimen that showed some very favorable mutations that rendered it more susceptible to radiation and or chemo. That, fortunately enough happened in my case as proton therapy/ Radiation with chemo able to liquify most of the tumor as promised by my neurosx
It collected in one pocket of the frontal lobe that was easy to remove and he was able to remove about 80% of it. But unforunately, i had regrowth of the tumor after resection abd required surgery abd attempt at removal i also developed seizures and required anti sz meds. I was started on second line meds including chemo with immune therapy (avastin). That fortunatly worked nice well for me over the last year and a half. i had good response and last mri was last week and oncology follow up was encouraging as 4 montha after stopping chemo, there is no tumor prigression and my oncologist is happy with the current scenario. Along with seizures i had left arm and leg weakness and sensation changes that are sliwly better with therapy. Best part about your story thstbi liked is that you guys are very brave and pisitive with great faith in Almighty (Allah) in our language. Its rhe best part and another similarity in our case a gem of a life partner who has been so brave and couragous all the way through
