It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who experience this reaction.

As a mother whose son was diagnosed June 2018. I find your story very informative. This dx is one that took my breath away when we heard it for the first time. But thanks to stories like yours it helps knowing others are surviving and being strong. As with you Brandon my son Daniel has great faith. God will not put on us more than we can take. My heart felt prayers for u and your family through this journey. Daniel had his tumor removed August 26, 2019. He is still having headaches often. Hats off to you brave people who have brain surgery. I am an RN and I do t think I would be so brave. Prayers and more prayers for you and all others who have and will have this diagnosis.

How is your son doing now? My brother was diagnosed with GBM on April 24, 2022. He underwent a craniotomy, resection and debulking of a 3.2 x 2.4 cm tumor on his left frontal lobe. The prognosis is very grim and it looks as though he will be transitioning into palliative and Hospice care.
I pray 🙏🏻 your boy is still fighting this horrific illness. 💖✨💫

I hope that they did let you just be done with low dose chemo and radiation since you were just a couple days behind. Looking forward to the next video for update! Also encouraging me to do another update of my own because its been awhile since I've done mine :-D May God see you through this transition from 6 weeks of radiation/low dose chemo to 5/23 6-12 months of high dose chemo!

They really do increase your dose when you switch over - you're on 75% right now - mine was 120mg. Then they increase your chemo dose to 200% - mine was 340mg. It was too much for me my first month on 5/23, but it is also possible I had a virus. My BP dropped to like 80/53 though! My side effects were so bad that I was asked to come in as soon as I shared - which I just blew off as related to the 5 days and it was still there a couple days later. So last dose always on a Monday, and it was a Thursday they brought me and checked me out and I got a blast of IV fluids! They then decreased me to 125% - for me was 200mg. I had absolutely no side effects whatsoever so we built me back up. Last night finished month 5 of 5/23 and I was taking the higher dose (340mg) again. This is based on your size and I'm about 5'5 127 lbs, so your dose would be higher in general. I would consider different medications you can take for side effects because they do exist and it isn't worth feeling what you feel just to keep the pills down. I tried that and actually felt like I have cancer - ironic I know. They are trained to help us though. You can also just try to do a short time and see again. I am set to do just 6 months, and so I'm almost done! Plus each time I felt bad I remind myself that I then knew what to avoid and how to respond so it doesn't happen again. You can do it Brandon! Can't wait to hear about follow up MRI! Also I wouldn't feel bad about being stuck on Keppra or another anti-seizure/anti-epilepsy med because most with any type of tumor have that med every day for the rest of their life for prevention. I take 2000mg twice a day and before this you would never see me swallow anything like that. I truly believe that you will make it through!

Some of what you have been experiencing...makes me wish you had some of the same doctors my daughter has...just what you are talking about this time...they were way ahead of this and gave her preventive med so this would not happen. Prayers for you and continue to follow you

Again a thank you for update! I will stand in agreement with you for those platelets to come back up. Unfortunately that is something that does happen for some folks undergoing treatment. As you were speaking of your hair, all I could think of was PLEASE...no haircuts n such right now. You needn't nick yourself trying to use scissors or razors!!! You look good like Carrie said. You two are quite the team and continue to inspire!! Prayers for the two of you, your children and family, as well as for the team that is orchestrating your care. God bless you and keep you. And Happy Birthday in advance!! May you be blessed with many, many more years!

Pray for your speedy recovery, My mother had this same cancer. The only piece of advice I could give you is to educate yourself on what clinical trials are available. There are places in the US that more specialize in this type of cancer.
