There are some great RUclips videos that describe how DEF works and it helps reduce ozone. It benefits the health of everyone when we breath cleaner air.
Doesn't do a darn thing to the ozone layer. The particulate filter is there to reduce unburned carbon from going out the tail pipes, which is the black smoke seen on pre DPF engines. If you truly want cleaner air start talking about China and India. They contribute about 80% of the world's air pollution.
@@curttundra You just proved that you don’t know anything about it, at all. It’s not about the ozone layer. Diesel engines produce nitrogen oxides and it’s the DEF system that reduces these oxides. These oxides are converted to ozone through UV light. Ozone is not good for you or me to breath. Just do some reading.
DPF systems are for large particulates. They are still released into the environment when the filters are cleaned out, all at once rather than a little at a time. And they don't tell you how much more fuel is burned transporting DEF around the country, not to mention vehicles and parts for DPF repairs like in this video. To top it off, DEF containers that are sold in bottles at stores are disposed when empty, creating more paper and plastic waste in the environment. just like rhe oil fields, pressure blows pipes
That DEF system is the worst system them ever designed. I’m a Semi Truck driver and I’m on the side of the road more for def issues then anything else 🤦♂️
Untold number of trucks that have burned to the ground because of it
This is what happens when unelected government bureaucrats in a three letter agency think they know better than truckers, mechanics and manufacturers
IMay be common but a customer pays $2 million not to be inconvienced im sure.
It's not def that's the issue, it's which def that's the issue. I think your issue came after you filled up at love's. Never put that stuff in the rig. Not even in a pinch I've seen cheap def take out jeeps range rovers etc etc.
Where is Shay.
Great coach, great video, but where is the girlfriend?
$2m newell coach"s to mo vlogs house
could hear better in the newell
DEF has ruined the diesel engine.
Nice
The thumbnail looks like a tow truck.
You can always tell who isn’t an angry, hyper-partisan political a-hole. If you find yourself angry over Harris being called a Communist or Trump being called a Fascist, head over to Andrew Steele to watch a cool RV video.
Its cool that Andrew is showing one of the negatives that comes with owning an RV. Be prepared to have a love-hate relationship.
Hopefully with the supreme court and next administration, these three letter unelected govt agencies will be watered down so that DEF or electric motorhomes can stay in california somewhere while the rest of us have unrestricted diesel pushers like the old days
@@nomadbiker4040 I don’t know enough about DEF to comment but I did notice you slipped in some partisan politics 😒
@319jmp how is freedom from unelected bureaucrats being a partisan? I think both of the mainstream political parties stink by the way
How can you possibly be an intelligent informed person if you don't watch the news? In this case I do not believe that ignorance is bliss!
THE NEWS SUCKS---but NOT thinking or doing nothing about politics is why the country is where it is.
Reality and perception are seldom correct.
ANdrew, you're slipping into sales guy sleezo.
First, no Newell or Prevost to FeatherLight is 'priced to sell'. C'mon bro. Know what I do for my clients? Train them on the science of selling their buyers luxury. I will heave this with you. "don't treat a princess like your backyard pig."
Andrew you’re correct but if you stay uninformed and think things will be what they are … your industry runs off a great economy and the economy is doing poorly and continues that way people will not be buying these 1-2 million coaches so electing the best people to run our government is very important..
Amen on spending less time thinking about politics the better! Get out and travel, meet people, talk about ideas, critically think, and produce content. The good life.

Ignorance about politics is like taking the vax.
Out of respect my hind quarters. If I had the privilege you had to drive these I am taking advantage of it. The future owners I am sure won't mind if you crash in the bed. Save that hotel money for something else.
Andrew Hands on the wheel at all times. Please!!!
