Yes, our English Bulldog Freddie passed in April of 2019. I still miss him and think of him often. We’ve had many, many dogs over the years, all of them precious. Freddie made me laugh all the time and seemed to relish in getting me to laugh, like he laughed with me. He was such a joy and we were together for 10 years. Today I wouldn’t have a bulldog like him again because I don’t think they should continue to breed them. Their breathing and health issue are just too taxing for an animal, an animal shouldn’t have to endure those kinds of problems. Freddie certainly made the most of his time with us but in the end it was really difficult as the health issues became intense and we had to let him go. Bless Freddie, such a character❣️

He kinda looks like my aunt's old bulldog, though hers was female and a bit taller and had a more "Athletic" build (Or at least as athletic as an english bulldog can get). But she could actually swim for short periods of time in shallow water, her legs and neck were just long enough to keep her head above water as she paddled. And not only that, but she lived to be 15 years old, most likely due to my aunt keeping her on a good diet and giving her daily exercise so she didn't get obese or develop heart issues.

Wrong. There are several types of bulldog. The abbreviation Bulldog is used for English bulldogs as they are generally recognized as the modern basis for the others. AKC is just the most well known dog organization in the pet community they are not arbitrators of species and they do not recognize any other branch of bulldogs, which is why to them there is only English bulldogs.
