The Milwaukee 3/8 stubby has been in my tool box since I first began a few years ago. The thing is practically indestructible and it's worth it's weight in gold.
Just a home diy/hobbyist. Got the stubby and recently the high torque High torque is for Axel nuts, suspension ans engine mounts. Great go too in addition to the 3/8" stubby thay does everything else. Agree with u sir. If I was doing this for a living I would use the mid torque over the high torque too given its light weight abs rely on an air gun when doing Axel nuts crank bolts etc
Milwaukee is hard to beat if bought on sale at the Home Despot. An extensive platform when bought on sale offers a lot of power/features for your money.
I was visiting atlanta recently and was driving around when I suddenly recognized the big matco box with those colors and i realized it was this shop. Anthem automotive on piedmont rd haha
This was just what i needed. i dont have an air compressor and i already own and love the stubby. But i'm now looking for a mid or high torque and i will def. be getting the high torque. Just that 1% of the time the Mid might not be enough, I would wish i got the high torque instead, and i will def. still be using the stubby 90% of the time anyway, so handy.
LOVE my 1/2 stubby m12. Can do 80% of everything I throw at it. I have the high torque but only used it a few times, plus I use torque sticks so air is ideal
Great advice. I have all but the compact and those 3 take care of everything. The stubby is my go to though. It will do my lug nuts too. All great tools and each has its place. Thanks for sharing!
For the high torque one, which I have, I down graded the battery to a smaller one due to the weight. Since I ama DIY I don't need it to run 8 hours a day, so smaller battery helps. Still rips through bolts and nuta but it take a bit of the weight. Gives it more top balance and less weight on the wrist.
I love Milwaukee to death. But the more and more I use my 3/8 M12 stubby, the more I want to upgrade to the M18 3/8 compact. Power has been an issue, mainly with brake caliper bracket bolts. And also keeping the batteries to actually stay in the tool when impacting something has become annoying.
I have the 1 inch angle which I use primarily just to take the wheels on and off of my semi truck, but found myself needing another impact for engine work on it not sure if I should go for the mid torque or the high torque. Do you have any recommendations?
Everyone thought I was foolish buying the 1/2 anvil Mid-Torque over the high torque. More portable for junkyard and race track duties, more than enough power for most jobs. A hell of a lot easier on my wrists too. Whatever the Mid torque can't handle is either supplemented with the fire wrench or a 1/2 pneumatic gun. Between the mid-torque and the 3/8 stubby I have not found a niche that justifies the cost of the other tools yet.
Just picked up the 3/8 stubby yesterday. Honestly kinda useless. Thing is pretty much gutless. Couldn't even take a rotor screw out this morning. Grabbed my 3/8 stubby air impact and it came right out. Just use it for small under hood work. I've used my coworkers high and mid torque just playing around at times and didnt like them. Honestly, it's not for me. I'll keep dragging the air hose around haha that's just me though.
I’m going to be a service driver for triple a, would you recommend getting the mid torque basically just for lug nuts But I’m just unsure on bigger cars
I’m not a fan of the mid torque. Maybe I got a dud from the factory, but man that thing can’t do any more than my stubby and I find that a big disappointment. Like I said, maybe I got a dud.
the m12 stubby honestly has been underwhelming since i got it when it comes to power. also its an m12 and the batteries are straight garbage when it comes to design and staying in the tool. i love the m18 milwaukee stuff i have, the high and mid torques. im switching all my m12 power tools to snap on brushless and it simply because the battery issue.

Great to hear feedback from someone who has used them *ALL* on the job. Thanks for the advice!
Just what I needed to hear! Thanks man👍
That was very helpful. I got plenty of big air tools, Snappy and IR, got to cut the cord.
I bought the 3/8 stubby m12 on your recommendation & Love it.
Just a home diy/hobbyist. Got the stubby and recently the high torque
High torque is for Axel nuts, suspension ans engine mounts. Great go too in addition to the 3/8" stubby thay does everything else.

Flat Rate Master.. I'm still trying to decide what brand to go with but I definitely need to upgrade for sure...

My son has the high torque, it is a beast. But it’s kinda big & heavy.
I have the mid torque, it’s a nice impact. Love it !
Will I see you in Milwaukee in A couple of weeks?
Yep

_No protective boots?_ 🥺🥺

@Sid The sloth I meant the mid-torque, got confused between the two. I believe the M12 stubby and M18 compact are the same foot pounds.
@Sid The sloth My battery issues are with the M12 line.
if you've got the space, put a 1/2 socket on it. That extra mass helps break shit loose.
I have all four too. I totally agree mid-torque and stubby are the way to go.

The 3/8 stubby can remove cat 3406 head bolts

I grab my 3/8 stubby for everything. Even stuff I know it won’t take off, but I still gotta try!! 😂
I work at a shop, half the time the mid torq can't break loose lugnuts. don't know if mine is defective but oh well.
That’s just lube techs using their 1/2 Milwaukee. The tool is fine.
The stubby and high torque are all I need holy shit is the stubby useful it takes lug nuts everything off
DIY, early tire rotations at home, is the Compact sufficient?
helpful video

.....do you prefer with friction ring or pin detent, and why????
Which one do y’all recommend for brake jobs?
I would like to see a 1/4 drive with a variable clutch in a electric impact.
Milwaukee has a m12 1/4 with an auto stop setting
I’m going to be a service driver for triple a, would you recommend getting the mid torque basically just for lug nuts But I’m just unsure on bigger cars
Mid torque is absolutely more than enough to take off lugs
Thanks.

i hate Milwaukee batteries that's why I use air more with all the compact stuff these days
My Ridgid high torque has my 9ah battery. Thing pulls down my pants if I use the belt hook 🤣
oh like my air impact it's a bolt breaker it eats exhaust studs for breakfast
Completely agree

Same issues with the 14.4 snap on tools to sadly :/
Weird. My stubby battery actually takes quite a bit of force to take the battery off. Not loose at all.
Um..... you need them all!!!??
If your dealing with rust you need the high torque, stubby is a beast for smaller stuff and for a mid torque you gotta get the new DeWalt! 👍
👉I HAVEN'T BIT THE BULLET ON MILWAUKEE YET🤫IM STILL STUCK ON INGERSOLL RAND👌‼️
