Yippee, I, a definite beginner, made this flower. some parts are a little wonkey but I figured it out and it got better as I got to the second and third petals. I kept telling my husband not to talk to me. A nine year old neighbor is learning also and has got me interested and motivated again. So I had to go back and start learning basics all over again. It is so great and you are so sweet. Thanks for the help.
I'm just so a begginer in this crochet art, I don't speak english as a first language, I'm left handed, but I've been able to craft a lot of flowers following your instruccions step by step, playing and pausing the video over and over. Then just for mere curiosity after a long time using this video went to read the comments and found all this people complaining about a single freaking stitch. Is insane. Girl mom of five your flower is the best, your instruccions are amizingly easy to follow and thanks a million times to teach me so well darling. Don't read these wackos singlestitchistits.
It bothers me that people keep talking about how bad this tutorial is, it's a great tutorial!! It was able to successfully crochet this and I'm glad she made the video:) so thank you!!
Thank you for the video! I am not an experienced crocheter but I made a headband and a flower today for my baby girl and am so proud of myself! I love it!
Thank you for taking the time to help us by putting together the video. Your crocheted flowers came out beautifully! I am a visual learner, so I find videos to be much more helpful than trying to read through a set of directions. Watching you complete this flower has been extremely helpful!
I read the comments before I started, so I didn't find the variation on a sc confusing. Made a very pretty flower for the baby hat I had just finished. Thanks for taking the time to post the video. Good job!
Everything is confusing when you are learning. I hit that rewind button about 30 times and my work looked crazy but as I went along it got better and I was able to tell what I was doing wrong and it got smoother. I was rewinding on every 4 words (LOL). I am so proud of my flower that i was showing my husband every petal.
I'm new to crochet and I had to tell you these flowers where amazing to make and your instructions where so easy to follow!!! I've made 5 so far!!!! Thank you!!!!! X
Oh my gosh! I love this! I have always made super easy things because I got bored one day as a kid and taught myself how to crochet, but yesterday I began watching videos determined to make some stuff for the holidays this year. I made a successful beanie, beret, daisy and this was, by far, the EASIEST to understand of all of the videos I watched! THANK YOU!!!
I watched all 3 parts of your tutorial this morning and found it great, in fact I then a crocheted a flower to go onto to the top of a beret I've just knitted for my grand-daughter, embellished it with a few pearls in the centre and a pin clip on back, this way it can be fastened onto the duffel coat I've knitted to go with the hat. It just a great flower, so simple but so classy looking.
I just started learning how to crochet this morning, and I made one of these flowers as my first project easily! Thanks for the easy-to-follow tutorial!
This is a beautiful tutorial. Very clear, every last stitch! is demonstrated, and the music adds the finishing touch. I needed to think of first pulling up a loop through the "hole" and then working the single crochet in it, yarn over for the double crochet, pull up a loop through the hole and work the double crochet, etc. Made a very respectable rosette. Thank you, epicabundance!
I loved the flower. This was the first flower I made that had a professional look to it. Your instructions are super clear and easy to follow. The pattern itself is real easy as well. Thank u.
Wow... Im so tired of negative people I love these flowers and I think she did a great job on this video!!! There is always those few people that try to bring you down...
Making a chemo hat for a friend and I needed a flower. Yours was the third video I watched; the first two were so confusing. I understood your directions perfectly and my first one turned out great. The center opening was kind of large but I had planned on sewing a button in the middle, anyway. It is perfect.
Using youtube i am teaching myself to crohet. Your instructional videos have been my favourites thus far - least confusing, easiest to follow and a joy to follow along with. I was almost ready to give up out of frustration but you have put the joy back in the craft for me. With many thanks and my warmest regards, I will be continuing to crochet along side you : ) M from Oz xo
Thank you. Its very kind and selfless of you to give this tutorial. You took the time and trouble to teach others that you didn't even know. I really appreciate it. May Allah bless you.
this tutorial was my first try in crochet & i did it , & i was so happy & proud with the result for me as a crochet beginner , your way in teaching & your voice is wonderful too !! thank you so much.
I am such a visual learner. Your thumb was in the way, although that is how you control the string. It was easy to do and I have made one and am proud to have done it! Thank you!
Thank you for the wondeful explanation in all three parts and thank you for not having long nails - it looks horrible on crocheting tutorials and I keep thinking how ugly it is and get distracted. As the rappers say - Respect, O Mom of Five!!! Thank you!!!xxx
I found you again! I love this 3 part tutorial but lost you and stopped making crochet for a few years. I lost my bookmarks and RUclips videos. It took an hour but I found you!!!!
Thank you for posting. This is my favourite crochet flower pattern yet! So adorable and fun to make. Your instructions were very helpful and I didn't need a patt. at all. I will be making more of these! Great dimensions for a hat - not too heavy.
Wonderfully made. Your instructions were easy to follow and it was my first three dimensional flower. Whoop! Whoop! What you call a single crochet is different from what I call it but since it is noticeable then do what she does and don’t worry about the terms. I did this pattern with her single crochet stitch and then with my single crochet stitch and it still lovely.Thank You. We all go by what we are taught. Foundation Single Crochet in verbal instruction is often reduced to Single Crochet.
Thank you so much for this... I saw a similar flower on another site and could not figure it out from only her written instructions. Having the video helped me do it on the first try! I have to agree that the SC you are showing is not how I learned how to do a SC, but I like it!
Thank you so much for this video!! I had never done any crotchet before and your headband and flowers were my first and I got it right first time! Made it for my niece and my friends think its so cute, they're all putting in orders for their daughters :) aha. Thank you!
Great tutorial. People are getting confused cause I THINK your doing an extended single crochet. Basically if you don't know what that is, either search for it there are many tutorials on it & you can always just follow exactly what she is doing. Just knowing that the stitch you have just learnt is called the extended single crochet ;) Very pretty flower. I think the use of the extended sc is very apt, when you want length but not thickness this is a very handy stitch. Happy hookin to you & thanks again :))
Thank you for an excellent demo.Just a note, 'The single crochet' that you use, This is usually called a;Half single crochet' in most American patterns. :) Well done, anyway.
I love you!!! So much more fun than the other ladies explaining how to crochet. You do, however, do a foundation single crochet (extra yarn over + pull through 1 loop) and call it a single crochet... you may want to call it a foundation single crochet then, otherwise people will do something else and their work will look different...
Great video. I'm a newbie so my flower isn't looking like a flower, at all. But, your directions are easy to follow and you moved at a pace that was good for me. Thank you.
you are awesome...I thought the flower is going to be the toughest thing...but I did it along with your video and I'm so excited after completing it. You are so much fun!!!
Thanks for clarifying that. I am a true beginner and thought I was doing the single crochet incorrect on my other projects....That being said, can't wait to try this flower!
I made a flower and attached it to a head band I made and took a pic of it and posted it up on my facebook and a friend messaged me and ordered alot of them so thank you so much for the vid :-) now I have some pocket money lol
Thank you so much for your tutorial! I was confused with this pattern before watching your videos. But now it's too easy for me to make it. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I am making my fourth flower today! You seem like a very sweet person and I love watching your videos. You've even inspired me to try Swedish weaving! Thank you again! :D
i agree you tought me how to crochet with the headbands in on day. my second day i watched this video and one my first try made an awesome flower for my headband. Thank you i find you tutorials very helpful!!
If you don't like the way she does her video don't watch it and make your rude comments. I have used her video for many headbands and flowers and mine seem to come out wonderful and everyone I make them for love them so she must be doing something right. Keep up the wonderful job I love your videos
I'm actually really pleased with my flower. My mum taught me how to weave the rest of the wool(yarn) in, and it looks pretty good for the first one. Thanks for this video!
I love this flower and your instructions are so easy to follow! I'm calling your single crochet an "abundance single" (since it has a bit to it than the one I learned--it seems appropriate given your channel name)! Can't wait to see this flower on the baby cap I'm making!!! Thanks!
Thank you for this trio of wonderful tutorials, having never picked up a crochet hook before this project may not have been the best to "learn" with, however your video's are so easy to follow, my second flower looks just like yours. I am so pleased with myself. Thank you again, keep up the wonderful work, now on to a beanie xXx Louise
Is that how you do your SC? It is almost like a HDC. OK, I see the comment down the line, it is an extended SC, see, I learned something new!! Been crocheting (thread) for close to 40 yrs, always something new to be learned....love it.
I love your flowers. I am using up old bits of yarn to make tons of flowers. My two-year old daughter now has a hat to match every outfit! I also sew a little rhinestone in the center for a bit of sparkle. :-) Thanks!
Thank you! I loved your tutorial. I was watching someone else's tut. last night but could not follow her. I found your tut. this am and was determined to make them. Took me awhile but I did it ! Thank you for an awesome tutorial . Hugs!!
I didn't know look at the video and just made one by the narration; it turned out fine! It was a little sparse between petals, so I added an extra double crochet and it's beautiful! I'm thankful I found this tutorial as I've tried in the past to make flowers similar to this, but failed miserably. Thanks epicabundance for the video!!!
Thank you for making this flower so simple to follow. I would love a printed copy of your pattern if you ever have time. This flower will be placed on a headband. Can't wait to make more.
Thank you so much, i have tried to follow various flower patterns and could never get my head around it, would get frustrated and abandon it. I have made 12 so far with dyed wool and have put them onto brooch pins a great little gift for my daughters teachers. Many thanks xx
Thanks for noticing and pointing this out. I was just trying the tutorial and my project was coming out like the one in the video. Then I noticed that the single crochet was different then what I was used to. At first I thought I was doing it wrong but when I looked it up I was right all along. I just had to throw in the towel on this one and moved on to another project.
Thank you so much! I am making hats for children with cancer, and I wanted to have a pretty design for the hats! I also love this design for my little cousin who I am making an earwarmer for. Thanks! :)
Thanks for the video. Your flowers and headbands look Great and fun. I wanted to make a flower to use on a button but wasn't sure which pattern was best. I'll try yours for my next headband.
I see what she is doing on what people are calling the extended single crochet Instead of just a single crochet, she is doing a variation on a half double crochet that is less bulky. Her method is to draw up a loop, YO draw thru 1, YO draw thru 2. This elongates the stitch which is what I think she wants to do. If she were to do an hdc the body of the stitch would be too bulky. I did two flowers, the 1st was the basic sc then for the second flower I did her version of the sc.The differences that I found are that her flower will be slightly larger because of the extension of the sc and when I did the flower with a basic sc it was slightly smaller. Also note that her sc version makes the ch 2 spaces a little easier to see and the flower is a tad lacier as well... I think the extended sc gives an overall rounder and lacier look. IDK just my opinion after 30+ years crocheting is to tell newer crocheters not to be thrown off by a variation. Try doing her sc version then do your own basic sc version of the flower then compare...:P
You should specify for beginners that you are using the Extended Single Crochet not just Single Crochet. It confused the heck out of me, and I think it will trip others up as well. But thank you :) your flower helped me a great deal to find a gift for my sister in law. ALSO! Could you write out the pattern? For more advanced crochet people, sometimes it nice just to have it down on paper once we have watched the video to get the idea
I agree, it would be nice to have a printed pattern to refer to.. Not always on the comp or I Pad and I have tried to write the instructions down but my hearing is not the best so I am no doubt missing some things I need to know.
Cat, if you could write out the instructions, that would be really helpful. I scribbled some notes, but I'm not experienced enough to write it out clearly.
I was thinking something was different about it! I am still kind of a beginner so I was watching this thinking "Have I been doing single crochets wrong this whole time?..."
Thanks for this tutorial. I agree that the sc is different than I'm used to, but you explained things very well and I've already made quite a few flowers. Thanks again!
Thanks for the lesson! . I've made one in every color for crochet headbands and baby hats to attach with buttons. It's also very versatile! I've made several that are only 2 layers for smaller flowers and once on mistake, I had 9 petals on the second row but it actually turned out cool(tighter and more defined) so I've made some with 9 petals on purpose since then!
Thank you so much! I love this pattern, and you walk through how to make the flowers so clearly and slowly! These flowers are a perfect touch on the beanie hats I made for Christmas presents for family and friends! And I love the song, Anastasia :)
Thank you for the tutorial! I just learned how to crochet a few days ago and was able to successfully make one of your flowers. It's not as pretty as the ones in your videos but I love it! Thank you thank you thank you!
Yippee, I, a definite beginner, made this flower. some parts are a little wonkey but I figured it out and it got better as I got to the second and third petals. My flower is PERFECT! I just added flowers to 3 different projects. My husband was so impressed. I love this.

I have tried to make a layered flower from many different videos/patterns. This is the only one I have been able to figure out thank you!!!
I love all your tutorials. You have expanded my Verizon with crocheting!

I found you again! I love this 3 part tutorial but lost you and stopped making crochet for a few years. I lost my bookmarks and RUclips videos. It took an hour but I found you!!!!
I have made this flower so many times thanks to you, that I dont really need to watch this video but I do cuz I just love listening to you..lol :)
Ooh it's called extended sc! Thanks! Thank you for this tutorial, great job!!!
I've watched this a few times now, as I'm teaching myself to crochet. Very good video! I did 6 petals on the first flower, and it seemed to work well.
I think people should appreciate that she is taking her time to help us out if you are just going to complain and criticize find a different tutorial
My 1st attempt making this and they turned out perfect ....thank you your tutorials are very clear..

Would like a written direction for this flower
Great video. I'm a newbie so my flower isn't looking like a flower, at all. But, your directions are easy to follow and you moved at a pace that was good for me. Thank you.
you are awesome...I thought the flower is going to be the toughest thing...but I did it along with your video and I'm so excited after completing it. You are so much fun!!!

You are a hoot !
As a beginner I am loving your style !
Thank you so much for your tutorial! I was confused with this pattern before watching your videos. But now it's too easy for me to make it. Thanks again.
WOW! what a great video, not only did I enjoy the video, I learned how to make a cute flower, I LOVE IT! Thanks so much
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I am making my fourth flower today! You seem like a very sweet person and I love watching your videos. You've even inspired me to try Swedish weaving! Thank you again! :D

my thoughts exactly! I was indeed confused about that "single crochet" had to find another video to learn how to make a flower.
i've just finished my first ever crochet flower thanks to you clear video and instructions...thanks alot...i'm a total novice and even i managed it
Love these flowers, Thank You so much for posting this video and for sharing it with us.

Beautiful flowers! Well done, mam!
It's fun to watch the flower come to life!
Beautiful and so easy.Made one first time!!!Im not even a crocheter!!!!!Thankyou so much xx
I love this flower and your instructions are so easy to follow! I'm calling your single crochet an "abundance single" (since it has a bit to it than the one I learned--it seems appropriate given your channel name)! Can't wait to see this flower on the baby cap I'm making!!! Thanks!

I never did crotchet before , but I managed to do this flower .. thank you for your easy to follow tutorial
I loved your video. It was so simple and you go slow enough to follow. Thank you
Thank you for this trio of wonderful tutorials, having never picked up a crochet hook before this project may not have been the best to "learn" with, however your video's are so easy to follow, my second flower looks just like yours. I am so pleased with myself. Thank you again, keep up the wonderful work, now on to a beanie xXx Louise
you're such a light hearted person thank you
thank you so much! your flowers are great!!! hello from Croatia! :)
Is that how you do your SC? It is almost like a HDC. OK, I see the comment down the line, it is an extended SC, see, I learned something new!! Been crocheting (thread) for close to 40 yrs, always something new to be learned....love it.
Wow I like how nice and neat this flower came out! Thanks you for posting this tutorial :D
I love your flowers. I am using up old bits of yarn to make tons of flowers. My two-year old daughter now has a hat to match every outfit!
I also sew a little rhinestone in the center for a bit of sparkle. :-)
Thanks!
Love this very much, thanks, it was super helpful and you're delightful as well.
Thank you! I loved your tutorial. I was watching someone else's tut. last night but could not follow her. I found your tut. this am and was determined to make them. Took me awhile but I did it ! Thank you for an awesome tutorial . Hugs!!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you so much for your time. I'm a beginner and you have helped me so very much.
Thank you so much! Your headband, and flower tutorials have helped me make many of these for friends and family!
Whew... Glad I'm not the only one wondering about what she calls a SC. Going to try it.
Thank you for the tutorial for this beautiful flower. I will make this headband for my grandbabe O'lyvia!
IDK just my opinion after 30+ years crocheting is to tell newer crocheters not to be thrown off by a variation. Thanks for the explanation. I like having more skills by knowing more.
I am glad i helped, was not sure if my explanation made sense. thank you.
LindaBkrWms thanks dea for explaining this it helps us to improvement in our work.😊😊

very nice
i just started crochet love the tutorial my first flower is pink looks great to me :D tyvm
Also called a half-double crochet

I'm so happy to have found this and saving it to my favorites. I am working Christmas earmuffs and these are exactly what they need! Yeah!
Thanks for sharing. This is such an adorable flower. I've made two now!
Thanks for the lesson! . I've made one in every color for crochet headbands and baby hats to attach with buttons. It's also very versatile! I've made several that are only 2 layers for smaller flowers and once on mistake, I had 9 petals on the second row but it actually turned out cool(tighter and more defined) so I've made some with 9 petals on purpose since then!
love this tutorial! first time trying it and the result was not bad. the steps are really easy. gonna teach this to my clasmates

Thank you so much! I love this pattern, and you walk through how to make the flowers so clearly and slowly! These flowers are a perfect touch on the beanie hats I made for Christmas presents for family and friends! And I love the song, Anastasia :)

Thank you! The first flower took 2 hours. I had to rewind the film many times. But the result is amazing! Well explained to an amateur like me. :)
