Don't give up! There's always the one car that will come along with everything you want in it for the right price, you just gotta keep your eyes open and be patient :)
Bless you Americans, you sure know how to restore and improve your old muscle cars, you make them better than new with good suspension, good brakes, and serious horse power up front ! What a pleasure it must be to own and drive 1 or 2 of them, plus your hot rods and street rods, all so nice. No such thing here, I'm on another continent and real envious !
@MrNova1969 the rev limiter was set really low but I seriously doubt reving it to 5, 000 rpm for a few seconds will hurt it. Things blow up when you put some pressure in the cylinders it takes a lot to blow it up by reving. Im sure you knew this though
Italianracer724 judjing definitely a flat tappet cam (couldnt tell lobe profiling or anything, but if it was a roller cam it'd be sounding a lot smoother)
I see 350 on the fender... that may be honest about the engine under the hood, or at least its roots (let's say a bored and stroked 350), or totally misleading (say, a 396 the poster says)
The title is about a 396 camaro revving his motor. I dropped a worked 396 into MY 67 Firebird, and this is only a Rat Motor with open headers. Anyone over the age of forty has heard this before. While REALLY cool, it isn't anything that wasn't common before the Ricer era.
Anywhere from $18,000 USD - $200,000+ USD A lot of factors go into price. Engine, paint job, is it a frame off? Is it a real #'s matching Camaro? Generally, the cheaper the car, the more problems you are likely to encounter. The average cost for one of these is around $30,000 USD for a decent running car. Hope that helps :)
+Austin Wille Nope Austin, no open headers on this mess, {note the attached tailpipes}. Also 396? W/ the distinctive 350 emblem just briefly shown at 3 seconds in? If the headers were actually open, the ground would be shaking, like my mama's windows did; 1/4 mile from the shop that one night I turned over my '68 Camaro SS, w/ the open headers! Mommy was not pleased! As for the comments about the set-up below, the cam is obviously just a run of the mill 3/4 inch lift, or the idle would be...distinctive. Mine had a full inch lift cam & idled like a John Deere tractor!! Or a dragster....cue sleeper! As for the use of the words Red Line, how do we know w/o a visual of the tach?? I got pissed one day & ran mine to 10K before the valves started to float out! This was, of course, circa 1979! & then there's those funny BALD L-60's on the back playing Slick wannabees! Ha! Bet he can't keep it straight off the line, either. Paint job is nice tho...;-)
+Austin Wille I had {technically} a 350 in my '68 Camaro SS Street Racer & in 1978, 500 hp was nothing to sneeze at! I made many little boys cry at the next light when I kindly pulled over to collect their dollars! After hearing those words, "I like your boyfriend's car."! SNAP. He drove a '56 Ford pick up, that I also purchased for him. My Camaro was popped 30 over & had 12:1 pistons in it & an Edelbrock aluminum high rise, but I kept the distinctive louvred hood! I also MAY have had a friend who worked at the airport...;-) As for the difference between the 396 & the 350's, just another big block vs small block deal. I was a short run girl, so the small block was better for me, especially with those 4:11 gears in the 12-bolt posi rear end I ran. I also came off the line 'dry', which completely baffled my competition! Ha! Until I had to throttle it to collect my dollars at the finish line. Worst thing I ever did was change out the stock Quadrajet 4 BB for a Holly 650 Double-Pumper! Never got those 9-10 second quarter mile times again. And then the Ford 4X4 nailed me nearly head on in 1980 & that was the end of those happy days! Shalom friend.
+Justin Seeger I didn't say it was purely 'street legal' as the phrase goes & I have the many microfiched tickets to prove it! But to your point, yes, it did, indeed come out of the factory by special order of a former GM employee w/ that full inch cam shaft. Most of my friends/comrades were running the 3/4-inch lift at the time & they too, didn't believe it. Only way to 'prove' it to them was to drop another valve or blow another pesky gasket & tear back into it. Of course there are still a few friends & family members alive that could also attest to this, but to what end. It was what it was & it gave my previously bullied self an amazing sense or pure, raw power. I also live in what was a rather small town in SD at the time, if that helps to clear it up. & thank you for calling me 'chief'. ProMod? Shalom & I see you have been called out. Best wishes on that one!
+Maggie Rezac the term "3/4 race cam" was derived from being a hot hydraulic camshaft rather than a "full race," solid lifter cam.. there are not valve springs available even today in standard production to support 1.00 of valve lift on a first generation small block chevy head. in 1979 there werent even big block heads capable of supporting that. im not doubting you had a 350 than ran good.. but you didnt do it with an inch of valve lift on a small chevy, in 1979.
Um....not being bitchy but that's 'redline'? I had my '68 Camaro SS redlined at 10K & only 'went there' once...I was a tad pissed! As noted in this video near the end, valves started to float out so I backed down! Guy wasn't worth blowing the engine...again! Beautiful car! & yeah, the 'background' music was a bit of a distraction at first but thankfully, I once upon a time was a MOM & have the ability to filter out what I don't want to hear! Rock on all!
The irritating sound of the music in the back is taking away from the beautiful sound of this car.....
At least it gets quiet as the Camaro driver revs up...
I know right, such a turn off
That doesn’t count as music, but that trash is annoying
@@busterhymen9224 Just because you don't like it, doesn't detract from the fact it's music.
Yeah it’s awful. But those are the sons and daughters people raised in this country… to listen to garbage.
😂Sounds better than Rihanna.
tony2x lol
Most things sound better than the crap she produces
Sorry, who? Lol
Marcus The Stallion*
@@Morbid.Angel710 sure, pretend
you have gained another person who loves the sound of loud pipes
me too man, I fuckin love pipes as god damn loud as I can make em!!!
@@ericprocter5068 I wish there was something louder than straight pipes.
Yes 👍 I totally agree with you about the music...it ruins a lot of great videos...
Don't give up! There's always the one car that will come along with everything you want in it for the right price, you just gotta keep your eyes open and be patient :)
Why Have Music When Your Car Sounds That Good Bruh??
Bless you Americans, you sure know how to restore and improve your old muscle cars, you make them better than new with good suspension, good brakes, and serious horse power up front !
What a pleasure it must be to own and drive 1 or 2 of them, plus your hot rods and street rods, all so nice.
No such thing here, I'm on another continent and real envious !
Okay now off to the gas station
Seriously, that kind of music, with that car? xD
in that v8 i herd the music of my people :D
Nothing like a big cam. Headers, and straight pipes!!!
I just got a 68 camaro with a 396 and I hope it sounds just like that. Good job!
I think you made that red Civic cry....
Just love the mud flaps
They keep the chunks of rubber off the paint when doing burnouts. Lol
Car sounds better than the music they are playing. xD
Eargasm!
That’s the fucking best sound that’s pure American muscle right there
This music is ass and kills everything
Iron Maiden should be playing in the background not that lame shit music
@MrNova1969 the rev limiter was set really low but I seriously doubt reving it to 5, 000 rpm for a few seconds will hurt it. Things blow up when you put some pressure in the cylinders it takes a lot to blow it up by reving. Im sure you knew this though
American Muscle!!! {Enough Said}
I just purchased a 69 camaro with a 396 in it. What do i need to make it sound like this? Please let me know.
Beautiful, but I wish there was a kickass hard rock song or metal song in the background
sounds like the intro to hot for teacher
Rihanna ruined it all.
the sound quality is never good enough on these damn things you cant feel the it poundin the ground like you in reality
1:02 .. why would you block a single sound wave from that V8 !!!!!!!
Actor “John Cusack “ 😊
From the movie “ Better off Dead “
Drove the same Camaro 🎉
does any one know that exhaust because I want/need for my 67
Probably open headers using cutouts.
my ears broke but it was worth it
Im getting a 396 this weekend for my 76 Camaro
what set up does he have? cam ? what exhaust?
Italianracer724 judjing definitely a flat tappet cam (couldnt tell lobe profiling or anything, but if it was a roller cam it'd be sounding a lot smoother)
Love that fuckin cam. She's thumping away :)
Was there a earthquake when you filmed this?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a loud exhaust for my 1968 camaro. Or just name some loud exhaust sytems for a 68 chevy camaro
flowmaster
Open headers, lol
ShadowDragon lol for sure
straight pipe all the way back to a y-pipe duals out the back with bigger tips
I have a 67 small block roller motor and used Pypes Violator and sounds pretty mean.
He's not gentle with it. Look at the rear tires.
I am not a BIG BLOCK FAN!!! But that does sound 🤔 very nice 👌 👍
holy fu**!!!
Absolutely perfect in every regard. Love it!
I see 350 on the fender... that may be honest about the engine under the hood, or at least its roots (let's say a bored and stroked 350), or totally misleading (say, a 396 the poster says)
That dude will definitely bring ear protection next time !
A bit to lumpy at idle for me ,nice when reving though!
Could you at least have played something good? Idk like queen
Nice camaro. Reminds me of my uncles 68
My former roommates step brothers cousin had one just like it ! Ain't I neat ?
The title is about a 396 camaro revving his motor. I dropped a worked 396 into MY 67 Firebird, and this is only a Rat Motor with open headers. Anyone over the age of forty has heard this before. While REALLY cool, it isn't anything that wasn't common before the Ricer era.
No that IS a 68 it's taillights have a chrome divider thing and 67 didnt have chrome strips dividing the taillight
how much i must buy for a car like this?? sorry for my bad english
É bastante impressionante como tanto à beleza do velho e atual designer como à pottência
That's a lot, I'd love to buy a roller 1968 camaro with a pretty good body and go LSx on it!
That thing can scare off a pack of lions.
Was that the actual limiter or a 2 step?
Open headers and it sounds like a sb 350 with and aggressive cam
Earrape
The Guy with this Hand Cam at 0:25 is Eddie from Silent Hill 2.
Where is money when I need it? :(
68 was just a 67 with a divided tailamp,no window poppers turning into a 69!!
Window poppers? What planet are you from?
if he built it he can rev it. Ive no problems with that
I love when cars are so mean they dont even like to idle
Can you hear me now
😊
É bastante impressionante como tanto à beleza do velho e atual designer como à potência de um motor v8 de um Camaro chama à atenção !
thats true music i mean the car that is

Yes, it helps !
its open headers not on exhaust..
I know what i want for christmas
Just sitting here with a huge smile.
Fell sorry for the guy behind it
Too bad the sound quality sucks
Not as good as firebird
im guessing u drive a honda
sounds like a racing nascar
Not bad for a gm car
Are you even a car guy?
That sound is sexual
Not on the limiter.
Holy Crap!! :) :)
what exhaust ??? i like the back fire sound ! i need this for my 68
im not sure, but i put a flowmaster on my v6 truck and it even gave it a v8 sound and a bit of crackling when i let off the gas
***** i didnt say that i did get more power
Nice car mate
slick car
Holy crap. This car looks amazing.
Awful
open headers?
NICE SOUND
Don't know shit about cars, but is the sound on this spesific car all about cam+exhaust? All the 396s I've heard are nothing close.

No stock V8 can even make it past 7k RPM without throwing a rod. You’re straight lying
It sounds like a 350 with longtubes and straight piped lol
Lamborghini sounds better
I hope you changed your mind set on that.
