+Timothy Johnson hay Tim, there are 3 outside differences that separate a 67 and a 68, 1. the taillights have a molding that splits up your reverse and brake lights, the 67 has one solid lens (RS all red lens) 2. would be the front grill the 68 has moldings on the front that kind of stop and mold around the headlights plus the turn signals are kind of squared if you look at a 67 you'll see that the grill has 2 straight chrome pieces that connect to the headlights as well as the turn signals are round 3. is the biggest tell of them all is that a 68 Camaro has NO wing windows on the driver/passenger doors, the only year to have that was a 67. Like the SS; RS; RS/Z28 & now other combinations that have been 'restored'. As for this particular auto, as a former owner of an ORIGINAL '68 Camaro SS, Sorry, but just had to cringe at that UGLY & so very wrong cowled hood! The '68 SS's were distinctive in their double louvred hoods. Then of course there is that front spoiler that made me squint as well. And, of course, the bastardized wheel wells to fit those UGLY wheels! As for the 2-speed powerglide?, it could work. Mine came w/ a Spring-Loaded Muncie 4-speed atop an M-21 'Vette Transmission. The spring-loaded part was between 2nd & 3rd gears for faster shifting. At a certain RPM I just had to slam it straight up from 2nd gear {which is usually how I came off the line} into 3rd & sweetly walk away from the now saddened little boys! Ahh.. fun memories! The idle sounds great! Not stock, of course, but very smooth. And so it goes....

@rk68camaro - I was hoping you could help me. I just bought my son a 67 chevy camaro, he's like most people who post here- been a huge fan of Classic 1st generation camaros since he was 10 years old. This is his 1st car & wants to learn how to rebuild and restore a classic. By some miracle, I stumble across this 67 chevy camaro - that's garage kept but needs some TLC.....We are doing a complete restore and before I found your channel - my son decided he wanted gunmetal gray with black stripes on the cowl induction hood. Also, black interior with the gray from paint color on the seats. We stumbled across your channel and he says that's what I pictured my car looking like. Any chance you could share the exact color of your car? And what size tires & rims you purchased? We purchased the disc brake conversion kit & it requires minimum 17 inch wheels. It would be helpful if you could share the size on your rims and deminsons amd tire size. I'm worried about the tires rubbing the fenders.
