Charity mow? Yes I love me a good charity mow.
Connor Ward I reminded the wife this morning she’s overdue a charity mow. I got an odd look 👀
The green screen parts made me miss your old green screen vids! Good times! New sod looks great btw!
This is a game changer for sure. St. Augustine was definitely my least favorite warm season grass because of how finicky most varieties are. But now with this pro vista glyphosate tolerant variety, I am very interested. Great video LCN!
Corporate LCN interjections are great. I want these on all future videos.
I’ve had my ProVista in for 6 weeks now, and it is amazing.
This is a game changer for lawn care enthusiasts in Florida and the surrounding warm season areas that will support this grass. A Glyphosate tolerance in any desirable turf grass is amazing.
So you telling me I get to watch you work with a new grass variety all winter from up here in NYC? Thank you Scotts and Bethel! Please keep us updated on how many lawn conversions you hear of as best you can.
Creatively done LCN. As I sit in frozen Pennsylvania with a sleeping northern grass lawn, I am looking forward to seeing how your southern grass project progresses. Keep the videos coming as it’s looking to be a long winter ahead.
Yes i am excited to see how this develops. Sounds like it is a win, win grass type. I am jealous because my northern lawn will have to stay on KBG but nothing wrong with that. Keep us posted.
Awesome video. You guys down south are so lucky you get to fiddle with the lawn and be outdoors all year. But you can have that summer heat and humidity down there. Even tho it's cold in Indiana now, I'm still out there working to prep for spring seeding. My fall seeding in the front and side yards failed miserably because I didn't prep well enough to get the seed to take hold. The back yard did great. So I nuked the front and sides to kill everything off and the get soil base cleared and ready to go at the first sign of spring.
Signal grass thank you for identifying that for me I’ve been watching your channel for two years and it’s the first time you talked about I have this crap in my backyard and hate it
We had 5 pallets put in this time last year. Didn’t make it through fall. Sod webworms hit the area and our lawn, treated for them and only the ProVista did not bounce back. All the surrounding Floratam surrounding it did just fine. Have read similar stories of it not doing well when it gets stressed for other reasons. We ripped it out and had it all replaced.
Love the birds 🦅 thermaling behind Dennis when he’s talking
March 2022 update.. just went to figure out what soil to put in my sod pod and found this video
Never in a million years would have watched this video if it wasn't for Cleetus lol
Hell Yeah Brother!!!
You have really great content, been watching your videos. Thank you for sharing. Tell Connor he needs to plant pro vista on his property. Lol
Great video! Sounds like a very cool grass, can’t wait to see how things go.
That’s some beautiful grass Allyn! Keep up the good work!
Another great video LCN!!! Keep em coming! Can’t wait to see you “throwin er down” on this stuff! 👍🏻💪🏻🍻
Another great video LCN! I really enjoy your stuff, you really inspired me to do many of my videos on my channel 📺
Hey Allyn! Love your videos and watch you weekly! Glad I came across this older video about ProVista! Let me know if you do any consulting. We live in Vero Beach, about to fence our backyard, and I think we need to re-do the backyard. Would love your thoughts!
Signed up - want this in my yard, but going to wait another season and see how it holds up on your end. I'm about 100 miles north of you @LCN
Awesome Video Allyn, and yes the humor was great.
A+ video.
Wow! That ProVista looks awesome!
im super excited about installing this in my yard!!!
I definitely like the deeper color
I can’t wait to see which reel mower you’ll pick.
Toro, Swardman and Alette make cordless battery pack reel mowers. There’s no power penalty comparing electric vs gas driven reel systems. An example would be that the Hybrid reel mowers use the same electric motor to drive the reel as the electric models do.
Toro’s series is called the Greensmaster E-Flex. Since we’re both Toro guys I think that you might like it best.
You’d be the only reel low guy on the internet with a long term cordless greens mower and you could impart your opinion about the ease of ownership in going electric.
I’m excited about this and in live in the Uk 🇬🇧. I just hope one day they can make a glyphosate tolerant Rye or Fescue grass.
That's really cool info! Looking forward to seeing how things look as she grows her legs back. Also, good to see the green screen Allyn again. 👌😎
Can't wait to see progress on the new Zoysia grass! Being that it's a slow grow, I guess waiting will be the main component. Lol.
nice looking grass
Suggestion... Take that lapel mic from your corporate legal guy and use it in the field so we can hear folks like Jonathan speak more clearly... Please? Thanks
Yes. Also, cut out the low frequencies of the wind and whatever else in scenes where you are outside interviewing. Subwoofer freaking out for no reason when watching haha
Loved the video, Allyn! Looking forward to seeing the stripes it can do.
Roundup-Ready, Monsanto GMO grass... congrats, now you REALLY have a Franken-lawn. ;)
is anyone else smiling like a kid in a candy store? or just me! I WANT THIS!!!!!
So if your neighbor lays ProVista and it starts to invade your yard, how could you ever get it out of your yard?
GregtheMurse - Why would you want it out? I personally would like to encourage it’s growth over.
@@MichaelSmith-bl4xl Because neighbors may not have Saint Augustine grass.
Great video, learned a few new things.
Looking good I can’t wait to see your video on when you spray glyphosate on it. I’m semi skeptical of the newer varieties especially with brown patch tolerance.
It definitely is something that will make me cringe when I do it . Lol
My question is that if its glyphosate wont kill it, what will? And what if you just end up hating this grass? You have to cut it out?
It's glyphosate tolerant but not quinclorac tolerant. In other words, it's not bred to withstand ALL weed controls, just glyphosate. So you can use regular weed controls you always have for St Aug, plus glyphosate. Make sense?
Wish they made KYBG glyphosate resistant. Really cool. I bet your water bill is off the charts the last few months but it takes money to make money
Another fun one ... thanks!
How many growers in Florida will have this? What are the expected costs per pallet?
Thank, Alyn ... well done.
Also, sun, soil, water requirements?
It would be interesting to see what there fert. program is.
Really wanted to hear what the bethel farms had to say. I have to re-sod 4,000 Sq Ft in the spring here in Orlando, FL. Haven’t decided which grass to get.
It’s true. I did a pro vista install. Even with 15 inches of rain I cut at 3 weeks at 4 inches. Fantastic product although pricey.
I had heard about that that ProVista a few weeks back. I asked some questions on the lawn forum, but didnt get much feedback. I am glad you are trying it out so that we can see how well it does. I do wish you had put some in shade so we could see how well it does with those conditions, but you just having it out there will let us see how well it stands up to glyphosate treatments (whats the yearly limit for this cultivar?), how resistant it is to fungus, etc.
On another note, how is the zoysia coming along?
zoysia doing well - shooting an update today in fact!
Im planning on using this grass as large plugs by spacing the sod apart and allowing it to grow in with glyphosate as a weed control. Is this a good idea? I want to save $$$
Definitely will be ordering some of this to replace my floratam!
I REALLY WANT THIS GRASS YOU SPEAK OF😍😍😍😍
I want this grass for my lawn in California!
Great vid! I had Provista installed last year and am getting some bermuda grass spreading. I just bought a jug of 41% glysophate. How many oz should go in a gallon to safely treat?
That provista is some neat stuff. Sounds too good to be true.
I'm not as big of a St Augustine fan as others, but this pro vista looks real nice! I don't even care that it likes windows vista...
I'll take my Bermuda over St Aug any day of the week.
My ProVista has done well the last 2 years. But this year mowing has really been difficult because the ProVista is so thick that my self- propelled mower must be pushed through. I always mow to a height of the middle setting on my mower. If I set my mower higher, it will be even thicker. Any suggestions?
Finally, a fun video!
Still using my old stock of Asulox to control crabgrass. Think it works on torpedo grass, too.
That is exciting stuff.
Can you give us an update on this Scott’s pro vista st Augustine grass let us know how it’s been doing, I live in Miami Florida and every place I called that has it it’s like 200 miles away
I want provista but can’t get a hold of bethel farms! Helppppp me please!!!!
I would like to see how tolerant that grass is to glyphosate in the home owners situation.I am a little sceptical, prove me wrong Allyn. Great video again.😁👍👍
Glyphosate tolerance is a game changer, but it raises the question, should it be allowed? Is there going to be a day where 5-6 turf grasses are all Glyphosate resistant. Id have preferred them to make a grass with its own brand of herbicide it was immune to, rather than taking the best broad spectrum herbicid and making resistant to it.
This sounds awesome!!
Its looking good
Love green screen .. I say bring it back like the old Indiana videos :)
Any updates on the PV SA how's it doing, color, growth habits, over all satisfaction ?
How’s the Scott’s Pro Vista St. Augustine holding up? The link under video doesn’t work any more. Have you posted any new videos about this Grass?
I want to buy this 1600 SQFT . Any recommendations on where to buy?
Looking forward to seeing how well it holds a stripe! I think you might want to keep your eye on that corporate guy, though. He seems kind of shady 😆
Wow, this is great. Looks like they have Provista in KBG as well, any info on that?
Hello, Can i lay sod on old dying grass ?? Thanks in advance i was thinking of preparing but im confused.
Little LCN is back!
are there any disadvantages or unique products a lawn care service company needs to know before servicing this grass? Or can they use the same mix in their drop tanks as regular Flora tam accounts?
This sounds like Citrablue grass in Central Florida? I don't see ProVista grass at Travis SOD. Please let me know what you think?... FUNNY video...
oh nice video
The link to the Bethel Farms landing page is no longer any good.
I am having a hard time finding a glyphosate product that I can spray on my Provista St. Augustine that does not have other ingredients that will kill the Provista. Do you have any recommendations?
Its also possible to stripe Zoysia. You should do some videos on that as well
I'm going zoysia but this is going to be big as another option in torpedo grass areas...Florida.
Zoysia should more than take care of any weed
Awesome vid man, also funny. Thanks
Wow Hayne, you really do clean up well. You looked semi-professional in this video. I'm not sure if I'd trust a spokesperson from Scott's in a PFG shirt :P
First time I wore dress pants in many months lol
I see it's not available right now 😔 anyone know when it might be back?
Hey lawn care nut. Im new to the industry two projects are both St. Augustine in houston. I wanted to do the seed and starter fert but no seeds for st.AUGUSTINE. what do i do
I’m pretty sure I saw a tear drop on the camera lens when he said you don’t have to mow as often.
I’m having trouble with my pro vista, order 2 pallets but it’s not rooting well even with the RGS
next time you water, go stick your finger underneath and make sure the water is penetrating to the dirt beneath. if not, you will want to water longer/deeper to encourage the turf to root.
I'm sold! I'm going to need some plugs next spring. They do have plugs right?
No plugs yet. Just sod
Nice job man. Your green screen parts were funny! What reel mower did you buy? What cameras are you using nowadays?
round up tolerate meaning you can spray it with round up with no issues?
Ambulance chaser LCN in the house!
Throw 'er down! Provista and Glyphosate! This is what I need, insects too have been a pain in the rear with Floratam, insect magnet. Thanks for the info, what is the pricing on this?
I just called local supplier and they told me they charge $370 per 400 sq foot pallet..... This seems like A LOT more $$ than other varieties of St Augustine? It seems like it might not be worth spending "all of this extra $$" vs other St Augustine varieties, unless of course, I am missing something. Thanks
If that includes install it's not bad. If that is just for you to DIY, call another supplier
That does not include the install..... I know this is an unfair question but I'll ask it anyway..... are other varieties of St Augustine "that much cheaper" to warrant buying them instead even if they are a little more maintenance? I lost my job and am on a very fixed income but the back yard really looks like crap. I live in Tampa and the yard gets sun starting at 11 am and gets a decent amount after that? I don't mind doing the extra maintenance with a grass that would be just as nice or sure of staying OK. Thanks very much!
Is provista available in plugs?
So curious how the cold tolerance and shade tolerance is compared to palmetto. I have palmetto up here in metro Atlanta and it's cold tolerance is great it's still green even after some mornings in the mid 20's where Bermuda is now dormant. And has great shade tolerance.
Jason, I was wondering the same thing. I'm in Marietta and it's tough finding a shade tolerate warm season turf. When cut lower, I'm curious how it compares El Toro Zoysia. Both are shade tolerant, both have a wider blade, both are warm season, both can be cut low but it would appears that Provista might be less expensive to maintain. Not sure if El Toro goes dormant in Metro Atlanta Winters.
Pretty Cool Stuff! Is it still crunchy like the floritam or is is a bit softer on the feet being it is a more bunching/smaller blade type grass. Curious on how you would describe the texture verses the standard St. Aug? Thanks Chad
Not quite as crunchy as Floratam due to the shorter blade length. But def not Kentucky bluegrass soft either
@3:24 -27, I see Atrizine and Celcius and a third bottle. Anyone recognize the bottle to the left that has no label?
Did you fill in your pool?
I want so pro vista.
A spreading grass type that is gly tolerant. What could possibly go wrong?
Exactly! But Scott's and Monsanto will make more millions or billions!
It’s going to take over the world !!!!!!!!! Well the warm parts
Great video.. cracked me up!!
are you going to continue the back yard with n-ext products only?
Can we get this provista out her in SoCal ?
Hey Alan, just a quick question. I have two types of grass in my back yard, not sure what they are but one is a thin blade and the other is a thicker blade. Id like to have the thicker one throught the whole yard but have no idea how to do this... any advice would be appreciated 🤙Cheers, Sloan.
If you are in the south I'd say a mix of St Augustine and Bermuda. But that's a wild guess. Those two don't play nicely. See my recent video on ProVista.
I'm about to charity mow right through the snow.
