If you ever get bored feel free to come fix my grass/weeds here in Lakeland Fl
That entire mower sequence - struggling to just get it out, almost taking down a whole garage shelf, wife checking in, the ridiculous handle adjustment yoga pose, the 80's electronic synth over the electric mower racing against time - pure gold. I did not expect such a fantastic video on a random weekday.
The kicks, the stache, Allyn is styling and profiling!
and that vertical leap 😉
Don’t forget the gold necklace
Times are changing
Never ever give up the channel Allyn!!! I’ve learned so much from you and certainly not alone.
The stache, shoes , Seinfeld reference and clip and the jump at the end make this a top 5 all time LCN video hands down.
Not Seinfeld- My Cousin Vinnie! 😂
@@theresarobinson910 you didn't watch the whole video
@@theresarobinson910 guessing u didn't watch the entire video lol. He did an epic Seinfeld reference also
...must admit I did cut out early! But how great is LCN to have a Seinfeld AND My Cousin Vinnie clip in the same video!!
Lmao - "Elec Chicken"... This is why I love this channel.
Your wife coming out and asking if you were okay and your response made me crack up! Definitely happens at my house too.... Haha 😂
Everything I know about lawns, I learned from this guy! Thanks LCN
On your Greenworks, the green fingerholds in the handle uprights slide to control those push pins at the bottom of them.
Was just gonna say the same thing.
Just going to say the same thing as well. Love my 60 volt Greenworks
RTFM LCN 🤪
Your only human! I've learned so much from you. I'm in the northeast in NJ and I just started getting my lawn back in shape after I lost my beloved Yellow Labrador retriever in the winter. I can not believe how beautiful my lawn looks and even though we are in the beginning of summer my Lawn looks unbelievable!!! The only thing I seem to be battling is Clover and Nutsedge. I Have to mow my lawn 3 times a week and I love it! Thankyou for everything, I really did learn so much from you! My Favorite fertilizer in the summer is Milorganite, And I definitely learned cool season grass does not like to eat in the heat. Love your channel. The reason I brought up my dog is you can not have a nice Lawn with a Big female dog doing their Duty on your lawn!!!
Flexing in the neighborhood dad's with the new balances and the stache. And on top of it using an electric mower. You da man Al!
Honey, the neighbor got a haircut and is dancing around like Rocky Balboa in his yard. 😂
Again???!! Geez that’s his third time this week!
@@Christian49ers l mm
I was just wondering. Has Alan gotten to know his neighbors well enough that they expect this sort of thing or are they all thinking he's nuts?
@@imhooks he's the lawn care nut
Worth testing the battery for the end result! Nicely done!
Haircut is high and tight, dealing with the summer stress nicely :)
Super fresh and cool cut! Always quality content! Thank you Allyn!
Yard is looking stellar Allyn. Love me some mid week lawn work. Thanks for the entertainment 🤙
The haircut + Moustach + Gold Chain is killing it Allyn!
I love watching your videos and being able to identify similar issues I have with my lawn. About 17 days ago I did an app of Celsius, and I’m also noticing some growth change in my St.Aug. I did a blanket application though, so what I’m noticing isn’t just in certain spots of my lawn, it’s all over. But glad to know that I have an idea of why I am seeing what I am. Thanks for your information as always, Sir. 👍🏼
It is CRAZY how squishy your lawn looks!! When you take steps you sink into it.. I'm jealous!!
Hi friend, beautiful lawn and nice music too! Thanks for all you do to help others. Blessings
I've got this mower and love it! Funny he didn't figure out the green loops that slide to unlock the handles. Ha! Keep em comin Allyn
Shhh, it is WAY more fun to see him hunker down and wrestle with the handle.
Kenny, what is the name of your mower? Would you recommend it? I have been wanting to get one, but I read so many bad reviews about electric mowers. What do you say?
12:19 - this mix is gold
Use the green levers with the holes on the handle to adjust the handle height
I must say I have been enjoying the videos brother! I’m glad I stumbled across them while drinking a sweet delicious Manhattan.
From your Indiana/Chicago background, with a stache like that I was waiting for comments on how 1985 was a great year.
Da Bears da bears da bears
Two hilarious observations on this video. The way you crushed the first grub and zoomed in on your victim in silence. The second was one of the first times I've heard your wife's voice and when she asks what the noise was you said "oh, somethin."
I've got the Ryobi Electric mower and love it. I have 3 batteries, so I keep one on charge while running on one and then rotating them out. Same battery for my weedeater, edger, blower, etc. Oh and the Ryobi is WAY easier to set up and take down. LOL
The music was on point, very electric ⚡️ and both cuts looked good too🤙🏼 FRESH
Afternoon delight
Got about 1/4 inch of rain here in Central Maine. Helped but we are still very dry. It’s amazing what a little rain can do.
Bam! Haircut lookin' fresh! Both the dome and the yard.
1. Love the cut. (Not talking about the lawn)
2. Turn your frame rate up! When you’re walking I want to feel like I am there and not see the motion blur.
3. Love ya over by der. God bless bruh 😎
I'm sure your neighbors are highly entertained by you.😄
That stache screaming’ “daaa Bears!”!
Hi Allyn
You have fantastic videos...I live in White Lake Michigan and have very Sandy loam soil.I have struggled for years to get my fescue slash Kentucky grass to look decent.I want people to know that adding Lime to my lawn finally filled in my no grow spots that drove me crazy...

Looking good man!
Looking good LCN. Great haircut to go along with the stash and gold chain. That mower cuts nice but otherwise seems like a sketchy build.
“Spray a little something on it or whatever just because it feels good”
This should be a new LCN slogan 😆
That's what she said ...
Diggin the fresh fade papi!
George is that you? 😂
I'd be interested to hear your full review of that mower.
(Assuming that handle adjustment wasn't a joke lol) I have the same Greenworks mower model, and I love it. To adjust the handle height, use the green finger holes on the handle bars by lifting up towards you. Works like a charm on my 8,000sqft of Bermuda I cut at 1" (lowest setting) and 2,000sqft of Zoysia at 2". Mowed my neighbor's fescue at 4" and it works well, too.
Okay, I've typed too much here. Hope it helped someone, at least lol.
Nice recovery
This is old school lawncare nut. Love it bro
oh yeah!! these are my favorite to make too.
Best Grass on RUclips! Hands Down
Epic hops there at the end Allyn. I actually saw some air under your shoes - so that was at least a 5" vertical.
Hey Allyn can you do a segment on cool season grass dormancy in the summer, recovery etc? We're heading for a heatwave here and I doubt I'll be able to prevent sections of turf from checking out on me. Feeling a bit ill-prepared. Cheers dude.
'That's some bad hat Harry!' Good vid Al, thanks from up here in Pinellas county. Finally got some rain!
I watch every episode, you have helped a lot. Thanks! Also, you crack me up. 🤪
hoorah thanks my friend!
I was always very interested about that mower. Glad to see you bust it out
@@TheLawnCareNut, I also heard the up front cost of the batteries can hurt a bit, yet they last for a long time. Great info and thanks as always 👍🏽
Those hand movements... You could give away A NEW CAAARRR with the best of Barker's Beauties! Love the content brother!
ha ha! I was actually on The Price Is Right in 1995. Got to meet Bob.
@@TheLawnCareNut That is fantastic. Did ya win anything?
@@dantrevorrow6312 no I wasn't actually a contestant. I went with a group and one of our group members won everything so at the end we all rushed up on the stage so I got on in the last 10 seconds of the show while Bob talked about neutering pets. After the taping was done he took a pic with me.
@@TheLawnCareNut He is a legend. That is a Pic I would definitely have framed and hanging in the man cave!
@11:10....Are you OK? Yeah, I'm fine babe. What was that? Ummm somethin. LOL!
Diggin' the New Balance and black socks combo. I'm convinced they assisted with your 2" vertical on those victorious leaps!
“It’s late and I don’t want to make any noise” … proceeds to bump into and knock over literally everything in his garage
hahahah
Chamber Bitter 🤣
Got me good today mate 😅😎
Nice hair cut! Very patriotic for the 4th. Also, the mower reminded me of your OG Lawn Boy from Indiana Over by derrrr!
That's going way back !! 👊
Looks great!
I had applied Celsius to my St Augustine in Miami. The same day I did the application rained in the evening but the growth regulation still present after one week.
Definitely getting old when you start sporting the New Balance! LOL!
they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned besides flip flops. You should try it.
@@TheLawnCareNut yes. By far.
That victory dance at 15:50... yeah, I felt that.
Be sure to give us a review on the greenworks mower
I've used the "that was my nickname in highschool" so much at work it's not even funny.
Not only have you impacted me by your grass but by your sayings lol!
I noticed last year after spraying celsius it stunted my St Aug. A month or so i sprayed some blindside and it did same thing. Finally starting to come out of it.
There is a battle in your turf but you, Allyn, are the General Patton of turf wars!🤣
thanks bro!! I like it!
Daring mow there...nicely done
The Mustache is thicker than your Zoysia. It's a keeper. Rock the Stache.
I like that the green works you can set the speed. I have the kobalt 80v and it only picks up to full speed under duress. I wish I could override it.
Also any tips for bindweed? I'm getting it bad and it's such a pain. Rake and glyphosate in fall headed into winter? Stuff is so low I might need to bring the height down for an effective glyphosate app.
you look really good. I like the look
Roadtrip to FL, hit up LCN's barber then give him a mow job!
thanks bro!
I have a greenworks mower, not the same one, but the ending hits all the nerves for me!
I have been using Fusilade II to get common Bermuda out of my Zoysia and it works very well!
Of course, I have emerald Zoysia (very narrow, fine blade) and the common Bermuda looks very different. It annoyed me.
"same thing, this is the battle that's
being fought out here... in our turf... All these different grasses
fighting for space and if you give one
of them a way in, you... you weaken your turf stands, somebody
else is going to rush in... kind of how life works too isn't it..."
Had me shook for a second there.
That was deep.
The victory jump at the end LOL
I like your style sir...well done vid
I also experience growth slowdown after a Celsius application on my St. Aug. Effecta wore off after 3-4 weeks. Doesn't bother me, Celsius is an awesome herbicide. Best product I have found for the dreaded dollarweed.
By far the best scene in My Custom Vinny !
agreed
Question: If the left battery is dead, could you throw it on the charger and continue on just one battery, or do you need both to run that bad boy?
The batteries did the job!! I’m impressed, but how was the cut?
zoysia does good at choking Bermuda, I find it next to my zoysia running for its life
Do you know what kind of zoysia you have?
@@rshort15531 Meyer
It is a hybridized variety in southern Maryland
Thanks for telling what chamber bitter is I have in my back yard and I want to get rid of it what works?
Liking that Zoysia, Brother!
I appreciate you showing off your mower but the video is addressing lawn problems. I have several different types of grass growing in the lawn, a majority is Fescue but I also have Bermuda, St Augustine, and even a bit of Centipede growing. How do I get the Fescue to take over? The lawn is unsightly due to the different types. The fescue looks great but the upon a closer look you can definitely see the difference in grasses. Oh and you should have played You're the Best when you jumped around at the end. Thanks
Love it! Any chance you can do a video on take all root rot? I’m in the midst of a fierce battle right now and my SE Florida floratam can’t seem to overcome it. Your videos have helped me get a beautiful lush lawn but it’s all going to hell at the hands of this merciless killer.
hit it with this at 5oz/1000 every 2-3 weeks yardmastery.com/collections/greene-county-fertilizer/products/0-0-31-greenephitet-potassium-phosphite-plant-fertilizer#
@@TheLawnCareNut thanks Al. No fungicide or other? I heard peat moss helps fight back the disease because the fungus doesn’t like the low ph
Nice fade man! AF coming back to represent!
I was finally able to get rid of my kalinga with Dismiss... AND the scourge of spurge on may patio cracks... I first used Image, and Burnzomatic and then I put down preemergent against it. It worked!... (although there is either crabgrass (or quackgrass) still coming up. I will torch it.
Litium batteries age faster when stored full, but age fastest when stored empty. For bast Litium Ion battery life the industry has a term called storage voltage of 3.8V per cell, that's about 80% charged. So you could run a tool for a minute or 2 after charging and before storing to extend overall battery life (how many years it will be useful).
@@colnathanrjessup687 There are so many factors, a big one is the cell the manufacturer actually put in the battery, even more important is how the manufacturers chargers and tools charge and discharge the batteries basically where the cutoffs are. Another massively important feature is series string cell management, keeping every cell in the series string at the same state of charge or voltage.
I talked about storage because it is the most important factor most people can manipulate.
Another thing people can kind of control is the low voltage cut off, don't run your tools until they stop, lithium batteries like to stay in the middle of their capacities.
Discharge rate is also something you also have a small amount of control over, some manufacturers design their tools to use the full surge rating of a battery. For instance skill saws drain batteries really quickly, so that's a very high discharge, so don't plan on using a skill saw continuously emptying a whole battery on a single cut.
@@colnathanrjessup687 Dual voltage batteries have an extra concern. Because they change the arrangement of parallel and series cells the high voltage mode can discharge the cells unevenly especially under heavy load. When you immediately take that battery out and switch to a low voltage tool those unbalanced cells dump energy into each other very quickly because they're now in parallel. Most dual voltage battery packs have a BMS that slowly discharges the cells left with more energy from a high voltage high load use. The takeaway is don't switch from a high voltage tool to a low voltage tool without letting the battery rest for several minutes.
@@colnathanrjessup687 Actual lifespan is different with every manufacturer, tool, temperature in the charging environment, and all of the other things I talked about. Each lithium chemistry and cell manufacturing recipe also has different calendar aging where you lose capacity some small amount every day. In general a really well taken care of tool battery could still have about 80% of it's capacity in about 10 years. A battery that is very poorly taken care of could be dead in 6 months or less.
Love my Ego batteries that will automatically go to a storage voltage after 30 days. I definitely try to stop charging them before they are full, but occasionally still need to go to full so that they balance. And try to stop while last bar is green. Good news is all these batteries seem to have quality BMS to protect themselves.
@@seanrice7511 I don't have any ego to check for this, but for instance DeWalt cuts their chargers at 4.1v instead of the 4.2 that is actually full so leaving them on the charger for years at a time kills them quite a bit slower. And that tiny amount makes a surprising difference in aging. Every manufacturer does it different. That's ego feature is a new one to me though!
Nice video. Do you have to have both batteries in to run the mower? If not, perhaps charging the dead the one while you continued to mow would be a wise move.
I really enjoy your lawn videos!! Thanks for taking time to do them. Also, maybe you could offer some advice for me: It takes me forever to water my lawn because water pressure around here (not just me but all the neighbors too) is just not very good. I can only run one sprinkler at a time (I use an oscillating sprinkler because it seems to get the most coverage given my crappy water pressure). I've been reading a lot about booster pumps and well pumps (apparently they aren't the same thing?)----do you know what exactly I can put between my outside spigots and my garden hose that will really push the water through my sprinkler?
To adjust height of the handle, pull those two green plastic rings on the side of the handle.
Absolute greatness
Magnum PI Lawn care! Glad it came back fast for ya.
Takes a big man to admit he torched his lawn. Proud of you Al 😎 seems to me that everyone is having a tough year in the turf……
Love the success dance!!! And response to the wife lol. Ummmm “nothing” lol
Dude, I friggin' LOVE the haircut!!!
thanks bruh.
My neighbors (mostly) Floritam lawn has invaded my centipede. But my elm grew big enough to shade out the centipede. And the salt system pool has pretty much created a zone of wild bermuda in my back yard where the centipede died. I'm thinking in my new house (hope to start building in August) I will try the Citra Blue. We are a bit too far north (Fla Big Bend) for Zoysia to be easy care and it does take a long time to green up. Bit I grew up with bluegrass in KY...I miss the soft feel on the bare feet...
Great vid. Shows that “even gods can bleed.” I love the before and after for both the zoysia and parkway. Also, great stache.
Another great video!
The tiny spot missed with the mower at the 15:36 mark has me disturbed 😜
My dad passed in 2020. He was extremely proud of his lawn. It was always the greenest on the block. This will be the fist year that I attempt to care for it like he did. I do not have experience in lawn maintenance but I have been watching videos on You tube etc. Last summer I notice that the yard started turning to mostly weeds. It was still green but it was less grass and more weeds (crab grass etc). I just purchased some pre emergent and plan to put this down this weekend. I have not turned on the water to irrigate yet we are in WA and it still freezes. Do you think it would still be ok to spread the pre emergent or should I wait until I have water in late April? I plan to follow with fertilizer in the next few weeks and I have the same question about waiting until I can irrigate or if I can put it down now.
love "this is the fastest way to kill grubs" lol, Q: minute 9:45 chamber bitter is also the name of your??..... what? lol,
and you should have return the Left side battery to the charging station right after it died so by the time you start using the Right side, the other battery should have charged some and you can finish, or just get a 3rd battery, they are pricy but it keeps you going!
Ditka would be proud of that 'stache LCN. Strong
LCN have not watched you for a long time always enjoyed your content but only so much time and I don't live in Fla. so I had to find a new northern grass channel. I am wondering if you've been sniffing the milorganite lots of new growth under the nose. take care and enjoy the mow
