Ohh hmm for the mouth, I have a deformer which ensures that the mouth is the same angle as the head. Make sure that the deformer has proper keyframes set on the head angle parameters. Also, if you plan on using more deformers for the mouth w/ keyforms on the mouth open parameter, make sure that the new mouth deformers are children of the original mouth deformer (the one that ensures that the mouth is the same angle as the head). Hi, in this episode you used a "reactive PNG avatar". How do you do that? Is it a plugin for OBS, an external program or something you added in post production?
Kira!! I have a problem, when i made my avatar's head turn to other side, the eyes while looking to other side (not the center) are not moving with the head, what can I do?? T.T
I'm at the part making the parameters for head rotation. My head rotation moves fine but then doesn't move when I make the parameter keyframes in Head Angle X. I don't know if you'd know what would be causing that, it might be some oversight somewhere
this is really helpful! also, when i edit the keyframes the thing that I'm moving leaves behind a motion blur, how do i get rid of it? (sorry I'm not good at explaining XD)
I have some problems with the mouth animation. Is it normal when you change XY parameters center keyform to another keyform then the mouth is changing. Just like, when it in the center keyform, the mouth is still closed but when i change it too another keyform of XY parameters, the mouth is opened.
Oh I believe I've had this problem before o: make sure that the mouth objects and deformers you're using for the mouth opening parameter don't have any keyforms assigned in the XY parameters ^^ It's recommended that you use another/different deformer for the XY parameters
so i've tried doing the same thing you do here, move the eyes and such while i'm on the right keyform, but whenever i go to move around the head angle, the eyes just stay in the edited position and won't follow the face? same with the eyebrows and mouth
When I want to move the face left or right the parameters aren't recorded. I set the head/face with a deformer beforehand. I also watched different videos and was able to do their methods but won't allow me to deform the face properly because moving the parameters any direction will just move the face to the recorded direction but the deformer won't record. I'm kinda lost lol.
Have you clicked the three/two key forms button? Once you add a deformer, you must set the key forms again. Make sure they're green, and then they should monitor your movement
3:24 just wondering, are Arm L and Arm R in rotation R and rotation L (respectively) for a specific reason, or was it just a minor mistake with the naming convention?
I noticed in this video the character would activate and deactivate based on mic input. Does Live2D have an option to have the character respond to voice sound and not face rig? Can I easily live cast Live2D to observe with transparent background?
I've created custom keyforms for the eyeblink just like that, however, for some reason the software determined a wrong keyform as default so whenever I open the model file my character has half-closed eyes instead of having them opened normally, if that makes sense. is there a way to fix that so the software actually understands I want the character to have the open-eye keyform as default?
I think you could change the default keyform value in the options of the parameter, though I'm not sure if it's in the window for configuring the parameter values or if you just have to right click the parameter and edit it (I can't check Live2D right now, sorry) If you have more questions, you may find them in my Live2D FAQ stream here: ruclips.net/video/3JVmd7GW0rY/видео.html The questions are timestamped in the description too :>
I deleted the Y angle because it said to do that in another tutorial by a different person but now I want to add it back!! It won't work :( I made my own and no matter what I edit the avatar won't move his head up and down in the viewer, do you have any workarounds??
The only thing I can think of is just Ctrl + Z, or check Live2D’s autobackups in Help > Open Autobackup Folder to see if you have an autosaved file there with the previously rigged Y angle It’s weird to have a tutorial say to delete the Y angle @_@ may I know what tutorial that is?
my things keep disappearing whenever I try to set the parameters :( Im not sure what I'm doing wrong. I select the and move it, then set the parameter. I get one key pose down, but when I try to move the dot, it all disappears :0
Make sure to absolutely not do anything to the model yet before setting all of the keyforms ^^ if you’ve changed stuff in your model and set keyforms after that, some stuff might disappear
I cant put my PSD into live 2d I have a mac book pro 2020 big slur.. i tried that it didnt work. I also have mac book air high sierra. It didnt work either
I cant get my character's head and eyes to move at the same time, how do I fix that? Do I have to put them under the same deformer? I would also like to apply this to the hair and ears as well, it's not just a problem limited to the eye.
Yes I do link those! I’m planning to release a more specific mouth tutorial maybe next week (with a e i o u shapes), I hope you’ll watch it when it gets released!
Nice! If you have more questions, maybe you can find it in my Live2D FAQ stream here: ruclips.net/video/3JVmd7GW0rY/видео.html The questions are timestamped in the description too ^^
I keep getting the message "Please create an object with the same parent deformer selected." every time I try to create a rotation deformer. What am I doing wrong?
There might be an issue in your deformer parenting/hierarchy if that message shows up, I also couldn’t find a solution to this on google but one forum post did say to make sure that the objects you have selected don’t include a warp deformer i.e. there’s a warp deformer among art meshes I think it’ll be best if you go to Brian’s Live2D server and ask for help there, since you can’t attach images in YT comments. Here is the invite link: discord.gg/WmGzaVmu
Can someone help me out? I got a problem at 6:45 If I deform for example the eyebrow, while the face looking right, it stays that way and doesnt moves along? I dont see my mistake and tried everything :(
Make sure that you set parameter keyforms while having the deformer for the eyebrow selected, also avoid doing any modifications first before setting the keyforms just to be safe. Also check if the eyebrow deformer is tied to another parameter if that still doesn’t work. You could try deleting the old deformer and making a new one just to start fresh :) I’ve had some issues with deformers because they weren’t arranged right and the parameters got messy, so doing stuff again to start clean might not be a bad idea.
im having trouble with head xy and mouth when i first adjusted head xy, everything was fine when i did the mouth key form its not moving with the head anymore does anyone know what to do?
Thanks so much on making this tutorial! it helps sooo much, especially since I've just started learning ^_^ I'm still confused on the head rotation part though... it wasn't explained on how to set them up in the part trees, so my parts don't move wherever I try to put them. :(
Ah um I'm not sure how your part trees/parent-children stuff look like 0: but generally you want to put the objects you want to move under the deformer you're moving. You can also easily set parent-child relationships by dragging the objects to a deformer (in the lower left window thing where it shows all the objects and deformers) I feel like I have an updated parent-child trees in the part 2 of the vid, maybe you could check that out if you haven't yet :D I hope this helps ;;__;;
@@corvaes Thank you! Hope this helps other people! I managed to figure it out after some trial and error in the program like you said :'). I tried not using warp deformers and you can tell how that went lol
The hiyori full body ver sample model from Live2D (just google, it’s the first result!) is worth checking out too :) It’s very helpful for understanding and referencing deformer hierarchies
To select two deformers, you can just select one and then press Ctrl or Shift to select the other one There is a way to mirror things on what you did to the parameters, it’s called reflect motion ^^ I suggest looking into that
Parameters can accept more than 1 object or deformer, make sure to follow the steps when assigning parameters and keyforms to objects ^^ If you're using the free version, deformers and objects are limited to having 3 parameters bound to them, this might cause your problem if you have bound the other objects to 3 parameters already.
Is there anything that I can do to improve the videos? I plan on revamping the video series in order to cover more information and answer frequently asked questions

The only thing I can think of is just Ctrl + Z, or check Live2D’s autobackups in Help > Open Autobackup Folder to see if you have an autosaved file there with the previously rigged Y angle
It’s weird to have a tutorial say to delete the Y angle @_@ may I know what tutorial that is?
my things keep disappearing whenever I try to set the parameters :( Im not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Does anyone know how to add more than 1 deformer to more than 1 part? Like for example 2 deformers for head blush, head color and head linear?
Amazing, also is your native language English just a question?
English isn't my native language :'> I'm sorry if I don't have perfect grammar!
@@KiraOmori its fine, whats your native language?
Excuse me, do I need to have eye lid layers for the blinking movement?
you don't really need eye lid layers, you can add them if you want to!
I cant put my PSD into live 2d
I have a mac book pro 2020 big slur.. i tried that it didnt work.
I also have mac book air high sierra. It didnt work either
Does it have some kind of file error? You may wanna try saving the PSD using another program
i have the free version i cant put more parameterss i think i wanna give up :(
I know this is an old tutorial, but I need to ask how did you get the bangs on the front to be transparent?
Wouldn't the art itself just have low opacity?
How do u move the under layer to over layer without making it kinfa permanent position?
You can keyform draw order
I cant get my character's head and eyes to move at the same time, how do I fix that? Do I have to put them under the same deformer? I would also like to apply this to the hair and ears as well, it's not just a problem limited to the eye.
Make sure the movement is assigned to the same parameters.
@@extremeslashr Thank you so much! You're awesome!
@@extremeslashr oh i cant fix that (
Just to clarify something- do you not link the Form and Open parameters for the mouth shapes?
Yes I do link those!
I’m planning to release a more specific mouth tutorial maybe next week (with a e i o u shapes), I hope you’ll watch it when it gets released!
@@KiraOmori Ohhhh ok that makes senes. Wow, what good timing! Thanks a lot for these, they've been indispensable
Sorry that the vid came pretty late hehe I had little time to work on it but here's the link! ruclips.net/video/tJdS1G5ybkE/видео.html
What do you use for that little avatar in the corner that lights up when you talk?
it's a reactive PNG that's used with discord! you can search up a tutorial here on RUclips
Thankyou🦐🦐
Can u show us how to use the animation mode please?
I unfortunately can't show that since I haven't tried animating in Live2D yet and this tutorial series is exclusively for rigging models only ^^
@@KiraOmori okay ty
How did you make the mouthbag stay inside the lines of the lips?
By deforming it or having lips. An advanced method is to use glue with the lips and inner mouth
Hi there, may i ask how do you edit multiple deformers on 1 single parameter? I seem to only be able to edit 1 deformer on 1 parameter
What do you mean? Edit them simultaneously or have one parameter assigned to multiple deformers?
@@KiraOmori its okay i got it figured out, i messed up the parent and child deformer arrangement. Thanks for the reply!
Nice!
If you have more questions, maybe you can find it in my Live2D FAQ stream here: ruclips.net/video/3JVmd7GW0rY/видео.html
The questions are timestamped in the description too ^^
Does anyone know why i got no option for reflect motion
I keep getting the message "Please create an object with the same parent deformer selected." every time I try to create a rotation deformer. What am I doing wrong?
There might be an issue in your deformer parenting/hierarchy if that message shows up, I also couldn’t find a solution to this on google but one forum post did say to make sure that the objects you have selected don’t include a warp deformer i.e. there’s a warp deformer among art meshes
I think it’ll be best if you go to Brian’s Live2D server and ask for help there, since you can’t attach images in YT comments. Here is the invite link: discord.gg/WmGzaVmu
@@KiraOmoriAh. I think I get it now. Cheers!
Serves me right for trying such a complicated rig for my first attempt.
Can someone help me out? I got a problem at 6:45
If I deform for example the eyebrow, while the face looking right, it stays that way and doesnt moves along?
I dont see my mistake and tried everything :(
Make sure that you set parameter keyforms while having the deformer for the eyebrow selected, also avoid doing any modifications first before setting the keyforms just to be safe. Also check if the eyebrow deformer is tied to another parameter if that still doesn’t work.
You could try deleting the old deformer and making a new one just to start fresh :) I’ve had some issues with deformers because they weren’t arranged right and the parameters got messy, so doing stuff again to start clean might not be a bad idea.
im having trouble with head xy and mouth
when i first adjusted head xy, everything was fine
when i did the mouth key form
its not moving with the head anymore
does anyone know what to do?
oh i think its the hierarchy or something
gotta find more tutorial then!
hmm why the deformer under collar back is not opened 🤔
can i use prprlive bc i am a minor and i cant get facerig
Im pretty sure you can
the little rotating lines on the warp deformer doesn't do anything for me.
Thanks so much on making this tutorial! it helps sooo much, especially since I've just started learning ^_^
I'm still confused on the head rotation part though... it wasn't explained on how to set them up in the part trees, so my parts don't move wherever I try to put them. :(
Ah um I'm not sure how your part trees/parent-children stuff look like 0: but generally you want to put the objects you want to move under the deformer you're moving. You can also easily set parent-child relationships by dragging the objects to a deformer (in the lower left window thing where it shows all the objects and deformers)
I feel like I have an updated parent-child trees in the part 2 of the vid, maybe you could check that out if you haven't yet :D
I hope this helps ;;__;;
ooopssss
i really dont get the parent hierarchy thing
@@corvaes Thank you! Hope this helps other people! I managed to figure it out after some trial and error in the program like you said :'). I tried not using warp deformers and you can tell how that went lol
The hiyori full body ver sample model from Live2D (just google, it’s the first result!) is worth checking out too :) It’s very helpful for understanding and referencing deformer hierarchies
@@KiraOmori Thank you. I understand them now really and I use your list of hierarchies whenever im starting a new model lol
How does one select two deformers?
And is there a way to mirror what you did on one side to the other?
To select two deformers, you can just select one and then press Ctrl or Shift to select the other one
There is a way to mirror things on what you did to the parameters, it’s called reflect motion ^^ I suggest looking into that
@@KiraOmori Thank you so much! You are the best~
RIP help pls i dont know why the deformers aren't lining up with the parts i want them to deform.. its always sticking to the middle :(
Did you position them properly before assigning objects to the deformer?
@@KiraOmori omg im so silly huhu thank you so much!! i was doing them at 3 am hahaha
How to Open Ai file in live 2d?
You can’t. Live2D only accepts PSD’s.
For some reason my parameters are only accepting one object ;_;;;;
Parameters can accept more than 1 object or deformer, make sure to follow the steps when assigning parameters and keyforms to objects ^^
If you're using the free version, deformers and objects are limited to having 3 parameters bound to them, this might cause your problem if you have bound the other objects to 3 parameters already.
@@KiraOmori how do I get the head to all turn if i can only have three but have more?
I quit I’m so confused and I get overwhelmed easily😔 imma just stick to png
Worst videos, yet the best there are. How much do you want?
Is there anything that I can do to improve the videos? I plan on revamping the video series in order to cover more information and answer frequently asked questions
............................ i name u pretender! denounced this tutorial as incomplete and not well sorted.
I'm sorry if you felt like this tutorial is incomplete and disorganized, I did try my best to explain sufficiently! I'll do better next time ^^ I hope you find the tutorial that's right for you
